Pros +

  • The apartment management is outstanding. Both YEI and Maria are outstanding. YEI was great for taking care of the reservations and for facilitating my arrival time, etc. I actually ended up extending and staying longer and YEI was great in extending my reservation and for offering to transfer me to the second apartment to facilitate the additional days that I needed, because the apartment was already pre-booked for the last 3 days that I needed. And Maria was super exceptional in checking with me regularly to change out towels and bed sheets and anything else that I needed. Again, YEI and Maria were super excellent in making my stay pleasant and convenient.

Cons -

  • There are two things that I did not like, but neither of them are within the control of the management. The greatest challenge that I had with staying in this hotel is the noise. The apartment sits right on the main thoroughfare road and the buses pass by like every 5 minutes or less and they often stop right in front of the apartment to pick up or let passengers off; and the buses are loud. But it's not only the buses, but also the motorcycles pass by regularly and they're very loud, dogs are sometimes barking for periods of time during the night. So, my first couple of nights were very challenging, because I'm very noise conscious. But after a couple of days, I found some ear plugs and they worked just fine and allowed me to sleep through the night. So, just bring a nice comfortable pair of ear plugs for the noise at night and you'll be fine. The second thing that I didn't like is the location. But again, this is out of the control of management. The apartment sits at the top of two hills that you must climb (if you choose to walk) and they are steep hills even for me and I'm a fitness junkie. But IF you don't have any interest in walking, the public transportation is outstanding. As I mentioned, the buses pass by like every 5 minutes or so and oftentimes, they pass by with 2 and 3 buses literally lined up one behind the other. I prefer walking whenever I can and I dreaded climbing up those "mountains every day. But Villamaria and Manizales are towns/cities built on mountains. So, there are hills/mountains in all directions and nothing that management or anyone else can do about that. So, as I mentioned. These are things that I didn't like, but things that are environmental and cultural that cannot be changed. I will most definitely return to stay there again for all of my return trips to Manizales.
