The Old Oak Boutique Hotel

Hotel employee were fabulous hosts. The hotel was charming and beautifully presented. The location was amazing with undulating scenery and water views. Definitely a romantic and restful stay at this time of year.

We felt it was a little expensive compared to similar establishments we stayed at on our Northland travels.

It would have been good to have access to some basic cooking facilities, even just a microwave.

The location was super handy and the building was done really well. After discussions with the establishment it was not doable to stay for the full booking and a refund is being sort for the one night.

The Totara room had no air con and a mildew smell

A beautiful historic hotel kept in perfect condition in the most serene location but still just a few moments stroll to a few cute little stores and cafe/restaurants. It makes you feel transported back in time.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, in a fantastic location, on the waterfront and a moment’s stroll from the shops, restaurants and cafes of lovely Mangonui. We loved our big, comfortable room and all the thoughtful touches. A perfect place to stay.

Perfect location in Mangonui. A short walk to everywhere. Justine gave us a cool box so we could picnic. And guided us as to where to go. All in all it was perfect.

The Hotel was in a great location overlooking the harbour. Easy walk to shops and places to eat. A number of local walks too. Our room was on the ground gloor with a deck area and access to a very relaxing garden. Well appointed facilities in an historic building. Justin and Jennifer were great hosts and made our group feel very welcome.

The room was spacious comfortable, with a balcony and view to die for. The owners, were knowledgeable and very helpful, lent us beach towels and a cool box for our day on the cape. Thanks for your hospitality.

Nothing negative really.Booked it well aware it is an old property with minimal facilities and a dated building requiring higher cost for maintenance.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Oak. The building itself is gorgeous, a well preserved slice of Mangonui history. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by our hosts. The property exceeded our expectations, the room was beautifully decorated, clean and warm, with a super comfy bed. The property is a short stroll along the boardwalk to some great eateries in Mangonui. Such a lovely romantic place to stay. Highly recommended. We will be back!
