Hotel Shahi Palace - Jaisalmer

Amazing view of the fortress! Gotta be one of the best in the city. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! Khetaram the waiter is wonderful to talk too and totally worth getting to know. He is my friend.

The room was lovely and very clean. The location was excellent, with the rooftop restaurant the perfect place to look out at the fort, which is also lit up in the evening. Staff were helpful.

We spent two nights at Shahi Palace Hotel on 25 and 26 December 2025 and had a wonderful stay.The hotel is really lovely with a great restaurant on the roof top terrace and a wonderful view of the beautiful Fort.The food is delicious North Indian Rajasthani fare with many continental dishes as well. We really loved the food and ate every meal there and they have great breakfasts. They make fantastic omelets ! The staff in the restaurant is very nice and efficient and very quick and give great service . All very attentive .The rooms are very clean and well appointed with lovely Indian decor , very comfortable beds. We spent two nights on 25 and 26 December 2025 and had a wonderful stay .The staff is exceptional, and the owner Devilal and son Akshay who run the hotel and very welcoming and will do their best to acccomodate guests and all their needs.Rooms are clean and well kept with nice clean white sheets and towels .We will definitely be back when in Jaisalmer. ❤️

Great food.

The top terrace restaurant and its seating were dirty though the bathroom attached to the room was clean though tiny. The view all round being close to the fort was not great with terrace tops of all the neighborhood with its dirty ambience. Better to stay away from the fort.

It's a clean and comfortable place. Near the fort. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to help in the night of the hospital emergency.

Hotel is conveniently located just outside fort wall, 500m to gate. I had the superior room with nice fort view. Place is clean, spacious, with cold ac and hot shower, very comfortable for a few nights stay. Staff and owner very accommodating, arranged camel safari, and allowing me to use a retiring room for shower waiting for evening train Wonderful value

Really enjoyed my stay at Shahi Palace. Family run hotel, very friendly and kind staff members, Devilal went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Good restaurant on the rooftop!

Location is very good and has an excellent view of the fort. The host and all staff are very friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed Shahi for 5 nights because I liked the “feel” of the hotel and the location, and I really liked the owner Devi and the rest of the staff. Devi was like a Concierge - helping out with travel plans. The hotel is a real bargain. It is located outside the fort which I like to minimize impact on the fort. The terrace is very nice for a meal and/or a beer.

Nothing negative to say.

- Big room, with nice view on the fort. Clean.- Very nice terrace where having breakfast, drinks, dinner- Walkable distance from the fort- They can organise desert safari or other activities, also for only half a day

- Water pressure very low in the shower.- They provided only 1 towel and no shower gel/shampoo.

I like the Area and the staff who worked there, they made us feel welcome and helped us out with what activities to do.

There was construction going on at early hours in the morning.

The view of the castle, the rooftop terrace as well as the terrace of my room. The staff was very kind and helpful, had a very good stay.

This was my second stay at this wonderful place, and once again, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The highlight for me was the breathtaking view from the rooftop absolutely stunning! Whether its the sunrise, sunset, or the city lights at night, the scenery is just perfect. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Looking forward to returning again.

Perfect Location, yards to the Jaisalmer Fort. Rooftop has an amazing view of the fort. Staff is great and rooms were clean

We didn't like the food. I would rate it a 7/10, breakfast and tea was great.

Great location with cafe overlooking a beautiful side of the fort. Interesting walk to fort entrance and near an ATM.Super clean & beautiful rooms with nice bed covers, art, our had a window looking at fort, informative owner and really nice staff.

Nothing it was great. Cheaper rooms gave internal windows I think but looked just as clean and comfortable.

The lovely staff who were very accommodating and the nice hot shower after a night in the desert.

Hotel is situated at very good location. Public transport is easily accessible. Hotel staff is very helpful and caring.

I stayed 11 nights at Shahi Palace and I just loved it. The owner Devilal is a genial host who is rightly proud of his hotel's reputation. Rather than resting on his laurels, he is always putting the work in to improve things. He really makes guests feel well looked after - for example, on finding out I'm gluten intolerant, he went out of his way to find me local snacks made with gluten free flours to try (they were delicious!) and even made some for me himself as well. He takes takes time to chat to guests, which creates a friendly atmosphere. It's the kind of place where guests talk to each other and you meet interesting people. Akshay, Sunil, Ketharam and the rest of the team do a great job, and their friendly, helpful attitude makes the hotel really stand out.The decor is lovely and there's a fantastic roof terrace restaurant with spectacular fort views. I was definitely glad to be staying outside the fort. For a start, water usage by hotels in the fort is causing serious conservation issues, but also, I just found there was too much tourist hustle in the fort. Visiting the sights there is fine but I wouldn't want to stay in that area. Shahi Palace is in a more peaceful part of town but is only about 10 minutes' walk from the fort gate.The desert trip organised by the hotel was magical. We visited a deserted village, oasis and fort before going for camel ride to the dunes where a tasty dinner was cooked for us in a peaceful spot away from other tourists. We headed back to the hotel for the night, but there was also the option to sleep in the desert under the stars.All in all, a fantastic stay and I would love to come back!

I liked everything!

Lovely hotel just outside the walls of the fort. The fort view rooms are great and the view from the rooftop over the fort and city are wonderful. Very nice restaurant on the roof, staff very friendly and good, especially Khetaram, who we really enjoyed chatting to. The place is family run and all members of the family were really kind helpful, Akshay offering us a lift to the desert festival and helping me sort out the posting of a parcel to Delhi. Would definitely stay here again.
