    Pros +

    • The hostel exceeded my expectations, the staff is awesome. I went on my own and I felt the sense of belonging which is weird on holidays. Clean room, very well heated, clean toilets, quiet location but close enough to town.
    • Rooms were clean, common areas could use some work. Staff very friendly and helpful
    • Good size under bed storage and enough space in kitchen

    Cons -

    • Common areas need a little help Kitchen pots and pans almost useless
    • The beds only have a half curtain. My mattress was so worn and dipped in the middle that I left with back ache. My room was also hot and smelt funny. There aren’t enough bathrooms so you often had to wait for the bathroom (especially in the evening) and there is no spare loo roll kept in them.Hostel is in a good location but is not as central as others. Seems like there are lots of long term people so felt like I was intruding.
    • The drain in the bathroom wasn't that good. Every time we wanted to meet staffs to ask something, we needed to wait.

I have stayed in the new container which is nice and clean. All the facilities were clean and worked well. Staffs were kind and friendly. The location was close to the city, it was convenient for us who didn't have a car.

The drain in the bathroom wasn't that good. Every time we wanted to meet staffs to ask something, we needed to wait.

Great location, really friendly hostel, large kitchen & lots of fridges!! Beds were comfy, lots of locker space to keep things secure & everything was really clean. One of the best hostels i’ve ever stayed in!

Occasional wait for the bathrooms as the toilet was in with the shower.

    Good location. Walkable to everything

There is no parking despite saying there is. They direct you to a nearby street but it is constantly completely full. You have to park so far away and walk so far

The group of people at the property were very welcoming, lots of people staying long term that were very welcoming property is clean, has great facilities and hosts events like pub quizzes and movie nights.

The only thing lacking was the lack of an ensuit option if u did want more privacy but the bathrooms were very nice and enclosed so you don’t need to worry at all

Super well located to be not so in town as to be loud but not so far to be isolated; staff were all lovely - shout out to Josh who took the time to show us around despite being real busy - and everyone was considerate! Facilities were also clean and tidy with bathroom towels changed every day, and the lounge nice and cozy. Luggage lockers under the beds were also huge!

The bedding seemed quite tired - my mattress had a dip in the centre just from age I'm assuming. My reading lamp was also broken and there were no power sockets for upper bunks.

The staff are nice and helpful. They have a living room where you can watch movies or just relax. The sofa is really comfortable.

There are only 2 bathrooms. You have to wait several minutes to take a bath. Sometimes there is a queue.

Great location, and fantastic facilities (lounge, kitchens etc). Easy to meet people. A good place to start our trip!

Double room with shared bathroom was a little small, but the huge balcony made up for this!

I turned up quite late to the hostel but the overnight manager was lovely. He showed me around the hostel and even let me use his charger when I didn’t have mine.

Location is close to the main centre. The room is new and cabin-like setting.

Beds were too small for us. We should’ve requested for a bigger one.

lockers under the beds were very large and there were smaller lockers by the wardrobe toobeds were comfortable staff were very helpful (shoutout to jonas for helping me after reception hours!)location is within short walking distance of the town centre and the airport bus stop

curtains only go halfway across the bedwifi was patchy and didn’t really work in the roomnot enough bathrooms for the number of people, had to sit and wait for a bathroom to be free got about 20 minutes as there’s only 2 showers and 3 toilets (only toilet is separate)could do with update design in some rooms

    8SethPosted on: 9-22-2025

Bed curtains, separate bathrooms, nice staff

Locks on bathroom door misaligned, bathrooms are well used/ need deep clean/ general doors and cupboard hinges and hardware need attention. Need more pillows available, bigger blankets smaller key cards that clip to keys or in wallet.

    8TisananPosted on: 9-19-2025

Hostel location is not far from downtown and close to FreshChoice supermarket. The kitchen is big and clean. Also they have enough equipment for everyone to cook. Toilet is clean too but they should have more rooms for toilet. They have storage and locker for you to keep your luggage in the room.

The mattress is too soft. When you lie down, the middle sinks in. Also the curtains on the bed don’t go the full length.

    7JoshuaPosted on: 9-5-2025

Great location, easy to walk to the main areas of Queenstown. The room was brand new, quite small and didn’t really have room for two suitcases, but had a comfy bed, blankets and heating. Very clean room.

The shared spaces were often messy, it felt like you were staying in a shared house. The fridges were all full and most smelt like food expired a month ago. We had a private bathroom but there were always people waiting for the shower/toilet in the morning. The kitchens were cleaned at 9am daily which is when most people were cooking so it was really inconvenient. They should wait until later in the morning.

Great location and friendly staff. Thanks to Joss and Joseph for making the stay comfortable.

    More toilets and better drainage.
