The Cubana Ballina

The room was very budget, an overpowering smell of chlorine bleach in room. This did not go away. Turned on the air-cond full all night it did not help . Were booked to stay 2N stayed only 1nite. Wanted to get an NCIS kit - and check for crime scene.

Staff unhelpful when we called to get the free-wifi in the evening at approx 8pm - said we would have to wait until morning 8:30am - So we did not get free-wifi and departed without staying 2nd nite. Not recommended to stay here

Bed was comfortable and the room clean and bright. Fairly close to the centre and the airport by car.

Quite a bit of road noise and parking was tight

Very clean, great little pool area, staff were lovely.

Well located and great room. Road traffic calmed down before bed time so no issues!

Good location. A few klms from Exit off freeway. Food, pubs, cheaper petrol (than service centre especially) nearby. Quite rooms, good size. Easy later check in.

It was conveniently located a short distance to the airport. The room was quickly and easily accessible. The staff were very accommodating

Very clean & comfortable. Food available close. The bonus was the outside lights were turned off at 9.30 providing a dark room to get a great night's rest.

It was a retro motel very cute newly renovated and had real charm. Close to everything in Ballina.

Not much wrong

Very clean and colourful. Modern decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only negatives where the parking spaces are VERY tight, and being right on River Sfreet there was quite a bit of traffic noise. Would stay again.

Staff were amazing, pool was beautiful and room was slightly on the small side but perfect anyway.

I appreciated checking in earlier than normal.

The location didn't suit me, was quite a walk into the actual town. Didn't really like the fake Cuban theme, was very cheesy and didn't disguise it from being a roadside motel.

It was dirty. The floor of the room hadn’t been cleaned. There were three different bugs in the room. There was no staff on site. We were told our room key gave us access to kitchen and laundry facilities. There were no sign posts and we couldn’t find any facilities. Bad value for money.

A fab stay at The Cubana! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in any hotel that was as clean and well maintained. Comfy well equipped rooms, and a lovely pool. An easy stroll into Ballina and great communication!

The woman who ran the breakfast wagon was extremely nice. The room was OK. Bare bones.

They cheated me. I extended for a 2nd night. They billed my card for the rack rate rather than the agreed upon 1st night rate. They also charged me a credit card fee for the 1st night even though it had been fully prepaid prior to my arrival with all fees and taxes included. They also charged me for their commission payable to Booking.com. I discussed the discrepancies with the desk manager who refused to asjust the bill to the proper amount. They cheated me.
