    Pros +

    • Location was incredible
    • Awesome hostel. Checking in and out was pretty easy. Stuff was super friendly and the room was really nice. I stayed in a 4 bad room with an ensuite bathroom. The room was really clean. Nice to have curtains to close on your bed. There is an aircon in the room and windows to open. So the air is good in the room. Towels to borrow. Kitchen is great. Enough space for everyone, good storage and fridge space and a beautiful view down the lake. Loved it. Would definitely stay here again.
    • Location is perfect! The room was good, and the beds were comfy. We did not use the kitchen.

    Cons -

    • Wifi loved to disconnect
    • Pillows were not amazing, but that was everything I didn't like. Overall had an amazing stay here, would definitely recommend!
    • Cleanness. Room Facilities. No proper space for storage. Access by car is not easy

Location was great. Curtains on the beds, which was refreshing after not having that privacy for a long while in New Zealand. Beds were comfy, pillow wasn't, but that's alright. Showers and toilets were cleaned regularly so they always looked and smelled great. Overall had an amazing stay in beautiful Queenstown!

Location was the only good thing.

If you are looking for an ensuite room for 2 people look somewhere else. That's what we had booked and instead were given a dorm room with 3 empty bunks which completely filled the room.At nearly $300 a night this was unacceptable. Unfortunately I had already paid but am requesting redress through Booking . Com customer service. The Manager (an Irish man) was extremely rude when we complained. I have stayed in private rooms at other backpackers in many countries but always had good experiences. This one was by far the worst. The place needs a new manager. Other staff were ok.In comparison Lakefront backpackers in Te Anau was a wonderful experience.

Very centrally located, lovely staff and comfortable bed. the place is very accessible if you want to explore the city. the staff was nice and hospitable.

Very small rooms and short space in beds to sit straight if you are tall. I hurt my head twice bad. Ensuite was really tiny, so is the kitchen, they close the kitchen it at 10PM. The view from the kitchen is not as shown, it is all obstructed with the trees. Attaching pics of the actual view from the balcony.

A very handy location to Queenstown central! Just step out your door and you're amongst it all.The room was clean and very well priced based on locationStaff were friendly and helpfulNice closeup views of lake

Due to location, it got a bit noisy at night and first thing in the morning. However, can't be helped due to close proximity to restaurants etc.Bed was a little on the hard side for our likingCleaning staff entered our room one day, while we were relaxing in bed, didn't say a thing, but did the vacuuming around us. We should have put the sign on the door, but he should have asked if it was OK before doing his job.

Clean, modern, comfortable. Unbeatable location on the waterfront. Super helpful staff. Very well equipped kitchen, and eating at an open window looking over the lake was my own four star restaurant. While guests averaged much younger than myself, the atmosphere was welcoming and never too noisy at night. Great place to start my month in New Zealand and already booked a return.

Obnoxious couple in our bunk room got up at 5 AM and loudly conversed while packing. Courtesy demands you pack the night before if you’re leaving early. But this is hardly the fault of the hostel,

private room very handy , location is excellent

nothing - bathroom tight but not much they can do about that

    6ShanilPosted on: 1-21-2026

The location was amazing! And the kitchen and bathroom facilities were really good.

The staff were sometimes rude and uninviting, and the rooms were very warm.

The location was fantastic! We had a wonderful view of the lake. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. We really appreciated being able to store our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

    No parking

Hot power shower in private room.Superb location bang in the middle of restaurants and adventure bookings.Comfy bunksKitchen has speccy viewPricey but nicey. Loved it

I reckon a six footer might struggle to sleep longways in the bunk.

Great location, on the lakeside, near all the bars, restaurants and boat trips. Our private room with en-suite was compact but fine for a few nights. We were lucky to have a corner room with views to lake and town.

    All good

    8DebsPosted on: 1-7-2026

Lovely, clean and a great location.

Parking! We have stayed here a few times over the years, and it's getting harder and harder to find a free 24hr parking spot within a 15-20min walk from the hostel. It was so busy with all free parking spots on maps taken. Just luck that we found one to squeeze into on the esplanade.

    6SusannahPosted on: 1-1-2026

View from the room was great

Very noisy from the street (Irish bar just outside) and not much sound but proofing . No common space to relax, staff were taking up the whole lounge for most of our stay. Kitchen okay but a bit hectic . Place overall was manageable but pretty cramped. Ok if you plan to be out the whole time, but not ideal if you get a rainy day.

Fabulous hostel. Lovely staff. Great facilities. Amazing location. Couldnt ask for better. So clean. Really comfie beds with privacy curtains.

Only little issue, an not really an issue, was laundry was closed anytime i wanted to use it.

    9IngridPosted on: 12-20-2025

Central, best view, room spacious, curtains on beds gave privacy, shower was fantastic (good pressure and heat)

Can't fault it!! The only things we didn't like were not the hostels fault (noisy neighbour's and a busker outside singing karaoke till late). It was a fantastic place to stay, so easy to get around and places to eat and drink were right there. I hope I can come back again one day. thank you!!!
