Cons -

  • Not really as described. It was a room in someone’s house. Not much privacy for some rooms as you walk in front of their window . Bathroom was down a corridor. Room was small. Kettle in a cupboard. Kitchen was shared and a 50m walk. Not the boutique room i expected for the price. See photo for sea view! Garden getting over grown which spoiled view. What worries me most is that 4 people turned up that she had double booked! They were turned away at 6pm on a bank holiday weekend to go and find another places to stay….. poor them , glad it wasn’t me. Evidently this is happening on a regular basis since Covid! Owner blames all bad press and anything going wrong on booking systems , so be aware you may not be booked in!
  • Smell in the 2nd bedroom, musty. Opened window and it went. Branches scratching on garage accommodation sounded like rodents which was noted in a previous review. This affected sleep as it was windy at the time.To fix that, would be to trim the greenery which is over growing on the bathroom window. We didn’t see the owner before leaving or we would have mentioned it.
  • The king suites etc look as expected.Disappointed with the ‘family / 2 bedroom unit’.Was not what we were expecting from the advert, but was clean and comfortable. Apart from the second bedroom. The smell was so overwhelming despite having the window open. Then we heard noises in the roof space and running up the wall (these are not the bushes, I went out and checked). The host was unaware of the smell and when advised she let the 3 of us in the king room as we could not sleep in the space a second night. However, it was disruptive, especially with children. The second bedroom is more of a “sleep out” and needs to be advertised as such.

Lovely location. Comfortable beds, clean in room, kitchen area had everything you need.Host was accommodating and helpful and managed concerns the best she could.

The Seaview room was very comfortable, had a great outlook, and was well appointed. Anne is a lovely host. It is a quick drive to the Moeraki tavern for hearty meals and cold beer.

No dislikes. All met expectations.

The host was very nice and made sure I had everything I needed. She gave me a tour and showed me where things were in the community.

beautifully clean setout suite .

The suite is divided into two with the king suites entrance takes them directly pass the queen three lounge and the bedroom windows.

Nice host, good location.

Not consistent with the reviews. Room was a converted garage. Cold and could hear rats running in the roof. Was not a good night’s sleep. Very disappointing for the money paid.

Large rooms, lots of natural light. Seating area with view to the ocean on the front rooms. Beautiful garden and private entrance. Lots of different spaces to relax. Great shared kitchen and thoughtful touches. Small Kitchenette in each room.

Lots of cushions and pillows on beds, it was hard to figure out where to put these. Nothing else I didn't like, it was a great place to stay.

It was available. Host was pleasant and the room was clean.

Expectations were not met. We booked a “suite” with kitchenette, so did not expect a bedroom with a couch and a cupboard with a kettle and no sink. This is advertised as “boutique” with a price to match so we found it very expensive for what was presented.

From the moment my husband and I arrived at Noah's, we felt instantly relaxed and welcomed by the beautiful owner Leonie. We felt like we had arrived at at a family members home so warmly welcomed.Leonie asked questions to establish that we had everything we might need, and also advised where to eat and what was delicious from the menu. We would eat at Fleur's, however, though we were disappointed as Fleur's is closed , we absolutely loved our evening and meal at the Moreaki Tavern. It was literally a stones throw away also.We woke to birds on the outside table and in the tree in our wonderful sea view room.We strongly advise anybody and everybody to stay with this wonderful lady in her wee part of Paradise.Thank you again Leonie, Tony and I look forward to staying with you again xx

Wish we had more time and could have stayed longer.

We loved everything about Noah's, from the hospitality of the owner, to the cleanliness & tidyness of the room, the beautiful view, to the complete facilities. It was a perfect stay at Moeraki.

Nothing, really.

We were only there about 12 hours, so it is hard to write this review. We liked the location. It was on a quiet street and close to the sites we wanted to visit in the area. Our host was very friendly and even encouraged us to visit another site that we were unaware of until seeing the sign while driving from Dunedin. There was a large communal kitchen, but we did not stay long enough to use it. There were 2 bedrooms, but the main one was a bit small. The neighborhood was quiet. The place was very clean. We appreciated that our host was a little flexible on the checkout time, but we were able to leave before checkout after all.

There was a mix-up on our arrival time and our host was not there when we arrived. We were able to reach her after dinner, so no real harm there, just a bit of nervousness on our part. There was only parking for 2 cars in the driveway, but there were 3 cars, so one ended up parking on the street.

Excellent location. Beautifully decorated rooms, spotlessly clean - we had a mini apartment with separate bedroom (with quality linen), ensuite and small lounge with TV and sea views. Local tavern has a great menu and is just a few minute’s drive. Chocolate almonds were a lovely welcoming touch.

The selection of coffees and teas, and the outside bath

Room felt and smelt a bit damp. Smell may have been from outside? so closed bathroom window. Wifi was iffy.

9NicolePosted on: 1-29-2025

Location was central to the things we wanted to see. Comfortable room with plenty of space and the host was lovely!

Nothing to be honest it was exactly as we expected.

Very friendly welcome. Made to fee right at home. Quiet, clean, plenty of space for veranda sitting, kitchen. Just a short drive from boulders and harbour and easy access to main road.
