Tam Cốc Retreat Ninh Bình

This was our best hotel stay in Vietnam. The location is perfect, around 10 by car minutes from the main town, but far enough away that it offers peace and tranquility. The room was huge with a gorgeous bathroom, the bath itself being surrounded by lush greenery outside and nice and private. I loved the quietness, the big bed, the lush gardens and the lovely staff. I wish we had more time to stay and we agreed we would come back in warmer weather for a longer stay. I also liked that it's close to Thung Nham bird park, you can walk or cycle there easily. The property has free bicycles as well, although we didn't try them as it was either raining or a bit cold so we opted to get Grabs instead. Enjoyed the nice buffet breakfasts too, with options for hot and cold food. There is a large pool which we didn't go in due to it being winter, but it's so clean and inviting and I imagine wonderful on a hot day.

The hotel was beautiful, very peaceful, and staff were very accommodating. It is about 5k from the town center but a taxi was easy to grab.

The lady at the front desk is super helpful and friendly. She helped us book a car from another city to Tam Coc.The property is quite a distance from the downtown area - ideal for travelers who are searching for a tranquil retreat.

Avoid the property's motorbike rental service. Very likely you will get a well-worn bike with problematic brakes and broken headlight at a pricing that's 50% higher than most of the rentals downtown.Additionally, when we first arrived, we found dusts and hairs on the bed and sofa in our room. Mildly frustrating.

I enjoyed everything about this stay. Check in and booking were easy and we were greeted by kind staff. The room is very clean and I love the design of nature and luxury. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast were delicious and reasonably priced. I also booked a massage with Truong and it was phenomenal. There are no complaints, I highly recommend booking a stay at Tam Coc Retreat. It’s the perfect tucked away location for a great set up in Ninh Binh.

Outstanding place, very aesthetic environment with high attention to detail, great service, peaceful atmosphere, the private bungalow is awesome for a romantic escape, the onsite restaurant is top notch, perfect location to explore Ninh Binh, really the best place in this region - hands down

This resort is such a gem! Just a 10-minute bike ride from the center of Tam Coc, yet it feels so peaceful and surrounded by stunning nature. The atmosphere is super relaxing, perfect if you’re looking to slow down and enjoy the scenery. Breakfast was delicious and varied, bikes are free to use, and scooters are available at a fair price. We truly loved our stay here – highly recommended!

I loved the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The resort’s design blends perfectly with the countryside vibe, and the pool area was fantastic for unwinding. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable.

The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and very peaceful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially at the reception. Lynn was exceptionally proactive in providing information and assisting me throughout our stay.

Location was tucked away in the edge of tam coc, quiet retreat, easy bike ride into town, but you do have to share the road w/ trucks and motorbikes. The ground of this facility was a beautifully groomed and lush tropical garden with mango, jackfruit, and birds of paradise every where. the master bedroom has a wide window that frames a gorgeous tropical garden growing outside. you're really taken away from every day hustle and bustle, a lovely escape! Free bikes that work great, and you definitely need it being out there.

Breakfast was lacking in variety such as tropical fruits which was in season, traditional breakfast options like corn, sticky rice, for the price we paid for our bungalow. at one point, I asked for additional chicken pho broth, but they wouldn't give me chicken to go with saying they had to save for other guests. there were maybe 10 guest that morning having breakfast. my the pool hour was limited until 6p, which is time when we would come back from our touring and daily activities. I did give my feedback to receptionist who was receptive to it, so I hope they can improve in those areas.

Tam Coc Retreat felt like a warm hug. I booked a one night stay after leaving another accommodation early which was not what I thought it would be. A lot of places in Vietnam have been misleading but Tam Coc Retreat was seriously a hidden gem. My room was so peaceful and beautiful. I spent the day relaxing and I think that speaks volumes because I didn’t want to leave the room. The most comfortable bed of the trip and my room ( a free standing bungalow) had this incredible tub I very much enjoyed especially during a rainy night in. I also felt super safe here as a solo female traveler. Something that was seriously lacking at a neighboring property and oh so important. Only around 13 rooms, the property is intimate and quiet. The food was good and I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. But the best part about this place was the staff. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and taken care of. They also didn’t try to pressure or upsell me things and I encountered that a lot in Vietnam. Very responsive over WhatsApp if I needed anything at all and were super accommodating with everything. They even packed me a little bag of snacks and fresh cut up fruit for my three hour drive to Hanoi airport because I’d be missing lunch. Bottom line, if you’re coming to the area and want comfort and peace, book this place

We loved our spacious and clean villa. Our children had plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable. The staff at the resort are incredibly kind. Rose Linh and the other young lady working the front always greeted us with a smile and made sure our questions and needs were met. They helped arrange two days worth of trips, which were excellent. Our last day a gentleman took over the front desk and was equally friendly/ helpful. The resort was very fully staffed despite how few rooms were at the resort which really made it feel more luxurious. I had an amazing 10k run into town and back with gorgeous views along the way. My kids really enjoyed the very clean pool. The property and decor were AMAZING - straight out of Architectural Digest.

We did wish there were more food options nearby but it was easy to take a grab to downtown.

Spacious and extremely luxurious place. The rooms and especially the bathtub were amazing. Good breakfast and secluded place yet 10 minutes by taxi to center of town. The staff are kind and mindful.

We stayed in a beautiful villa, which was perfect for our family of four. It’s a very beautiful retreat. Due to hot weather we did sightseeing in the morning and towards the end of the day, and relaxed at the pool in the afternoon. It’s great to have the bikes available to use, easy to get to know the area. We cycled around the rice fields and to Bich Dong Pagoda. Everyone at the retreat was really friendly and helpful. They arranged our transportation to different attractions as well as to our next destination. If we ever return, we would definitely choose the same hotel!

The place itself is absolutely beautiful. Not only it is located in a calm place but the hotel is beautiful and peaceful too. The staff is absolutely the best, super warm and helpful at all times. The common facilities like the pool are great and it’s nice to have the bikes available.

Perhaps the restaurant could be a tiny bit better but it is also a convenient lot good option for food.

Beautiful setting, tasteful decoration, and exceptional staff. Perfect location to disconnect and enjoy the beautiful nature in the Tam Coc area.

Felt secluded and suited to the area with close enough proximity to go to tam coc. It had a good reasonable standard. The staff tried to be accommodating.

Not much to complain but if there was one. There is a beautiful bathtub however each lodge only has 40 litres so unless you like a cold bath is not possible to use.
