The staff on the day I checked out was great! Whoever was working the front desk that day should be a manager. The women in my room kept the bathroom sparkling clean. My roomies were nice. It appears safe. But...

I booked a dorm room with four beds and decided to go the hostel route. Unfortunately, the room that I was in was poorly ventilated. Quite frankly, the room did not smell good. It was that dank mildew type smell that clings to your clothes and makes you stink. My pajamas smelled like the room the next day. Is the whole room being cleaned everyday??? The hotel/hostel did NOT have this smell so it was just the room. I asked to be changed to another room or upgrade to a single and was told there was no availability. I'm doubtful that it was full sold out night on Jan. 19 but ok.Here are some issues that I see for a space that considers itself part hostel. The one ladder shared between two beds is dangerous. I wouldn't be surprised if there were top bunk injuries here. It states there are locks sold in a machine at the hotel/hostel. Not true. I had to walk to the grocery store in the dark, which wasn't far, but I don't want to walk to the store in the dark. I've literally created a trip and made selections to NOT walk in the dark.The lockers do not fit luggage. I didn't realize that until after I walked to buy a lock and tried to put my suitcase, which is the smallest carryon bag available Antler --just to give an idea of how small it is. There's no reason it shouldn't fit. I apologize for immediately thinking my roomies were to blame for the smell because luggage and etc was strewn about. It's the ventilation. Like my roommies, my suitcase had to stay out in the open. I was only there for one night. I have experience trekking and staying in hostels for over 365 nights. Luggage is supposed to fit in lockers. This was the worst hostel room b/c it wasn't built without consideration for the "hostel" experience. The room design is bad. No trekkers were consulted or thought about during the creation of these rooms. I had high hopes because there is a Freehand in NYC and I want to stay there.

Pictures online are deceiving. Rooms is small and dilapidated. Bathroom is so tiny you can barely turn around. No extra towels. Bars dont open until 5. Parking is a nightmare. Price is not accurate for valet at AC. Food and drinks subpar. If you're expecting even the bare minimum in comparison to any Hilton or Mariott do not stay here. Worse than a college dorm room.

The music in the reception was excellent. Cleaning staff were efficient.

I wasn't informed of the free 2 hour bicycle , laundry onsite or towels for the beach at the reception all of this cost me money as i paid outside of the property for these services. The rooms above the bar at the weekends , you wont get any sleep until 2am, so consider that if you need to go sleep early .

The pool area and outdoors seating was lovely, good music,good vibes

I love the people. The Staff are great team makers. Alex, the laddies and the boys are unique, dedicated, committed, responsible and courteous. Thank You all for such great hospitality!

Best hostel in Miami, good position and very friendly people, everyone was amazing and receptionist were so friendly and nice, they requested for 50$ caution, but i got back couple of hours after my check out, so nothing bad to say, good pool, bar inside and amazing people, highly recommend

The location, the staff, the cozyness

The room was little bit dark

First, the air conditioning was set to 18°C, which made the room extremely cold and windy. I only had one small, thin blanket. When I reported this issue, I was told that they could not do anything about it and that guests were not allowed to adjust or turn off the air conditioning. I was also told that even if they changed my room, I would face the same air-conditioning issue.The towels were not changed during my entire 9-day stay.To get a hairdryer, I was required to leave my passport at reception, which felt unsafe and inappropriate.The room was not clean, especially the bathroom. The cleaner did not clean thoroughly—there was female pantyliners on the floor, and it remained there for several days.During the last two days, no paper towels were provided, so I had to use my own.

Room was actually more spacious than expected, filtered water machine was a huge plus.

Walls/door were pretty thin so noise could be an issue depending on neighbors

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Freehand Miami due to a complete lack of transparency and communication. At no point during booking on Booking.com nor on the hotel’s own website was it disclosed that all major amenities would be closed for an entire day due to a private wedding.During my stay, the pool, all common areas, the outdoor terrace, and both on-site bars, and the restaurant were completely blocked off and inaccessible to hotel guests for the entire day. This effectively removed the very amenities that make this property appealing.I specifically chose Freehand Miami for the convenience of having a bar and resort-style atmosphere on-site. Because everything was closed without warning, I was forced to pay for Uber rides to another part of Miami on a Saturday night, when prices were especially high, just to access basic nightlife and amenities that I expected to have at the hotel.Despite losing access to nearly all shared facilities, guests were still charged full price, with no prior notice, compensation, or alternatives offered. This experience felt unfair and misleading.Had I known the hotel would be entirely taken over by a private event, I would not have booked this property. The lack of communication and consideration for paying guests was unacceptable, and I would strongly advise future travelers to confirm availability of amenities before booking.

I have being there before and the hostel is great. I didn’t stay for long this time so couldn’t use many of the facilities but they have a very nice shared area and pool and the hostel is super close to the beach

I don’t know if the staff controls the AC in the shared rooms but my room was freezing at night and I wasn’t able to change it so I ended up not getting much sleeping even because there was just a tiny and thin blanket on the bed. No sheets or warm blankets and when I woke up the front desk was already closed so I couldn’t get anything else to use.

Amazing location, kind staff, and a fun bar! The place was clean, and I would stay here again because of its proximity to the beach and great restaurants/nightlife. The staff gave great recs for where to go around there.

Such nice vibes. I met a few friends right away in shared womens dormitory. The design of boho in amazing, and the pool area with organic garden. Just lovely.
