    • The Residence was absolutely fabulous! The view was amazing. There was plenty of room and very quiet. Perfect for a family or couples traveling together. The staff at the hotel were marvelous and helpful. Really good value when traveling with others.

    Cons -

    • The residence is on a steep road so you must be fit to get to and from town.
    • Mattresses are disaster! Very low quality - back pain is guaranteed! Having good mattress is basic for a hotel with this price level. Never come back simply for this reason
    • we had to climb up a set of stairs to access our unit.

Absolutely memorable place to stay- the location and staff are superb & so is the food & the building … Amazing hotel & well worth the effort to get to Queenstown & visit Arrowtown & Milford Sound. Go for it.

we had been traveling for some weeks when we reached eichardts, so having laundry facilities in our apartment suite were an unexpected bonus. The nice kitchen also gave us the ability to cook some food items which we like without going out to a restaurant. The locaction of eichardts at the waterfront promenade was beautiful and got us close to all the local bars and tours. We were served a liesurly but excellent free breakfast in the eichardts bar. Great and helpful hotel staff. Queenstown on the wharf is so beautiful, dont go to the uphill accomodations

we had to climb up a set of stairs to access our unit.

    Location

beds were horrible, very soft, woke up with a lot of back pain, breakfast was a la carte, not buffet. Room (Vault) had no windows, living room had no view.

Fantastic location, friendly staff and very clean.

The location is spectacular, staff great, breakfast delicious. The room was beautifully decorated, quiet, comfortable, view amazing. We loved it

If I had to find something to not like, the yard could have been swept. And maybe USB port somewhere, or a plug by a table for charging devices

The location was perfect and the room one of the most beautifully appointed I have ever stayed in. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

I liked everything about the hotel and would stay there again in an instant!

    The beddings

    1. The noise from the Attiqa pub was bloody loud that constantly banging the whole room for a good 5 hours from 9-2am. The hotel didn’t mention the location of this room at all either here or on their website. Over $2000 per night to stay opposite a thumping pub, I’d rather put a tent next to the lake!! 2. Seems like their staff members are not that well trained, they’re always in rush. I understand they may have some tasks to do, but aren’t customers important to your hotel? A couple of times they literally shoveled me to the corner on the stairwell!!3. We told the receptionist that we had a marathon to run on Saturday, and at no time we were informed that there would be a loud wedding goinging on literally next door to our room. They were playing loud music and laughing with kids crying until night. What a night!!! 4. The breakfast menu seems never changed and lacks variety. It was like this at least 3 years ago and still the same. The coffee was yuck. The fact that the breakfast is included doesn’t mean we customers don’t have standards. I personally think it’s illegal to charge more than $2000 for a room with all these tougher! For this price last year, I stayed at the most luxury hotel in London with way way better room, customer service and food! So we surely WON’T be back again, so won’t our friends!

Location close to the Pier and relatively central to all the shops and restaurants.

First of all, it is not clear from the descriptions that the Apartment is not in the main building, in the most central location, but a few hundred meters apart in a separate house. Secondly, the highly praised "Grill" restaurant can not be recommended at all. I ordered a Wagyu steak "medium rare". What i got, was "medium well". I rejected it, and they offered to make a new one. After 20 minutes i got something which was "medium". Meanwhile the side dish was cold. The noise level in the restaurant is so high that one can not talk to each other, one has to shout.

Incredibly helpful staff who made our stay extra special. The penthouse is stunning throughout and has one of the most amazing views in Queenstown.

There's really not a lot one can find wrong with this place.

    Room layout

Noise around the property and poor staff service.

Perfect central location, surrounded by all the restaurants and shops. Situated next to stunning Lake Wakatipu. Extremely helpful staff, with good breakfast.

the pub near hotel is a bit noisy at weekend night

    Disappointing

we got the apartment which was not part of the hotel and it was very dark and dated and not worth the money at all.

Eichardt’s Residence is a three storey apartment, set away from the hotel. It is beautiful, well appointed, and has a predominantly uninterrupted view of the Remarkables and lake.

Because it is not close to the hotel, services that hotel guests would normally be offered (I have stayed at Eichardt’s main hotel before), were not. The house was not serviced daily, there was no turn down service and no room service available. Normally, I’d rate the lack of these extras as a first world problem, however; at a rate of NZD$2500+ a night, I think it’d be fair to expect what every other hotel guest would be offered. Staff are clearly doing their best but it is clear they are stretched.
