The Carlin Boutique Hotel

Small boutique hotel with a phenomenal staff! Excellent location in Queenstown--amazing views. We enjoyed the special amenities of the Royal Suite which included an outdoor fireplace, hot tub, and a heated toilet. :)

We paid a very high price for this room--supposedly the very last room available in the city.

The view was amazing, the staff were very helpful with anything we needed. Bed was amazing as was all the amenities in the rooms.

I did expect a little more from the hotel for my money. I also would have expected the transfer to the airport to be included in the price.

The staff were amazing, breakfast was absolutely delicious. The beds were so incredibly comfortable and the apartments were very clean. We had amazing views of the lake with an easy walk to Bars and restaurants.

My expectations were very high for the Carlin, being 5 star accommodation. I was a little disappointed by a couple of things, which I will put in below. Overall, nice play to say but not value for money

At the price you pay, a bottle of champagne should be included. Exit signs weirdly included in the actual room. The TV's did not have access to streaming services. No alcohol in complimentary bar.

The gym is extremely small and a few times there were no towels available or water.

Amazing location. Super special suite with everything you could want. Extremely comfortable bed.

The team were so friendly and eager to make our stay a good one. The housekeeping service daily was 10/10 .The room was so comfortable and the views were outstanding.The daily breakfast was so delicious.

Missed the mark on decor and climate control. Over technical toilet interrupted our sleep!

This place is a SCAM. For starters, they take your money from booking.com under the impression it’s a ‘pay at hotel’ deal. Read the fine print people, if it’s in there.They claim six star hotel. This would be lucky to be three stars. Comparing this to the Burj AlArab, a true six star hotel, is an absolute joke. It’s nothing more than a renovated 60s walk up block.We’ve stayed at many hotels in Queenstown, and the staff at these hotels are all aware of feedback consistent about Carlin with what I’ve written.We were sucked in and paid full price (thousands) and now feel sickened at the misrepresentation.The owner clearly tightly controls all reviews on external websites so you won’t read anything negative.Stay away, spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Very welcoming, clean, comfortable, luxurious. Best breakfast and dinner. Federico was awesome great hospitality by him.

One of the staff not sure his name entered the room twice without knocking or informing us. The room does not have a door bell no room number.

The tv in the main area didn’t work nor did the range hood in the kitchen. There were no kitchen utensils. The bathroom underfloor heating was to hot over 30 degrees. The fire place was poorly installed . By all accounts it’s a lovely place but missed the mark in areas .
