Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh

The hotel lets you borrow bikes for a small fee, which you can take to visit Van Lan. Super beautiful on the route and easy to access. Hotel also provided buggies for free, which we liked.

The facilities were a bit run down and is really due for a remodel of the facilities in the room. Tiles were cracked, grout was a bit dirty and wooden floors in the room were cracked and broke.

Organic restaurant lunch selection excellent. Menu overpriced and lacks the taste specially Goat. Add flavorful Indian style goat selection. Spicy curry based goat with bone in. I tried goat twice and was disappointed with the staff recommendation. Staff was discouraging from ordering Giat curry. New bicycles including e-bikes needed. The bicycles provided are pieces of crap. Not safe to ride on the roads lacking brakes and light and helmet. Throw them into garbage.

Incredible massages. They had a delicious, fresh and widespread breakfast buffet (the pastries were also chefs kiss). I loved that they had a footsul table and pool table. Location was great for me as I was after stay that was away from the city bustle, so it was very tranquil. I loved that it was near the lake which was so fun to ride a bike along the road and be amongst such friendly locals.

Room's cleanliness could be improved - a bit dusty. Some of the facilities were quite dated. We rented some bikes and they were old too and not the most comfortable. The on-site restaurant for dinner was $$$ and seemed to cater for western tourists.

location is absolutely fantastic, nestled near mountains with stunning views creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere.The check-in and check-out process was very smooth, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering plenty of space to relax, and the bathroom was spotless.One thing to note is that, according to the staff, the buffet and restaurant were not halal, which might be a concern for Muslim guests. However, during check-out, I had a brief conversation with the manager, who seemed surprised to hear that and assured me that the meat served is actually halal.

The hotel main buildings and surroundings are simply beautiful. The rooms are organized in clusters, where several buildings make up a cluster and often these have an own little swimming pool. The hotel restaurant has a wide variety of food options which is good since it is the only restaurant.

I specifically asked for a quiet room when I checked in. What did they do? They placed me in a cluster with a loud group of boys. I had to change my room. A few days later, there was a company event where staff of some external company stayed at the resort and they truly behaved like animals and made noises all over the resort long into the night. Hotel offered to change the room again. That's simply not enough for the level of disturbance. This hotel has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a party hotel or a relaxation hotel?

Love the quiet area and beautiful scenery near Van Long area. Been at the properties a few times still my favorite stay in Ninh Binh

A bit outdated facilities but overall are okay

We stayed in a beautiful two-story house that was very well maintained. The spa and indoor swimming pool were amazing, and breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The resort offers a peaceful setting and buggies are available to make moving around easier.

Some walking is required to get to the swimming area and breakfast hall, but the buggies helped to make this more convenient.

The breakfast is very diverse and delicious, and the room is very spacious and beautiful.Both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are good, convenient, and beautiful.

Everythings are good. I have nothing to complain about.

Nice location great view of the mountains. Rooms are clean and food has good variety. Minigolf is fun.

Some might find this place boring but it’s good for some quiteness and family gathering

Maybe the pool outside needs to be modernized a bit.Breakfast could also propose a wider variety.And maybe some real good espresso coffee..but this is personal opinion

Nice resort but 30 minutes ride to any town center so quite remote. It is however nicely located if you want to see Trang an. The rooms were very spacious but maybe less modern than what you can see on the pictures. However staff was lovely and I would recommend to stay 2 nights

I have some mixed feelings about this place - we stayed for 2 nights, and I can’t say that I fully relaxed into it completely since there were minor inconveniences that took me out of it like the water in the bathroom not getting hot, seeing plates at the breakfast buffet that had some food residue, the bed not being super comfortable etc. The staff was generally okay, however I never felt that they went out of their way to help out, and there isn’t really a “service with a smile” attitude. I often felt like I was burdening them by asking to check in/out or to order a drink to be honest. The food at the restaurant was good - not the best we had on our trip, but I saw quite a lot of negative reviews on google maps which don’t feel justified to me. Portions and sizes were good, and although you’re paying more than you typically would be, it wasn’t extortionate either.

Rooms were lovely.

Felt like a corporate gated community built in an area of deprivation. Guests a little too pleased with themselves. Overpriced and not that great. Restaurant was very average and overpriced. A huge tourist trap.

Nice rooms, good all inclusive facilities in an otherwise very uninteresting town.

The food looks nothing like the beautiful menu, and tastes like… well… not memorable to say the least.

Peaceful resort, rustic decoration with well equipped room. Comfortable bed, comfortable pillow. Very good air con and big ceiling fan. 100% satisfied with the room, and the atmosphere.Food was good. Variety of food and drinks was served during the breakfast buffet. Lunch is prepared nicely and professionally.Receptionist staff is very nice and helpful.

The wifi is terrible at night.The cook at breakfast is excellent, preparing nice food accordingly to our preference; while serving staff isn’t attentive, not helping to clear our table even though they see our table is full.The staff taking order at the restaurant for lunch/dinner is not so welcoming either.

The pool and bar area were relaxing

The location is too remote. The hotel capitalised on the remoteness. There are two hotels in Ninh Binh with similar names. This one and Emeralda Tam Coc. We booked this one by mistake. The patio has no seating

The resort staff was wonderful! Our room was very large and equipped with everything we needed for our comfort. Our room was well serviced each day. The restaurant was VERY good! Plenty of food choices, tasty, and priced very well. The grounds of the resort were gorgeous!

Large property set out over beautiful grounds. Accommodation in small cul de sac areas. You feel on your own in the property and amongst nature.

If you happen to be there on Family Day which I believe is one Sunday a month, the hotel is crowded by people for 3 hours of the day. There was nowhere to relax anywhere in the hotel. I would check this before booking!
