Pros +
- Helpful friendly staff. Yumo bangers and mash (huge serve)
- The breakfast was good great location and friendly staff
- I had a wonderful stay, the staff were all very friendly and the room and bathrooms were clean and functional. Perfect for a solo traveller or couple heading to derby. Delicious fruit toast for breakfast.
Cons -
- It was raining when we arrived ;-)
- The music playing till late no tv in the room and needs some kind of a shower door to stop your clothes from getting wet
- I locked my key in my room one morning -my own silly fault but would be helpful if there was an after hours emergency contact for such occasions

Rooms were tidy, Bathrooms were clean. The location was perfect for access to the MTB trails. The staff in particular were friendly and very helpful. Will stay there again!
Delighted to see an old pub, restored and in use, as accommodation, as it should be.Some people may dislike the shared bathroom, but we had no issues with meeting strangers at the loo, in the middle of the night!
Location was very good, breakfast was available also.
Any noise upstairs was heard in my room pretty clearly
While an old building, it has been renovated really well. Also very clean.
Nothing. All was good. Good value.
Great help from Jess, to allow early access and storage of bike and luggage.
Location is central to town. Room was very clean and pleasant to stay in. No aircon but the window opened and had good flyscreens (on first floor). Good after hours access. Breakfast room available 24/7. Nice.
Nothing, really - it's a good, clean pub.
Great staff, great breakfast, nice pub meals and beautiful location beside river.
The shower facilities were fine but a bit weird it was mixed genders and this was not available information on booking. Staff in the bar were lovely!
Room was absolutely tiny, picture was not representative. Expensive for what it was.
It’s exactly what you pay for! Tidy, clean and in a great location. Excellent beer selection and meals also!
It was a great spot to rest during our road trip around Tassie. We enjoyed the location, being near to the bike park and that the hotel had a nice beer garden to sit and enjoy a local pint.
Nice and clean, friendly staff
The other patrons causing a brawl and not being able to sleep
Friendly staff. Good food and drinks in the bistro and bar. Swim in the river at the back.
Room was a bit warm. We had to sleep with the door and window open.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.Comfortable bed, best pillow, could have been cleaner.
No air conditioning in room, had to open windows, hotel right on major highway, very noisy with late and early morning traffic
Hotel was close to bike trails and a short walk to town and more restaurants. Our room was spacious with lots of windows and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast, although very limited in options, was nice to have. The restaurant on the first floor was very good and obviously super convenient.
The hotel itself is old and common areas could use a makeover and a deep cleaning.
Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Excellent meal, local beer on tap. Modern bathroom.
This is an historic pub with basic rooms upstairs. The rooms are very clean, the four pillows very comfortable as is the bed. There’s a small bedside table, a lamp anda double PowerPoint, and a cheap frame to hang your clothes. There isn’t a mirror or painting on the walls. But it’s clean and you can open the window.
A mirror in the room would help and a house hair dryer you could borrow. The breakfast room is very nice, but the breakfast provided is very basic. The bread is the cheapest supermarket bread, and the cereals are very cheap. Adding a coffee machine, pod or otherwise, and maybe an egg boiler and eggs, and some sourdough bread and muesli would improve the breakfast.
Breakfast provided GF options. Dinner was superb as it was last time. Room was very clean. Bar and kitchen staff were very good and service was quick.
The doorknob felt like it was about to fall off in room 4. In hindsight I would request a room further back as the street was noisy. It was during peak season so noise levels were higher than when I travelled there in August. The chia pudding I think was off as it had a sour taste so I did not finish it (sorry chef it was a great idea!) Maybe someone forgot to throw out earlier.
