    Pros +

    • The amenities were pretty cool. They had a little bit of everything for families. The outdoor pool was really nice and big. I liked that they even had a kiddie pool.
    • The staff was friendly, efficient and very accommodating. The location of my room was excellent.
    • Lots of activity options, plenty of parking the days we were there (during Debbie). We were fortunate to have a sound view.

    Cons -

    • Entrance was pretty hard to find. Room layout was kinda weird with steps right behind the front door down into the suite. And the tv was small and didn’t have any apps. (We watched a lot of tv when it rained)
    • They advertised an indoor pool being open and there wasn¿t even an indoor pool. Also, there were NO blankets. We were not notified we needed to bring our own so we had to buy some.
    • It's a timeshare, which was not disclosed when we considered staying there. No maid service or shampoo. Very basic.

Bed space. Better than just a hotel room. The city of Duck is amazing.

    It was 2 rooms

3rd floor many steps far away from indoor pool heat didn't work in room. The couch was terrible even for sitting on

Spacious suite was bigger than my home! Convenient kitchen and laundry machines made the stay so much easier.

There were a lot of steps getting to the top unit I stayed in, and it was a bit of a maze at first. But it was fun!

Outdated unit, tub faucet leaked, tv remotes didn't work, towels rack fell off wall. Mini fridge froze all items, ice maker didn't work in other unit.

It was a short walk to the beach with everything we needed for home away from home.

A lot of stairs but the balcony made it worth the walk

We loved everything. Our apartment was just a couple of minutes' walk from the ocean, as well as from the sound where you can watch amazing sunsets. The complex has everything you need for an active and fun vacation. There are various games throughout the territory, as well as an indoor swimming pool and sauna, which is especially nice in the winter.

On the second day, we discovered that our dishwasher wasn't working, which was extremely unexpected and unpleasant. They didn't replace it, as there wasn't another one available, but they gave us the keys to a vacant room on the third floor so we could wash dishes there, which caused some inconvenience.

We liked the location of the property.

Our rooms/apartment were right next to another and you could hear absolutely everything going on in the next apartment. Talking, coughing, snoring and just them walking around. It was very uncomfortable and incredibly difficult to sleep through all of that noise. It’s like the walls are paper thin!

This is our second time staying at this location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the condo and all the amenities. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub at the club house.

We didn't have a lot of hot water. We called the maintenance department, and they came by and checked it out. They said everything was running properly, but it was not enough hot water for everyone to shower. Also, even when no one had used the hot water it was still not very hot.

The condo was close to the beach, though you could not see but a sliver of the ocean. It was conveniently located to Duke and Corolla. The space was comfortable with a combined living-dining and a bedroom. The large smart tv was good for watching in the living area (if it was nighttime).

The condo had no stove or dishwasher. It provided a basic stay. The wi-fi went out for 24 hours and we could not get anyone to respond to our request to check out the problem. After placing 6 calls, no one contacted us back. There are no curtains in the rooms, so there is light in the bedroom at night and daytime light makes it hard to see the television in the living area. There was one small soap to be shared for sink and bath. The jacuzzi jets did not work in the clubhouse and the indoor pool was chilly. Though it was off season, management still needs to take care of guest.

    Close to the beach

Property is very outdated and a lot of broken things in the room

Nice location, however we were on the top, third floor of unit, all outside steps. Rather tough having had knee replacement surgery earlier this year.

Location of entire property in the Town of Duck, NC was great. Outdoor pool area, beach access were architecturally attractive, although dated and very much in need of improvement. The use of exterior grade lumber is extensive over the entire complex, and it's showing its age.

Interior of our unit was very aged and in need of much updating. Bathroom Master Shower and toilet were good, but sink drain stopper inoperative and stuck closed. We had to do makeshift repairs to allow sink to drain. Kitchen especially in need of updating. Oven / range was so worn, burners loose, not level or totally unusable. Cabinetry especially dated. The table and chairs on the veranda stained and mildewed. Front entry threshold worn and unsightly.

Right on the ocean with a great entrance to the beach. Amenities were good and pool area was open and clean. The clubhouse has a game room and the pool and hot tub were new and in great shape. I would definitely recommend Barrier Island Station.

The property has been there since the 80's. A lot of things have been updated and some are showing signs of age but overall I was very happy with everything at this property. I would definitely go back.
