    Pros +

    • Super friendly staff.
    • Great location tp central Queenstown and public transport
    • Comfortable beds, clean floors and clean bathrooms with more than adequate bath mats. Kitchen seemed large and well equipped. Overall exceeded my expectations of a "hostel".

    Cons -

    • There was nothing we didn't like.
    • We had a private room in top floor. Extremely hot from midday on due to westerly sun and large windpw which was only partially covered by a poorly hung curtain which did not cover the upper part kf the window. No fly screens and I woke up to 6 bees in my room. No AC and just a pedestal fan. It was expensive compared to accomodation nearby which I stayed in pre hiking trip earlier in the week.
    • The property is quite tightly packed and not a whole lot of open space.

rooms were spacious, large kitchen and bathrooms - friendly and helpful staff

Central location to queenstown, staff helpfulness,

It is a little cramped/rabbit-warren because it's a refurbished older premise.

    4TarishaPosted on: 1-20-2026

Pretty good location, close to the town centre.

On the booking there was nothing to say or suggest that the room had a shared bathroom. The building is old and outdated, noisy all night long (it is on a busy & loud road). The rooms had no aircon, just a little fan which did not suffice. The curtains in the room didn’t fully cover the windows so lights came through all night.

One of the staff not sure if he was the manager. He came to our apartment to ask move our car as it was on the way. We were having lunch at 3pm and there were 5 of us in total. He told us the apartment should only have 4 adults. He said non verbatim, one of you need to find somewhere else otherwise I will kick all of you out of the property. This is the first time someone treated us this way on our accomodation. He did not even ask if the other person from us is only visiting, if not, he can offer another room or another payment or something like that. It kinda ruined the start of our holiday. If you’re working on hospitality, you should talk to your guests politely, not rudely.

The room we got was more private than most.

Very noisy neighbours an hour and a half past quiet time and no staff to warn them. The walls were thin and we woke up since we could hear every word of their conversation.

Convenient and clean and reasonably priced. Great communication as we were arriving after hours and leaving prior to anyone arriving

Very few toilets and they were a long way from the rooms

Staff were amazing. Location was superb.

It's 50-50 in the rooms, sometimes you have decent roommates and sometimes you get the Fxxkheads. That wasn't very pleasant. 1 good night out of 3 I'd say.

    Clean, good location, not noisy

Great location centrally located in QT, easy to get everywhere by walk or local bus stop a stones throw away. Can’t fault the rooms, beds were comfortable, cool and storage under each bed.

Bathrooms and showers were okay, great power and hot water but not spotlessly clean (can imagine it’s hard to maintain in busy hostels though!) but it was adequate and I did see them cleaning Staff didn’t see very friendly, had a couple of different encounters with staff and just didn’t seem very happy or chatty. We went to a different hostel the following week and experienced the total opposite with friendly and chatty staff members

Two kitchens and both were clean, the lounge area was a nice communal space. Great location.

Dorm rooms were very small, very little space to move around or get bags in/out of the under bed lockers. Not many showers/toilets for a full hostel.

    9PatrickPosted on: 12-28-2025

The staff was very kind and approachable. The facilities were clean, the kitchen was well equipped (oil, salt, pepper shared!). The location is good close enough to the town but still quiet.

Closing the kitchen at 10PM would be nice as it was loud one night due to someone having phone call in the kitchen at 3AM.

    The location , in town

I came from another Haka in Rotorua and it's nothing like it. Extremely small and uncomfortable rooms.

    3PavelPosted on: 12-20-2025

    Poor

Six beds in six square meters without a possibility yo open einfow

    4WendtPosted on: 12-17-2025

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great and close to the town center.

Not enough bathrooms available for all the guests. Room smelled moldy and didnt feel clean. Facilities felt rundown and needed an update.

    Passable

staff not friendly. room and bathrooms not really clean. Check-in times were not accurate cause he was not ready cleaning

    9DarrenPosted on: 12-11-2025

Great location, everything we needed and lovely views of mountains

Lack of blackout out blinds in lounge (for the 2 single beds), nothing on door and blinds on windows could be better. Bedroom was great.
