Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands

Beds were big and comfortable, the room was spacious, everything clean and nice, the breakfast awesome. Would be happy to get back there again.

Well, as the room was on the ground floor, there was no view.

Clean and big family stay with 2 rooms.

The room was very large, the beds were comfortable, and with the heat pump it was warm. Breakfast was great.

It was a shame not to use the swimming pool but the water was too cold. The corridor to the room was very plain. Some art on the walls or pot plants would improve it greatly. I

Spacious & well equipped room. Represented value for money. Location a short walk from Main Street. Within a couple minutes drive to everything.

Staff weren’t rude but also not overly friendly. Stains on carpet in hallway and tree nuts etc on steps made it tricky to walk up when raining and wanting to get inside quickly. Bin had tissues in it still from previous occupant.

When I was finally able to check in the staff had changed from earlier and she was amazing.

When I requested an early check in the staff member I spoke with was quite abrupt. The other lady on the counter was lovely and seemed embarrassed by her colleague's response.

Such great value for the rate! Nice comfy beds and very friendly check in. Breakfast was a bit bland but did the truck and nice that the kids ate free. Easy walk to restaurants. TV worked well.

Housekeeping was not good at all. The cups we used, they were only risen, not replaced with clean ones, the reason I know is because they were not even rinsed properly. There were tea stains on the top where the jug is. There were also blood stains on our duvet. There were hairs on the bathroom floor. Very disappointed. Not worth the money we spend. Perfect spot to explore Paihia and the bay of islands. Very good quality beds. High quality restaurant.

Scenic hotel is a good motel to explore the beautiful Bay of Islands. It is a short stroll away from the waterfront. The hotel has a buffet breakfast and a decent restaurant where, apart from a bit of a delay in service the food was good. The rooms were average showing age although the bathroom was clean and modern. The buffet breakfast selection was okay - they cooked poached eggs for us on request - fresh fruits would have been good.

We had an issue with the towels which were stained and appeared not cleaned properly. We had to get them replaced. Even though we booked in advance of the Easter period, we were surprised to see our room was priced cheaper on the day. The chairs on the balcony need replacing and the couches would do better with new upholstery.

Located near waterfront & eateries.Room very spacious with 2 queen beds & small sitting area with patio overlooking garden. All facilities available for a very comfortable stay including laundry facilities. Staff very friendly & helpful

The hotel was in an ideal position, close enough to walk to the beach and to cafes. Our room was big with 2 large beds and had an attractive garden patio outside.

Great central place to stay at, friendly staff and the breakfast was more than enough.

Sleeping on two beds that been put together

Bigger and better than I thought it would be. A very quiet place.

The bathroom fan was pretty loud but only stayed on for an extra couple of minutes, so it was tolerable. Fridge was right next to the bed so we turned it off at night for extra peace and quiet.

Great location, only a short stroll into the pier & town mostly along the foreshore!Staff went out of their way to help with anything we asked for.

The room was clean, beds comfortable and parking right outside our room.
