About
Located 5 minutes' drive from the center of Queenstown, Kamana Lakehouse offers stunning views over Lake Wakatipu and the iconic Remarkables mountain range. Each beautiful, air-conditioned room features contemporary decor, premium beds, USB charging ports, free WiFi, and an outdoor seating area. Nest is growing lasting roots in our local Central Otago environment. We bring you delicious foraged herbs, seeds and wild ingredients, and nurture key partnerships with local farmers, growers and fishermen. There is always something new and exciting at Nest. We update menu items with the four seasons, and bring unique creations to light every week in our five course degustation experience. All thoughtfully designed towards an aspirational “zero waste” dining experience. Kamana Lakehouse is just 5 minutes' walk from the entrance of Fernhill Loop Track and Ben Lomond Track for easy access to some of New Zealand's native nature. It is well serviced by activity operators and close to local ski fields. We wish to share an important note with our guests: From April 2024 onwards, neighboring areas in close proximity to the hotel are currently undergoing extensive development work. Our hotel and facilities remain fully operational, however we do wish to share that guests could possibly experience the sound impact during the hours of Monday-Saturday, 8am-6pm. Our Lakeview Luxe and Tahuna Lakeview room categories are located adjacent to the development and may therefore have their views impacted at times. Our team are here to look after you with any questions that you have prior to, and during your stay with us. Please connect with us if there is anything we can do for you.

- The view from the main lobby area is beautiful, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room balconies were nice, but it was winter so we could not enjoy them.
- Great location, beautiful view. Loved the balcony and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nicely designed and updated.
- Perfect view and good housekeeping every day ,kind stuff very well service!
Cons -
- The rooms were small. The instant coffee in the room was terrible- I could not drink it. The hot tub cost $--- NZ for one hour. I think the hot tub should have been included in the price. Overall, not great value and unmemorable. Would not recommend.
- Room is a bit small for a family, but overall, I would stay here again.
- The menu for room service or to just sit down in the lounge and eat was limited and dinner was only a set three course menu, which was a bit difficult to obligate to

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Upgraded to a lake view, the room was spotless, nice amenities, nespresso machine a plus, even bigger plus - soak tub session! Our dinner at the Nest restaurant was exceptional. Breakfast service is good, delicious options.
Great location and delicious food. Lots of trails and a playground nearby. The room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
Staff were really nice. There was also a bus that took you straight to the center.

This is a great property and has one of the county’s best restaurants housed here. We had the pleasure of dining here for breakfast and it was scrumptious! Would highly recommended! Another standout feature of the place are their soaking tubs. You simply MUST book an hour for yourself there.
There’s always an issue to park your vehicle so just that.
The breakfast was nice & friendly service for the most part
I was really disappointed to pay a premium price for a Lakeview room that is advertised with stunning views along with a dining hall with again said stunning views. To only be given a tiny room with a low roof, terrible bathroom and a view of construction! Loud noises, obstruction of my view. I was almost ready to leave. Not only this but we were told we were “lucky” to be able to use the kamana soak as it used to be charged extra. With a view of what? Frosted glass…. Ok so “lucky” I guess. I had given this place a second chance after they were hacked and my credit card numbers were stolen but then to pay a ridiculous amount of money for this - I would have been better off somewhere else.
Everything was perfect, friendly staff, good facilities, room well equipped, hot tub easy to book.
No complains
Amazing ambiance, fireplaces, comfortable room with nice amenities & inclusions, great hotel room tea + Nespresso selections. The hotel breakfast is worth it too
The Kamana Soak, while it had a gorgeous view & was nice + private, had water that smelled a bit strongly of chlorine
Beautiful view, great location ( although a little distance from the downtown area) , very comfortable accommodation and best customer experience from staff especially Christian who has given us an above and beyond experience, we enjoyed Queenstown more because of her recommendations, Sara has been very helpful as well and the staff in the restaurant. I highly recommend staying in Kamana Lakehouse
Less options for breakfast . No available bread/ croissant .
We reached early . Tasleema Tarin the ambassador at the reception was gracious and kind we left our luggage . She tried to contact us however as we were travelling could not get her messages that the room was ready . She moved our bags to the room had everything ready when we came few minutes later . Gave us some excellent suggestions about the city . Vincent showed us the tub and explained the process recommending the cocktails . Christianne the evening floor manager was gracious and kind answering our questions and later Jessica checked us out in the early hours when we left. The nest restaurant three course was the best we have had on this trip . The balance , presentationA group of young professionals who all made our stay very comfortable.
I had requested a room with a view . The room allotted was in the corner with no view at all .
The hotel is lovely and has a beautiful view over the lake. The rooms were really nice too, felt homey and cosy. The details are really well thought out. Super clean and modern. I also used the outdoor spas, super nice!
I wanted to order a dinner as room service, however you can't order "dinner" to your room, only small dishes or go to the restaurant which is a little disappointing.
The view from the restaurant is pretty.
We weren’t able to use the soak facilities as it was fully booked. The location is a bit out of the way - if you want to get into town it’s either $20+ taxi or a bus, which you need cash or a bee card (we didn’t have either). We didn’t have the Mountain View which instead gave us a view into everyone’s rooms / balconies around us - and our balcony was very exposed to them too!
Nothing, apart from the smell of the soap
It was nothing like what was shown on booking.com the room was tiny, there was zero privacy. The couch was in front of the sliding door to go out on to the balcony. There was really no view at all due to construction site next door. Also the restaurant doesn’t allow any alterations on the menu so if you are allergic to something you literally cannot eat there
Parking was terrible as it is shared with restaurant guest as well carpark signage very poor and so was lighting at night from rooms down external stairs and carpark
View in restaurant and food was good
The location, view and staffs are amazing! Had my fine dining there wish there is a couple more options for main. Wish there is a gym. Need more parking space.
Nil
The room was clean and provided with necessary amenity set.
There is construction work going on outside the hotel, so the environment is not very pleasant. Considering its price, it’s not really worth it.
Room is clean bed is comfortable
Not worth the money though, bit expensive
Beautiful place
No showers in Soak tubs it’s akward to walk in robe across the street to get thru reception to the soak tubs. The ambience for Easter was not there nothing special was put on not even Easter eggs. No tourist type info available
