Springfield Motel and Lodge

Friendly staff, nicely maintained property, walking distance to restaurants. Location hallway between CHCH and Arthur's Pass. Bathroom had heated floors!

Room was small, but cozy. Limited dining options in Springfield

Great place, well stocked kitchen, hot tub outside, jacuzzi inside, decent size room. Honestly I'd stay longer if I knew it was that good

The bunk bed was large. The shared bathroom was large and modern. The shared kitchen was nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Located in a beautiful country side. Large space for our family, facility is very clean and with everything we need. Reception (Amber) is super friendly and helpful.

Bank bed shake when turn over and make noise.

This was one of our favourite properties when staying in New Zealand and even came back a second time. Everything was perfectly clean and the pellet fire was a great addition to keep the room nice and warm. Hosts were amazing and helpful in our stay.

Very friendly hosts, great location for me given I was headed to Arthurs Pass the next morning, very comfortable room.

Nothing to dislike

Loved the 4 bed lodge - comfy couch and beds, nice decor, x3 toilets and x2 showers (amazing pressure), lovely view of mountains and enjoyed relaxing in the spa bath. Amber was great host, even coming over on a chilly night to help us with fireplace.

Other then the bed being uncomfortable the spa and the facilities were great and good value for money

It was so quiet and peaceful. There was parking outside, the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. There was no issue about coming back later in the night to our room. We had one of the best nights sleeps we'd had in a long time!

The room was on the smaller side, the chest of drawers, although pretty, were probably unnecessary for the room due to the limited space available. The most annoying thing was the lack of an obvious hamper to put wet towels in after a shower

Great hotel with good facilities with complete basic kitchenware. Bed is comfortable and the sofa is also good. Pakring area is near the room. We will recommend our friend to this place.

The room was a little noisy with the train, not very sound proof as advertised but can’t fault anything else.

Perfect motel, great shower and beds, helpful owners.

We made a last-minute booking at 7 PM as we needed a place to stay overnight, avoiding the drive up to Brunner due to the approaching storm. Our campervan wasn’t fully equipped for a campsite stay, so we were grateful to find this motel. Amber, our host, was incredibly kind, welcoming, and thorough in showing us around. The facilities—including the rooms, bathroom, and kitchen—were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay comfortable. The only downside was that my sister and I woke up with a few insect bites, though our parents didn’t seem to have the same issue. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Thank you!

This was a last minute booking due to receiving news that Arthur's Pass was closed. The lovely host returned my call despite the late hour and waited for me to arrive. Having expected a backpackers' environment in the Lodge, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and fresh looking everything was, and the cleanliness and attention to detail made it even better. Thank you so much!
