Advertised it had wifi but what it didn't say was that no wifi in the lodge. Also the rooms desperately need a makeover

Location is good.

Exactly what we wanted. Restaurant was nice too. And we'd forgotten all our stuff in the fridge and they made quick contact for us to pick up before we left Reefton

From the moment we arrived I was greeted with a nice friendly smile.Room was basic,but that's what I paid for was comfortable and clean.

We ate out for breakfast - coffee and a bun

It looks a bit bland on the outside but otherwise great

cramped accommodation, very disappointing

the accommodation block at the rear of the hotel where all the bedrooms are is purpose built , clean and modern BUT oh so very cramped!, what were they thinking when they built this? one room with a double bed and a single bed at the side and 1 easy chair and 1 small office type was just too cramped. There was a kettle and a toaster in the room on a small sideboard with a few plates to use to make some toast but trying to prepare anything more would have been impossible, it would be ok for 1 person on their own perhaps but any more than that there was just insufficient space. The sink in the small bathroom was about half normal size and of little use to wash anything in. An expensive stay in a very poorly designed unit, not good at all, we will not be returning

Great location for our needs.Friendly service from all staff and very helpful.Our burgers from the restaurant were very tasty . Netflix was very easy to connect to..Thanku.

Property was in a great location. Easy walking to restaurants and cafes. The town itself is interesting. Room was clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Quiet rooms, good shower. Beds good, Handy location. Great selection of plugs for chargers with a splitters provided. The motel rooms are behind d the hotel.

Room a little tight with double and single which we asked for but that was standard configuration judging by the roo. Next to us. Not a complaint, just saying, the bathroom was very spacious.. Pillows were to fat and firm for me but that is personal.

The staff inside the bar and restaurant were very nice. We have stayed in Reefton many times as we just love how friendly the locals are.There are great running tracks close to town.Our kids love Reefton and its history snd its always been a special place for us. We always eat in Dawson's.

This stay, instead of an airbnb, we thought we would try the accommodation at Dawson's. It was the 23rd of Dec. We had just finished hiking the heaphy track and thought we would treat ourselves to a night here before heading home to work over Christmas. From the moment we arrived, I found the staff member we meet rude. He greeted us coldly and explained that we didn't book a family room and there was none available for us. I said I booked online for 5 ppl 2 adults 3 children and the childrens ages were added at the time of booking. I booked the option it gave us.I showed him our booking reference and receipt. At this point, it seemed there was no room for us! I asked him plainly if we had a room, and he said yes , then I asked if our room slept 5. After much back and forth, he confirmed yes indeed our room slept 5.He went on to say yes, our room slept 5, but it wasn't one of the family rooms as such! It was all very unnecessary and confusing. He then asked me for payment , and I again showed him our booking receipt, which showed I had already paid. He wasn't convinced but eventually reluctantly gave us our key. The room itself was fine, the sheets were cheap on beds and facilities tired but that is not something I have ever commented on before and usually wouldn't worry us but after such a let down of a check in and the hefty price for 1 nights accomidation I felt it worth mentioning.I'll still come to Reefton, but I'll stick to other accommodation on offer.I whole heartedly recommend a trip or stay in Reefton and just as whole heartedly recommend you do not stay here.

Staff were friendly especially the lady behind the bar she was so helpful and friendly and really made us feel welcome Food was amazing.

Location, good accommodation, clean and quiet

The bed was good to sleep in

It had a damp smell and the shower was not very good

We booked the family suite. Initially I thought oh no I stuffed up with only 3 people, however we had loads of space to really chill. Actually we saved money, as cooked own kai and drank our own drinks as we enjoyed the private outdoor space in the sun. Was a win!!

Despite booking.com saying check in was 2pm, no-one was there and I had to ring.
