Just bad luck we were staying there when a wedding party had booked most of the hotel. This meant a lot of the common areas were reserved for that group.

Amazing location! So close to everything. Beautifulhotel with an amazing rooftop pool and bar, great for day and night. Food at this hotel is beyond fabulous, please take advantage of the free breakfast that's available. Rooms with Terrace are great!

Staff is fantastic, they can stet up any excursions you would like. Please do the day trip to the private island!! The beds are so COMFORTABLE!!! Maid Service is on point!

The whole hotel is beautiful, very comfortable, and definitely has very good high finishes.

The staff needs more training in providing a luxury experience, they lack manners in customer service, and the service doesn't match the hotel's facilities. However, the charisma, smiles, and kindness of everyone are something worth highlighting.

I loved that the hotel was located in a quiet part of the historic town, yet just a few minutes' walk from the busier, touristy areas with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were amazing: friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. It’s truly a guest-focused hotel.The historic building has been beautifully renovated, with open-air spaces, a stunning rooftop, and a relaxing pool. Access to the rooftop pool and pool bar is reserved exclusively for guests, which made it feel even more special.Our room was spacious, luxurious, and very quiet. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and there were also à la carte options available.

This was our second time staying here. Referred by a coworker. This stay had its moments, but only near the end of our stay. I definitely recommend the place for location, cleanliness, hospitality and security. The two hiccups we dealt with was on our final evening the key card reader decided it didn’t want to work. They were able to get us back in our room. But if we wanted to go back out for any reason. It’s a waiting game for maintenance to let us back to our room. Earlier the same day in the afternoon. My friends and I encountered our first male version of a Karen. If you ever come across this dude. He is definitely not the hospitable guest that we have come across.

Great location and lovely rooftop pool. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff were very helpful.

The gym had no towels. It had equipment but only really fit for one person max.

Jorge the rooftop barman was excellent and extremely friendly. Kids loved the pool. Beds were extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast had everything you could think of. Location fantastic for stepping outside and exploring the old city.

Very friendly staff. Facilities are super clean. Patio furniture was completely being cleaned in the morning. Rooms are spacious and have a great vibe. Location is very nice and clean and felt very safe.

Great hotel in the heart of the walled city in Cartegna. Beautiful courtyard, pool, rooms and property. breakfast was amazing!

Our experience at this 5 star hotel was disappointing due to a complete lack of security and support for guests. We witnessed a serious incident involving another guest on two separate occasions, yet the hotel took no responsibility, provided no assistance, and failed to follow up on the situation. This raises serious concerns about their safety policies.Additionally, the service was extremely slow across multiple areas, including the pool, breakfast, room cleaning, and lunch. We had to wait at least 40 minutes even for a couple of drinks. This level of inefficiency is unacceptable for a hotel of this magnitude

They staff was horrible. I booked my fiance here for our wedding weekend in Cartagena because my wedding planner said that they were great and will work with us on whatever we need for our wedding. However, that was not the story. I was going to his room one night to get things from his room but we were turned down by the front desk. I kindly told them I booked the room for two and I actually was the one who booked. I even offered to show my IDs and a picture of my passport so they can verify or record me since I know some hotels have this policy. They said I couldn’t go because I wasn’t there on the day of the check in… how is it my fault if I arrived a day after my fiance since he went early for his bachelor!! I tried to level with them but they were so stubborn… I’m soooo glad we didn’t choose to extend and stay there for our wedding night because what would’ve happened would be at 1am when I would move there… I would be turned down to even enter. I’ve stayed in countless hotels all over the world, my wedding week was a blast but this was the pit of my wedding week. Also, my fiance said it had cockroaches and horrible value for money. The staff was really mean he said, I would like to think we are reasonable people and if you ask all the hotels we stayed in at Cartagena we have built great relationships with them… minus Bastión.
