Sunrise Gili Air

Amazing location ideal for snorkeling within 30m beautiful pool and beach , gardens everything was good including breakfast.

Adi and the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accomodate us. I can’t speak highly enough about them. Bed was very comfortable. Air con worked well. Location is fantastic.

Unfortunately, Sunrise has provided false advertising. The resort is EXTREMELY run down. The pool was green, so no swimming for us. The fridge froze any drinks or food we put into it, so we couldn’t use that for the week either. the garden beds are full of weeds, the chairs in the restaurant area were broken and had holes in them. One night we had rain and go woken to rain dripping onto our heads and in multiple other areas of the bungalow. The concrete around the resort desperately needs patching or replacing. The trees and gardens need to be cleaned up and maintained. The curtains on the bungalow windows were too small for the windows so we didn’t have complete privacy. The kitchen for the restaurant was filthy. There were no more than 4 staff working each day throughout the whole resort (absolutely not their fault). This resort has got so much potential, and if the managers/owners put in a little effort and money, it would absolutely be worth the money we paid to stay here, but as it is, it’s extremely overpriced and honestly, we feel mislead by the photos and description and photos on booking.com and ripped off.

Breakfast could be improved with fresher hot options and pool could be cleaner.

The place is very well situated and really close to the beach, it has some surely some great potential. The rooms are big, nicely decorated and the beds very comfortable. The swimming pool is also nice. Close to restaurants

Unhappily the place upkeep is not very good, breakfast is terrible and the waiters and cleaners are wearing dirty clothes. As stated before, a lot of potential, but need some serious review.

That you were only allowed one coffee with breakfast then the second was charged to room and only given two small bottles of water a day

Location was good

The ressort was built in 1992, nothing has changed since then.It was scruffy, unitidy, not cleaned properly.The staff, who were not trained at all, were oblivious to all of this. The breakfast food ran out and was also cold. This is not a 4star, I would not even make it a 2star.There was no fresh water, only sea water. See photos.

The place is dirty, sheets& towels dirty , the public toilet filthy, overpriced for the place ,

The accommodation was in the best location on the island. Easy to walk to from the ferry, excellent views while eating breakfast and the coral reef in front of the property was excellent.

The location was okay as right by the beach

The property was VERY rundown and the photos on booking.com didn’t represent what the property was actually like. The bathrooms were VERY dirty and it was VERY disappointing as we saw other properties on Gili Air that were so much better. I will put a review on the website as well. We left a day earlier as we had had enough and went to Kuta. Not happy but I suppose this will fall on deaf ears.

Great position, within easy walking distance from the port. Right on the beach with beautiful views of the ocean. Fabulous staff

Some of the disused bits were scruffy. It would be easy to block them off so guests didn’t see them.

Everything dirty and dated. Looks nothing like the pictures. The toilets beside reception are the worst I’ve ever seen. And breakfast is not even worth showing up at. The only thing this hotel had going for its self are the staff. All local and brilliant. It’s not their fault the hotel is in shocking shape. The owners need to either need to close or update the pictures to show it barely meets hotel standardsYet again the staff were brilliant. And they did the best they could while working for a poorly managed hotel owner.

Beautiful location and the top dec of the bungalows with hammocks were really nice

Price definitely a bit too high for what you get, staff were sometimes hard to get a hold off and not always very helpful (tried to organize a birthday cake for my husband but the told be to figure it out myself basically)

Overall the property is well located and has a nice beachfront where you can admire a beautiful sunrise and also do snorkeling. Rooms located in a Very relaxing and quiet area. Pool was really nice. Breakfast well served. Great hotel manager : We had a problem and he was very quick in resolving the problem!

We booked 2 rooms, in one room the air conditioning didn’t work properly while in another the hot water was missing. Cleaning could have been done a little better and one of staff could speak good English so communication was a little difficult causing misunderstandings

We loved our stay at Sunrise resort. It is true that it is a bit rustic/run down and somewhat overpriced, but once you get past that it is really charming and lovely. We loved the pool and the beach, excellent snorkelling with a couple of turtles right in front of hotel. The location is fabulous and the staff are lovely. Breakfast buffet was nice (kids loved the Nutella!).We would be very happy to come back here. Don’t forget to actually watch the sunrise!

In this price range I would have liked a water refill station, and a better selection of tea/coffee options in the room.

Passable

Hotel is super different from the pictures... Not clean... Very dark area...There's no sun in the territory..Rooms very old and the sink in the room was disgusting...all in the rust! For amount we paid... our expectations was failed( Beach coushin was horrible and old ... Hopefully we spend only few nights there...

Right on beachfront and the bed was surprisingly really comfortable, staff were really friendly.

Some extra measures to help with mosquitoes, maybe a net round the bed, Include repellent. Sheets did not seem that clean.

Couldn't be happier with our stay. Beautiful location, friendly staff, good vibes all day long.One of the good diving spots on the island is right out front. I saw a turtle. Good stuff.

It's not a 5 star resort so if you fancy you are in the wrong place.
