Ace staff! Great location near the waterfront, restaurants, and other Queenstown attractions. Convenience store next door.

    Close to town and clean

The TV isn’t a smart TV - which in 2026 is a bit behind the times. We wanted to connect to Netflix but it wasn’t possible

    Location was really excellent.

The hotel is tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Rooms have showers over bath with curtain no walk in shower. The room furnishings were dated and uncomfortable except for the bed which was excellent. The breakfast was poor, we even didn’t bother the last morning. Eggs were powdered scramble egg, little choice of pastries and replenishing when empty was slow or non existent. The staff at breakfast gave no information on what was included or what would be charged as extra “à la carte” only a price list. No hot water available for tea. Nowhere near normal Crown Plaza high standards. Overall a disappointing stay.

Location was the only redeeming feature of the hotel.

This hotel was old, outdated, poorly maintained and represented very poor value for money. Would not recommend. Our bathroom sink was blocked. There was no body lotion in the bathroom. The very small shower over a bath, tiny bathroom…… and yet, the price was through the roof. Many other options for accommodation exist. Look elsewhere!

Nice clean hotel in the heart of the downtown core with beautiful views, staff was very nice and helpful

    9GiddingPosted on: 1-25-2026

Location on waterfront ideal. The staff really friendly and helpful. Room just fine, but no view from my room. The TV channels are excellent giving full range of movies and sports.

I would have preferred room with balcony facing the lake, but that room unavailable at that time. Hotel offered me 2 notes with balcony view, so they tried hard.

The best location, just across the lake and near all eateries and bus stops. Staff are excellent and helpful, was accommodated really early which was helpful. Jamaica on the front desk was so kind and made my birthday week extra special.

Buffet breakfast was average for this hotel. They need to have better options and cooked/ baked meal not just store bought and heated up.

Location, cleanliness and staff all very good.

Facility / Property had it's own carparks at rear but own / rental vehicles could only be accessed by Valet parking which was sometimes slow due to Hotel staff constraints during busy periods etc. A better system with guest access to vehicles would be an improvement. This would necessitate upgrading the gravel carparks (lower and upper) sealing surfaces, marking spaces, installing boom gates etc. All reasonable improvements for a property of this size, location in Central Queenstown and for faciliry at upper end of cost in the accomodation market.

    Location

The room wasn’t ready when we arrived. I am still waiting for my “pending” amount to be put back onto my card after 1 week.

    6AndrewPosted on: 1-21-2026

Location is fantastic so it's very accessible to the best of the heart of Queenstown. We had an issue with our room which was quickly resolved by Farah at the front desk which was a good example of getting customer service right. Can't fault the team who were attentive and friendly every day.

Hotel is outdated and in need of a renovation. It's a little soulless and the entry experience with its low ceilings, closed in layout and dated furnishings is somewhat uninspiring. There is so much potential to use the personality of the existing 70's architecture and design to create a unique contemporary hotel. The room decor is tired, bathrooms are dated and styling/furniture miss the mark and are a generic copy and paste approach. Lots of potential for improvement

Great location walking to everything in queenstown and right by the lake

    Little bit dated

    7RosannaPosted on: 1-20-2026

Location was excellent, Restaurant was excellent and convience to everything was great

Room facilities were average for what I paid. Shower within bath is not good for any ageing guests and there was no table to eat any food.

    8ChristinePosted on: 1-20-2026

Great location and wonderful breakfast with unlimited barista coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I booked a room with a balcony and Mountain View and I was given a room that looked out to a wall. You had to go onto the balcony and look to the side to see the mountain. Apparently all Mountain View rooms are partial views. I wasn’t happy and they changed my room. The property is dated and needs renovating. The shower is over the bath. The outdoor seating was dirty and wasn’t cleaned our entire stay. You can’t control the air conditioning from the room.

Location and staff were kind and helpful especially Martin Fernandez, I just wished he was more empowered to help me with an issue caused by booking.com

The property was wonderful, could be nice to have some relaxing/SPA type options.Using booking.com to book was the worst decision I could have made. I made ONE booking. Booking.com somehow managed to send TWO. I never got any communication/info about a second booking. I found about it when I got to the hotel. I explained to them I only made one booking. They suggested I email booking.com which I did through the app explaining the situation and asking them to remove the second booking I never made. Yet I still got charged two penalty fees (one from the hotel one from booking.com) totaling over $300 on my credit card. I have now tried calling booking.com four times I have spoken to different people each time after having to wait forever on the phone to be able to speak to a person and nobody has solved the problem. I was asked to email paperwork proving the extra charges which I did and got no resolution. I feel I have been robbed by booking.com and nobody is able/willing to help!

Location was excellent. Breakfast was great.

The room was dated the walls need to be washed. The bed needs to be updated. Could hear clearly the kids in the adjoining rooms.

Individual service, they remembered my name, took care of special requests due to unique challenges faced in airline travel; very professional

    9DonnaPosted on: 1-18-2026

The Crowne Plaza is perfectly located across the road from restaurants and bars, and other tourist attractions. It’s also close to Ballarat Street and the mall where you find other places to eat and good shopping options. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Housekeeping staff are fabulous.
