Clean room, good bed and good restaurant

Despite being an older motel, the interior and standard of our room was immaculate. The rooms have been updated. Everything was clean, fresh and comfortable. The rooms sizes are very generous. The bed was very comfy and there was ample supplies of tea, coffee, biscuits etc plus soaps. The domestic lady was very friendly. We did not hear the traffic noise, even though it was a busy road. We were able to walk to the bowls club nearby for a very nice meal.

The checkin was a bit tricky but we did receive assistance from the motel nearby (even though we felt that we had inconvenienced her). My husband could hear the toilet dripping all night but the domestic help said that a tradie had been called.

This is a very nice, clean, tidy Motel, close to the town center and river walk.Our room was comfortable for 2 people, a good bathroom and shower and an outside table and chairs, very pleasant.The area is quite spectacular with it's beaches and river and there is a small area close by called "New Italy" which we found very interesting and very well presented.

It was a little difficult to prepare breakfast, not much area to do so but we managed and I knew it was toaster, kettle, microwave so not complaining, just noting.

Proximity

Pool was dirty. Soft mattress.The reception at colonial motel was closed , there was a note to inform that it has moved to Ballina homestead instead, a couple of metres away. We didn’t get message regarding checking in instructions till 12.06 hr and 12.20hr respectively vis sms and e mails because we were driving along highway and couldn’t stop.A person ( may be a guest ) at Colonial motel with a red Nissan micro asked us to go to reception at the Ballina homestead instead. The middle aged lady at the homestead reception was so rude and condescending and told us we came to the wrong hotel. Despite telling her we didn’t check the message because we were driving , she said we should have stopped to check the message . Very impolite lady .It would be nice if the current ways of checking into the motels are published at booking.com , so that guests can anticipate and read the instructions before leaving .

Clean and modern decor, and guests’ room cards double as a members card for discounts at local bowls club

Good size and very clean and comfortable unit. We liked Ballina. Meal at close by bowling club was great.

Location good & very quiet at night. Good to have somewhere to eat not too far & that you can walk.

Walls a bit thin, we could hear the neighbour snoring, and the cars passing in front of thr motel.

All the facilities were great

Did not see any staff - was a public holiday - so not sure if this was the reason but had a code to get in and had to drop key back in box - missed a friendly reception staff greeting us and saying goodbye

Handy location; very clean and plenty of space; very quiet; love the complimentary biscuits which were great with tea after a long drive in heavy rain.

Had to move toaster and kettle to bench near tv where there was no power point as their storage area was small. The fridge wasn’t cold enough and freezer not working.

Exceptionally clean & comfortable. Good location. Well equipped for a short stay. Clear information regarding facilities for guests. Easy check in and check out.

Very happy with my room,very clean,renovated and spacious room with fluffy new towels, a comfortable bed and a silently and efficiently working a/c. Very nice and friendly staff and manager/owner. Will be back next year!
