So noisy! We specifically asked for a quiet room - in writing when booking, on phone before arrival, and at check in. Yet we we place directly over 'party alley' where the music thumped til at least 1am every night.Because the a/c has to be controlled by reception (who never answered our calls) it was not feasible to have on because we would have to choose one setting to run 24/7 for our week-long stay. So we had a choice of unbearably stuffy, or noisy and security risk leaving the door to the shared balcony open. Miserable!Finally, our stay was for 6 days. Our room was not serviced the whole time. We were give 2 coffee sachets and one mini soap to last all week.

bathroom cleaning was terrible, there were three beds in the room and two beds had no sheets

Located at the heart of town. Keyless entry which is convenient.

Looks a bit old. Could do a bit of upgrade in their rooms.

No running water in room apart from bathroom. Got given 1 towel for 2 people. Got given more but were dirty and bathroom smelt

Quite noisy but this is to be expected as right in the centre of queenstown - easily fixed with ear plugs.

The price, the location, the bed is super huge and comfortable.

There were not towels, there was hair in the bathtub, some clothes probably from previous guests inside of the drawer and the room was dusty.

I booked for a double bed with ensuite only to find after checking in it was two single beds pushed together so already a bad start, we paid extra for a double bed sooooo. the cleanliness was below par as the room and bathroom was very dusty, the toilet brush was vile and the curtains and carpets had questionable stains everywhere. Don't understand why they have beds at all to be honest as we were situated in a room just above the nightclub where they were playing extreme drum & bass till 4am, I felt like i was experiencing a constant earthquake as the room was just non stop vibrating, people outside weren't too loud at all, it was drowned out by all the vibrations and music, I thought the room was about to take off. I'm also perplexed how one can get a good night's sleep, wake up and check out by 10am, that only gives you 6 hours... I actually really used to like drum & bass but base hostel has entirely put me off the whole genre.

I loved the staff and the the comfy couches in the reception. Loved that the staff happily stored my bags so I could go for a walk and they were super helpful with directions and sigh of things to do in the area for a few hourd

The place looks a bit run down and tired- a fresh lick of paint would do wonders to life the internal vibe of the place- throughout the place!

The good was the location nothing else. The guy in the reception who first greeted us when we arrived was great and very welcoming.

The room is dusty and dirty. We were there for 6 nights without changing our towels. We asked them to clean our room for the next day when we were out but someone came wanting to vacuum our floor while we are back in the room resting.. so imagine that, and she said she can’t clean and dust because too many stuff around.. well they’re supposed to clean before we checked in. We know its a backpacker but we had a private room and we expect a clean accommodation.

Was right in centre of town

As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" Staff were very quick to check us in and disappear so had no idea where kitchen was and couldn't find staff to ask ...... double bed was just 2 singles pushed together that came apart during night..... tv only had 1 channel and no remote.... bathroom needed a good clean (mold on ceiling), no parking available anywhere close...(all 15-30min spots) so had to pay $4 / hr in parking building

The location is very convenient. It makes it easy for us to go around town and activities. The staff are all friendly and it was convenient to have the key on your phone (goki app). WiFi speed was great!

Our room was by the stairwell and it can get noisy with drunk guests coming up at around 2am-4am. Summer can also be very hot and the rooms doesn't have a fan at lease. If we left the window open, we get the noise from the road, drunk people and the rubbish truck emptying at 5am in the morning.

The location is perfect. The rooms were good enough for the cost and a place to stay for the night. Not a place to stay if your not planning to be out to explore.

The drainage in the toilet overflowed. Place could do with a bit more maintenance and upgrade.

The location is very close to town.Remember to download the apps for GOKI for check-in and room key.Each room has a toilet and shower area.

No carpark

Location is of course very good as it's right in the town and close to everything you need. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

The beds are ridiculously squeaky, all you have to do is move an inch and it makes an awful creaking noise. They are also so low that you can't even sit up on the bottom bunk without getting half your hair ripped out by the underneath of the top bunk - pretty dangerous actually, basically like nails sticking in your head. The showers are ridiculous that you can't change the temperature, its just scolding hot. Overall cleanliness, the place just looks really dark and dingy to be honest...
