    • Architecture is unique! Great views of the ocean. Private balcony.
    • Amazing architecture and the sunset ritual was peak
    • I like the view, the property’s architecture, its museum, and the founder (artist).

    Cons -

    • Breakfast could be better. Juice was not natural and coffee and croissants weren’t as good.
    • The checkout time being 10Am. The checkin, being 3PM. Breakfast were just fine, and should be top class.
    • That I had to check out at 10 am. That it wasn’t a luxurious experience for what it costs.

Waterfront location. Building architecture is wonderful. Staff helping with luggage.

The bathroom, sink, toilet, shower, and all the fixtures are shockingly antiquated, reminiscent of a rundown roadside hostel. This is utterly unacceptable for a $200 USD room in Uruguay. We wouldn’t even dream of using the shower there… thankfully, our stay was limited to just one night!

As a Uruguayan, I know that Casapueblo is one of Uruguay's pride and joy. The hotel is beautiful and all in all we had a wonderful time in Punta Ballena and Punta del Este.

It is not very guest friendly. I had been there on other occasions to visit and have lunch and/or dinner there but not stayed as a hotel guest. It is tiring to have to go up and down stairs or steps at every turn. The food at the restaurant was mediocre to say the least...quite a disappointment honestly. The car park was locked by a lock and key which every time we left the hotel or came back, someone had to get out to lock and unlock the gate. This should be brought up to the times and be automated. I understand wanting to keep the hotels history but there are somethings that should be modernize or replaced. Some of the bathroom tiles, the faucets the bathtubs/showers.

The location is amazing if the weather is nice. Otherwise, when it is cloudy, rainy and cold (which was the case) the climate is rough and windy.

The hotel is showing its age. The bathroom is narrow and the shower too small and low (for tall people). The glass is not long enough to protect the water from spilling out from the shower.

A beautiful and special place with amazing architecture, views, food and staff.Only complaint was that our room had a very noisy toilet flush and the upstairs neighbours could be heard talking and moving around.

Beautiful spot. Lovely view. However- they have the gall to charge $5USD per small bottle of water and Coke. No signage or explanation that there was a fee- they were in the fridge- free water and drinks are common in nice hotels. What was otherwise a nice stay ended on a sour note. They should have signage.

I think who choose Casaplueblo looks for an historic experience and don’t mind with small problems. But it’s not a cheap place and should be more cared. For example, the wood floor has openings, simple to solve, that hurt my feet. The pool also has broken ceramics, that’s dangerous. At the time announced, the breakfast should be entirely available.

Food at Las Terrazas was excellent. We had coffee and Apple crumble for tea on the first day. Dinner was also very value for money. Although the spread for breakfast is a bit small compared to other countries, it was delicious! I love exploring the hotel and enjoying the view of the Atlantic Ocean. I especially enjoyed the Sun Ceremony at the museum.. what a ritual! The resident cats were also quite a delight!

It needs a lot of maintenance as we saw more than a few spots of rust or mold. The older lift was also making noise as it moved which was a bit unsettling. Was quite disappointed that instead of a couple 1 hour massage for both of us to enjoy together, a "miscommunication" resulted in only one masseuse and just a half hour massage for each of us separately. The massage itself was fine but the failure to meet expectation could have been avoided. We were also quite displeased with an unexplained problem of rejecting the credit card used to make the booking. It was an inconvenience to have to call the bank, confirm the transaction, and still get the card rejected, requiring an update to card details. When we asked at the reception, "it is a problem with booking.com" This kind of thing should not be happening.

    The view and location only

We recently stayed at Club Hotel Casa pueblo December 27, 2024-January 1, 2025. To say the least, this was the worst hotel experience I have had in over 20 years. It is clear your hotel makes all efforts towards special/private events and upkeeping the museum to generate money. The hotel has absolutely no service towards guests. Upon arrival our room was filthy. Dirty floors and used toilet paper in the toilet. When we complained they moved us to a new room, which was a bit cleaner (after waiting deveral hours and wasting half the day). Floors were still dirty and our 2 year old stepped on a piece of glass cutting his foot. The cleaning crew NEVER cleaned the kitchen and only removed the trash one day out of the 5 days we were there. They took away dirty towels but didn't replace them. We found a laundry bag with towels by the door way. They left a full dirty trash bag by the front door of our room. Dirty dishes from the kitchen were not cleaned. The maintenance person left a small can of paint and a utility knife in our bathroom, which was discovered by our 5 year old- a big safety problem- this could have lead to yet ANOTHER injury (either a cut or one kid could have eaten the paint). There is a very concerning electric code violation in the bathroom. You have the hair dryer connected directly to the outlet right next to the shower. This is a BIG code violation and can lead to deadly electrocution.Lastly, on new years eve we did not plan to attend the private event at the hotel. We were told by the front desk that the dining room would be closed for the new years eve event but we can order room service. When we called for room service to feed our 2 small children, they said they were closed. When we called the front desk they said "sorry we made a mistake. If you want to order food you have to pay for an event ticket ($200 a person).

    Restaurant. View.

Check out at 10:00 - to early, breakfast till 10:30. 320USD/night and even no tea bag at the room.

It is so unique. The architecture is so interesting as is the story that goes with it. The layout and levels are fascinating and having a room seaside was lovely.

Some of the charm was lost on the condition of the bathroom that needs not just updating, but maintenance. Sorry. Hate to leave reviews like this, but it’s true, especially for the cost. Its age is showing.

    9Jannaa2Posted on: 10-13-2024

The location on a cliff is spectacular. The property is relatively isolated but its restaurant provided better meals than we had in top rated Montevideo restaurants. Breakfast was generous. The apartment was reminiscent of a “dugout” house on an Australian opal field because each room was at a different level and because furniture items and even light fittings were part of the building construction. Definitely not your usual space!

Parking was either $US25 or on the road. It wasn’t a problem for us but must be in a busy period.

The view definitely is unique and worthy. Staff very helpful and lovely

The location is not the best, you’d better get a car whether you wanna go there. Is not the most comfortable hotel and I guess is not a concern when it comes a hotel built in a hill

    8GustavoPosted on: 4-14-2024

We were lucky to have a couple of very peaceful days with hardly any guests. The employees were very friendly and helpful.

There should be more tv channels in English. We missed having a coffee machine in the room
