Across from the beach!!! grabbed my coffee in the morning and sat out on a bench. They had everything I needed in the room to have a couple meals. It’s also a very laid-back place, chairs, and tables out front each room and everyone was so friendly. Though not right in town couple of nice coffee shops nearby with good food choices. Short walk into town.

If anything, the walls were maybe a bit thin. Everybody snores.!!! but quiet took over after 11 PM.

We have stayed here before and both times we found the unit we had to be very clean. Unfortunately this was not the case this time.

Location

Large group of young fellas making a fair bit of noise but to their credit they were quiet by 10pm. No power points in the kitchen except ones on the sides of the stove. Lack of easily accessible power points in the bedroom - needed to move the bed to access 1 power point. Had to park the car away from the unit. Mobility issues

the unit was warm. Location very close to shore. View from beach side road is as good as any in this world.

the fold out couch for the kids was not very comfy- my fault because I didnt check listing thoroughly enough. Grounds were covered in stone metal with very little greenery which made it feel like a parking lot. Walls thin and so can hear guests in neighboring room. There are no views from the lodgings but understand if there were then the price would be much higher

For the queen bed, one side of the electric blanket doesn’t work. It was raining day and heavy wind. the temperature is only -4 at night. Very cold.

Clean and tidy motel with full kitchen facilities.

Owner was a bit grumpy. Second bedroom had two beds squeezed into it so difficult to access the powerpoint and draw the curtains.

Lovely friendly lady at reception, very welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed. Location is good only a few minutes from the CBD, no road noise and across the road from Kaikouras beautiful beach.

The pillows were too soft for my liking, but thats a personal preference no fault of establishment. The male proprietor was not very friendly he would do better not engaging with the visitors, his way of communicating was borderline on rude. But overall was an enjoyable stay.

Great location and views. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to work with and answer questions.

A bit better clean would have achieved top marks. Timing was after Easter and area super busy so probably a deep clean not viable.

Sofa bed was VEWY uncomfortable

Grand place - staff were very welcoming and good. Unit itself was fine, bathroom was very clean and decent size etc. There was a slightly odd smell in the main room - I think from cleaning products having been used heavily to disguise a spill - but it was all fine. Parking was excellent and really safe, wee kitchen in room was well appointed and tea and coffee was great. Really central location for the town centre etc, bit of a walk, but chances of seeing dolphins jumping are pretty high!

The pull out couch bed was very uncomfortable with the springs protruding out of the mattress.Motel room not very clean …bathroom mirror hadn’t been cleaned on arrival and 2 mugs I got out to use in the kitchenette were dirty.

Units a bit pokey. Hard bed.

Good location across from the beach. Fan in bathroom didn’t work and very small single beds jammed into second bedroom. Very happy for full kitchen facilities and clean towels changed daily.
