Bombora Resort

Good price, and good location for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

The absence of any staff during my stay was something that I still need to get used to. Arrival was managed by a touch screen and work ok, but it is less friendly.

it was central to the beach and shops

the showers had mould all around and very small. furniture needed updateing. i hope the rest of the rooms were cleaner.hope they decide to spend some money on it to upgrade.

Good value and comfortable. Plenty of coffee sachets. Beds were nice. Helpful staff member in the morning. I would stay there again.

Wifi didn't work, but I had my own. Outside light on balcony didn't work. It would be a good idea to send a map with details of the entrance from the park for those walking from town.

Convenience, good value

Nothing to like, because nothing was there. We arrived at the property in anticipation of our two night stay, and found a construction site. Apparently Bombora Resort was demolished in October 2021. We had no word from booking.com about this, and you can imagine trying to get two nights accommodation in a top tourist resort at the beginning of January was virtually impossible. We tried extensively to find somewhere and after visiting many properties to no avail, managed to get the last room available at the Sebel. At a cost of $450 per night, normally $470, we had no choice to take it, and disappointed with what they thought was deluxe and our interpretation of deluxe. Very disappointed with booking.com. Very.

Would have been better if the resort existed

The location

There was no toliet paper, no towels, the room was so dirty, the staff didn’t respond to any communication about the room having no amenities.

The bed was comfortable and the room was of a good size. It was lucky there was a balcony to be able to sit outside.

A sink in the bathroom would have been appreciated. A microwave would have been handy. A table to sit at would also have been appreciated. We were lucky there was a small table on the balcony. We wouldn’t have been able to use it in inclement weather though.

The Location

We booked a three bedroom apartment and turned up and got a room that had a double and a single in at this caused a bit of stress for our family as we could all stay together and given the time of year they had to stay further up the coast which was very inconvenient there was no apology for taking a booking 12 months earlier and our money we’ve not been able to get any sort of refund they just don’t respond to our phone calls and booking.com haven’t been successful in giving us a response. We stayed here for two nights and couldn’t get a hot shower other guests complained about the same thing when we saw them in the car park.

Bad

Booked for a Sat and Sun night when Cooly Rocks on the festival was on. Virgin cancelled our flight saturday morning. I tried to call the property to let them know and cancel and hopefully they could rebook given it was such a big weekend there. Despite leaving numerous voice messages and sending numerous emails I am still yet to hear back from the property. Charged over $300 a night for room and yet cant answer a phone at any time of day or night! My booking was non-refundable but given that the flight was cancelled and unable to get on another flight until saturday night it was not worth the trip. Had they been available perhaps it could have been rebooked or perhaps it even was. Who would know? They take your money and thats the end of it. No service available whatsoever.
