Sovereign Bali Hotel

Close to airport, nice rooftop with large pool. Excellent location for planespotters to take photos of arriving and departing planes from DPS airport from rooftop terrace.

Location was convenient to airport

The original rooms we were given had one window which didn't open and the view was a painted brick wall 2ft infront of the window with no natural light as were many of the rooms. But management agreed to a few upgrade to a roof top view room over city

I liked the pool on the top and the proximity to the airport

The room wasn't clean, disgusting : a lot of stains everywhere (curtains, walls, desk, carpet). I had to clean it myself to feel confortable. But the bed and bathroom seem to be ok. the staff as the reception is not so nice as I am used to with balinese people.

The staff were lovely and attentive, the location is great if you are needing to reach the airport quickly. There is also a great, very large souvenir store right up the street

Unfortunately, we would not recommend staying at the Soverign Hotel. We had stayed at this location before Covid, and it felt quite different to how it does now. One of our rooms smelt of sewerage, the other smelt of mould. The facilities such as the shower are not in the best shape, they are dated and rusted. The windows and lifts are dirty. The photos are quite deceiving - the rooftop pool is lovely and looking at the planes flying so closely is great, but there are no cushions on the chairs and no umbrellas so it is quite uncomfortable to sit outside for too long.

Close to airport. Helpful staff. Breakfast included and very good choice.

Smell of drains in the bedroom, but moved to a new room very quickly. Limited choice of evening meal menu.

The bed was comfy

I got the worst room - there was a building right in front of my window and there was no sunlight whatsoever in the room. It was very depressing. I asked to move to another to another room but the receptionist told me I had to pay a lot more extra. Why? No idea. So I didn't move eventually.Also the a/c was loud and I could hear all other guests through the walls.

I’ve never been in a more damp and smelly hotel. The room was damp, the bed was damp and the sheets had 2 stains on them. Mould in the bathroom. On a positive note the staff were friendly and helpful even for our midnight checkin. Good location near airport. Probably won’t stay again even for a short stay by the airport. Breakfast was fine but not many choices.

We used it as a transit since our flight landed late. The location is 10 mins from the airport however the facilities in our room seemed to be outdated. The staff were excellent and friendly. Also the had breakfast at the cafe next morning which was good

We used to come here all the time but not worth it any more.It is close to the airport, but now that the airport shuttle is no longer included there are other better hotels nearby.Adjoining rooms were handy so we could be together as a family especially managing an infant.The roof top pool has always been great for kids and adults to watch the planes taking off and landing. Unfortunately the pool has been badly maintained or perhaps not been made to standard as I cut my knee on the bottom of the kid pool area where some grout had been applied poorly. My knee bled profusely for a good while as a large section of skin had been scraped off. I also noticed the life rings or floats were missing in case someone was drowning. Best to take care

We booked two rooms and thank god they were adjoining as my son and I could not sleep in our room due to the freezing cold temperature and the loud noise, we had to sleep on the floor in my wife's room which is the last thing you want after a long flight. We called reception about the cold and the loud noise who sent maintenance they pretended to screw something behind the controller which obviously did nothing! The room should not be available and unsafe to be used by guests as it was literally a freezer. We tried to sleep in there but I saw my son was getting sick so we moved into my wife's room who was nursing our infant daughter. Not finished, there is more! My wife's room smelt very badly of sewage coming from the bathroom, the shower temperature could not be regulated and the shower floor was dirty and slippery with mold, very unhygienic. Add to that all the towels are old and very rough! Not the plush soft ones I remember, perhaps they are the same ones, just 10 years old!!The Sovereign used to be called the H Sovereign and had a very good reputation and was always our go to hotel when flying in from Perth. It looks like it has changed hands and has not been maintained, either that or we were given the worst rooms in the hotel.Breakfast we remember as being a wonderful buffet, with western and asian cuisine, the western cooked cuisine was gone and it looks like they cater more for asian tastes, which is fine as we love spicy food. Our son on the other hand could not have any of the cooked food, apart from an omelette. They had a high chair which was good and I was able to buy a decent flat white in the cafe in the front. All up a disappointing experience and will not return or promote the Sovereign as we were not offered any compensation. Looks like they like to take your money and offer a substandard product.

Great property to stay at near the airport. Lovely pool and restaurant. Rooms are abit dated but good value for the price

We had to wait 6 hours for our flight, therefore we found the Sovereign Bali Hotel quite affordable and close to the airport, so we booked the room to freshen up and have some rest. The room was of a good size, so was the bathroom, and the bed was ok.

The pictures from the site were a little bit deceiving.

The staff was great and really kind. The room was spacious and really comfortable

The service

Close to the airport, massages and the ladies doing them were awesome and the sweetest.

Got there at 9:30pm ish - carpet was wet, room smelt like cat, mold on the shower curtain, our rooms view was of the wall next to us and the window had mold all over the other side, got charged 900,000 IDR for a small stain on one of our 2 twin beds (when the price for 1 stain is 450,000 but since we had 2 twin beds we got charged double - um what the heck?!). Pool was great, but the tiles had algae on them and there were small pieces of plastic floating in the water. Break fast buffet was very limited - milk was always empty (top it up sometimes maybe?) bathroom is run down, towel rack almost falling off the wall, hair in the sink when we first got there. Would recommend putting a few (2 or so) spare towels and face/ hand towels in the bathroom. Pillows smelt like mold, aircon smelt like mold. Walls had no insulation so we could hear the people next door to us and the people in the hallway when they got into their rooms late at night. Buttons on the phone didn’t work, the lounge chair next to the bed had hair on it when we got there, elevators smelt moldy. All round just a moldy stay. Wouldn’t recommend all that much.

Easy access to the airport

Very noisy at night, woke up multiple times to people returning from nights out and banging about in their rooms.

We stayed for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-located. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Everything was well taken care of, and we would happily stay again!

Excellent staff. Swimming pool on the roof is really good. It overlooks the airfield so obviously there is some noise but I enjoyed seeing the jets take off. We have a long wait after checking out before our flight and they very kindly let us while away the time in the lounge or cafe or even use the rooftop pool.

Bathroom was musty. I think the extractor fan may not have been working. Staff are investigating so shouldn't be a problem in future.

I like that it is very near to airport and Khrisna.

Some of the things and walls in the room are rusty. Not too clean.

It was for the price we paid. The hotel was close to the airport.The Japanese restaurant downstairs was excellent.
