James Hotel

July 2023 trip.Family with kids.Had a good experience.Staff was friendly.Limited free onsite parking(first-come first serve).Room was decent size.Hotel is a block to Lincoln mall and South Beach area.All restaurants are nearby. Free morning Donuts+Coffee.

Not very clean. I was asked five times during the morning if I was ready to leave the room by staff.

Absolutely nothing. It was so dirty and gross. The window would not close the bed had burn holes in the comforter. We left and did not stay and they would not refund my money.

Everything it was down right disgusted.

Front desk staff. An old man but very soft spoken and helpful. Free parking, huge perk.

The place has nothing nice.

The rooms have no privacy, everything that happens in the other rooms can be heard. and the main thing is NOT a place for children, children are not welcome. They hate children in that hotel.

Got there at about 8 pm. They had one guy checking people in, parking cars, everything. No cleanliness problems in our room but our neighbors said they had issues with that

I liked the atmosphere and decorations/theming and the pleasant staff. The bathroom, towels, and linens were very clean and fresh.

Being South Beach on a weekend, there can be some rowdy guests/patrons coming in and out of the hotel late at night.

Hot during the day and the beds were not comfortable also had to ask for towels

The quirky charm of the building. The staff, who were all super friendly and helpful. The location, which is great for access to the beach and many restaurants/shops of interest.

The room toilet seems is a curious low volume flush design that didn't always get rid of all paper. It also smelt a little. The free parking does not quite enough for all the rooms so we had to park in a nearby lot for two of our nights ($20/24hr).

Decoration is nice. It costs only 5 to 10 minutes to the beach by walk.

The facilities are old. Air in room smells really bad. There is no sunlight and scene.

Everything! Bed was absolutely horrible staff were not helpful at all and rude, especially the lady. Floor 3 that we stayed on smelled like mold and was absolutely disgusting. The plug in near the bed was half hanging out. The bathtub handle was broken. I mean I could go on and on. This place needs a total renovation, or at least some up keeping.

Very convenient to beach, restaurant, shopping, etc. Free parking. Improved rooms now have a small refrigerator and microwave.

Beds are double beds and very simple but we knew this since we have stayed before. When checking in we asked for room on first floor. You have to go up a few steps. Every other floor has elevator access, but we like convenience of being on first. Asked for room not on parking lot side and was assured we wouldn’t, but in the end we got parking lot side which means that on first floor you can’t open curtains specially at night. However, room was a bit more spacious than we had before so we kept it. If you want to stay a great deal of time in room and hotel, go somewhere else. But if you are looking for convenience, free parking, and a place to sleep, then this is the place for you. We missed the owner who lives there and was accommodating. Management seems new and ok but not like before. By the way, you get free coffee and donuts starting at 8 am exactly, a nice amenity. However don’t wait too long because donuts might be gone. We’ll stay at the James again as we’ve done many times before.

Nothing!!!! The only good thing is the location.

It was horrible!!! I can’t believe I payed 234$ (!!!!!) for this room.The room was IN the lobby, to the point that I was woken up at 3am by the security guard watching greys anatomy and had to open my door to ask him to shut it off, as a woman solo traveler, this felt very unsafe and uncomfortable for me. The room smelled like chemicals!, I could barely breathe in there, and the window was almost impossible to open, I had to call someone to open it, and when he did, I realized it was unsafe to keep it open, as the room is on the ground floor and no bars or anything. being so close to the entrance was very unsettling, there were no other rooms available. The air conditioning made the loudest sound I’ve ever heard an air conditioner make, and the ceiling fan didn’t work. I got there after 24 hours of flights, there was no hot water!! The tepid water in the shower had a terrible stream, It went all sided but to me, and was like tiny needles on my skin, truly the worst shower I have ever had, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, the worst! I cannot believe I paid 234 dollars for this, I was scammed and I do NOT recommend this place.

The staff wasn’t welcoming, almost rude. The cleaning needs to be a lot better. The mattresses and pillows need to be replaced

the most helpful gentleman at the reception, nice, the reservation was made immediately on the spot

James hotel provided parking and is in a very nice location. The hotel is a very unique and artistic place. The room was very clean and customer service at the front desk was amazing.

The room is a little tight but for two people it was good enough
