Pros +
- The location was great with Daniel Bay almost at the back door, was great to have the wood fire and ready to light and wood in the basket. The unit was clean well presented. It was well equipped however a laundry would have been good. Wildlife great!
- Calm with lots of wildlife, lots of space in the holiday home
- Good location. Comfortable beds. Very Quiet.
Cons -
- Only the lack of laundry facilities
- Wobbly bed
- The explorers cottage is pretty old, very basic. There is a mini split AC/heat in the living room only, not in the bedrooms.

Surprisingly well set up, compact demountable type Cabin 1. At the back of the hotel which had an unexpected good meal. View across the road to the water
Was surprised that Cabin 1 was a demountable at the back of the hotel, basically the car park. More expensive accommodation further up the hill.
It is so beautiful and clean. Such a cozy little cottage overlooking the ocean. There were even wallabies there to greet us. Such a beautiful gem of a place.
Beautiful units. Cozy and well equipped.
Wishing the restaurant stayed open a bit later or was open for breakfast.
Quiet and cosy house
there was no washing machine at the explorer cottage
Big spacious house, good for a large family
The electric heater mulfuntioned, as it was winter, it was a little chilly in the house.
Clean house, decent location,
A mess outside the property; kids stuff strewn across back yard; kayaks in backyard but didn't know if we could use them; no information in the house on Bruny Island, if we had to leave the key there at the end, or what we could use. Kitchen pans were limited - no frypan but heaps of small saucepan. The advertisement or booking did not stipulate it was 8km from Hotel Bruny.
Has a pub at the front of the hotel for meals but only lunch and breakfast. Quite and waterfront location.
Away from everything or a township, requests travelers to wash their own dishes really this is wrong they are responsible for hygienically cleaned dishes. Can you trust outgoing traveler's to do this job!
The views were sensational, the bed very comfortable and the location was great. We had our best meal at the hotel too.
The fire place. Even though we had to chop the wood and collect kindling.
It was very run down and poorly maintained. The furniture was extremely uncomfortable with the outdoor furniture actually rotting and unusable.
Location and view
No screen on the front or back door in warm weather this is a problem
Plenty of parking, great facilities at the townhouses, super clean and comfy beds.
Check in at the Bruny Hotel was unusal as you had to line up behind people ordering food and drinks to pick up the keys to where we were staying.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here due to a number of factors. Firstly the room we had was new, basic in a number of ways but had everything you needed. However, what we loved was the balcony looking out to sea. Although it was set back from the edge, the large balcony allowed us to sit out at night and enjoy the quiet, the amazing array of stars and the feeling of being along way from home. As well, the place was close to the pub, far enough away to be quiet but within easy walking distance to enjoy the amazing food on its menu. The place also was centred well for exploring the wonderful island.
Enjoyed the design of the cabin and outlook. Dinner at the Pub was delicious and great range of local beers and ciders.
The view was lovely and the little seat by the window was nice.
Check in and check out times could have been more generous.
Good value for money, clean and great location
No rubbish bin and unable to let staff know when we wanted the room cleaned.
We liked the experience of staying in a church conversion. Warm and spacious and close to Bruny Island attractions.
It wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it. High ceilings with big thick cobwebs, tops of curtains were dusty and it had a closed in smell, not freshly cleaned smell. No soap and only one toilet roll for family of four. Lucky we had our own supplies.
Dinner at the property was most enjoyable - was very busy so advised to book.
Couldn't log into Wi-Fi and the TV would not work despite receiving fresh batteries from reception. Not of huge importance to us.
