    Pros +

    • Accommodating and helpful staff, location and grounds.
    • Beautiful and peaceful setting with exceptionally quiet rooms, comfy beds and good sized bathrooms. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good with an ample selection each morning. The night we had dinner at the restaurant both the menu and wine list had good examples of local produce, the food was delicious and the service was friendly and professional. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and took a few walks in the beautiful gardens.
    • Great location, friendly staff and enjoyable night in the grand hall and restaurant. A peaceful place to stay and relax. The restaurant was very enjoyable.

    Cons -

    • The Queen Highland Room did not meet our expectations, but the hotel staff kindly gave us a complimentary upgrade to a more suitable room.
    • No hairdryer in the room, not a deal breaker for us but it would have helped in getting ready. I'm sure I could have requested one, but it was early in the morning when I wanted it and I couldn't be bothered asking for one then.
    • The resort was nice, but felt a little 'tired'. I think the place needs a little refreshing; that said it was still an enjoyable stay.

    AccommodationLocation

Dinner menu and drinks were very expensiveOn Friday night we had major problems with the guests next doorThey came back from a wedding under the influence of alcoholWe tried to ring reception at 11.30 pm to complain of the noise but the phone was not workingI personally confronted the guests but the noise still did not abateI rang reception on main number at 1.00am and managed to get a hold of someone who said that she will talk to the guestsFinally after another hour the noise stoppedGuests who are causing trouble because of alcohol abuse should get one warning and if they don't stop the police should be contacted

Wait staff were exceptionally polite and helpful.

A little maintenance required - plaster falling off and a little shabby in places. Tennis courts not really playable

A very relaxing welcoming stay at Peppers Manor house. Great friendly service by the staff, delicious food, and comfortable room will return.

The grounds were absolutey beautiful and well kept. Breakfast was also nice, room spacious and comfortable. Staff were super friendly ad helpful

Things are definitely a little tired and need updating for the price, however it didn't impact our stay

Staff super friendly and helpful, beautiful breakfast. The house, grounds, location and story of the property were suburb. Well done team.

Billiards, tennis courts, restaurant, animals around

Piano is not maintained anymore. No one to assist for medical reasons at night time in reception. The place looks dusty and not well maintained as before.

The location was pretty and close to an event we were attending.

The room we were allocated smelt strongly of damp; the furniture was mismatched, cheap and worn; the heater was choked thick with dust; our ‘garden room’ had a view of a retaining wall and dirt just feet from our only window; the shower dribbled and the plug in the bath leaked the water out quicker than I could wash and the dining room was so cold that we ate breakfast with our coats on. The reception staff said they would come back to us when we shared our experience on checking out … we paid full rate and are still waiting for them to come back to us more than 2 weeks later. Never again! The website photos are extremely misleading: the photos I took tell the actual story.

The hotel has a beautiful and spacious outdoor area with a nice swimming pool. It's quiet and great for chilling out -ideal for retired guests or those travelling with young kids

The breakfast was average, the room was small with no good view, and the price was too high for what was offered. The staff were also not very kind or welcoming.

    2EmmaPosted on: 4-20-2025

    Very poor

The bathroom had a sewage smell, and the toilet basin was filling very slowly. The room was stuffy, the furniture is very dated. The fish pond had stale water and there was no fish. There are many potholes on the road. The food in the restaurant was not satisfactory. The staff didn't look happy This hotel has lost its charm and it's terribly deteriorated.

BreakfastThe grounds, good for walks, the trees. Loved the rabbits. The pool room, good fun.The room was basically good, a couple of small issues. The staff were very nice and helpful.

No folder explaining what is available and games on offer. Also how to use the TV, which is way too complicatedNo cupboard space for clothes, had to live out of our suitcases.More space needed in the bathroom to lay out your toiletries.

Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable room and great breakfast.

Nice room in the main house. Good breakfast. Lovely grounds and gardens.

The installation of electric vehicle destination chargers at the property needs to be seriously considered if they want to cater to the increasing EV cliental.

    Old world charm, comfortable bed

No toiletries or shower cap. Seating in the room was very uncomfortable and hard to relax.

    9RobynPosted on: 4-1-2025

Loved the olde English feel, the space, the history, the gardens, the quietness, the fire in main hall for reading at night. Everything felt very welcoming.

Getting wet going from Garden wing to main building.

Beautiful location.Dinner was delicious.Staff helpful, especially Mark at Reception

Twin beds requested and confirmed but double bed in room. That was rectified but disappointed it happened in the first place.Shower fixture broke and being the weekend was not repaired so then had to shower in room next door.Breakfast choices were very good but the hot food was just warm and tablecloths would have been nice not bare tables.Overall, the communal areas needed a good vacuum and the manor looked tired and needed an update. It would have been helpful and greatly appreciated to have luggage taken to our upstairs room.A service generally provided elsewhere in up-market hotels/resorts and the like.

The old world charm is Peppers Manor main appeal. The property is beautiful. I would love to hold a wedding there!I loved the main building and its beautiful setting. Actual accommodation is more like an upscale motel. Comfortable but basic. Breakfast choices were good and the breakfast staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the courtyard area and the pool room.

We chose Peppers Manor because we wanted to dine at its highly reputed Katers Restaurant. We messaged in advance to make a reservation but never received a response. Imagine our disappointment to find that the restaurant was closed (because it was New Year's Day) and they were offering a very limited menu. Common areas were heavily scented, so much so that we were unable to enjoy the various lounges in the main building.
