- We liked everything about our stay. The only thing to be aware is that you cannot get dinner at the restaurant on the premises. No big deal though as Valladolid is close by and we enjoyed trying out different restaurants in town

What a beautiful and peaceful place just 10min dribeoutside of bustling Valladolid and close to Mayan sites and cenotes. We felt like princes and princesses staying in the castle like Hacienda and enjoyed the serenity of that place.

Gardens were lovely
Place is run down. Restaurant was closed and the place is far from town. Page indicates resto open 0800 to 1600. Went for breakast but the was no chef. Resto not open in the afternoonKitchen lacked sufficient cutlery and croquer
Beautiful hacienda grounds and buildings with a small but lovely pool. Very quiet during the day. Easy parking. Comfortable beds.
Unfortunately for us, there was a big noisy group partying next door. And the restaurant was not open in the evening.
Exceptional stay at Hacienda Kaan Ac. What a dream to be waking up to exotic birds singing. The Hacienda breathes history. The room was really big, and the mattress so comfortable. The staff is so kind! It was nice to walk to the restaurant for breakfast, and walk around the gardens and the house. Mega plus: we got to hang out on the roof of the hacienda and look at the stars!
Nothing!
Very nice building and nice staff
but it would need to revamp the interior which is oldish, the kitchen is not equipped at all and we were a bit far from Valodolid. Breakfast poor as well
Almost everything. The location, the setting, the rooms all very beautiful. The time of our stay we were the only guests. Even being able to bring the car up to the rooms (since my wife can’t walk long distances) was a plus. Staff was very helpful (typical Mexican). And Valladolid centroid was an easy 15 minute drive. Would definitely stay again.
Place is an old hacienda so some of the facilities, (breakfast area) need updating. And the rooms didn’t have any glasses (even plastic ones). But they quickly got us some. Nothing else.
Looks beautiful from a distance
The furnishings in the villas were cheap and not consistent with the property theme, moldy rooms, shower didn’t work, light fixture broken in bathroom and not fixed
Breakfast was good..had a good selection of food.
Should have a coffee machine in the room. We had two rooms. One room the sheets were stained and the air conditioner was not working properly. We advised the desk..and they were able to change the room for us. Which was good.
Absolutely stunning property the description and photos do not do justice to the beauty. I was a little apprehensive when I pulled up to the gate but as soon as it opened you are taken back in time. It was unbelievable that we were the only guest at the “castle” that night. We had the whole grounds and pool to ourselves. It was an unbelievable experience. The restaurant closes at 3 PM. Town is a few minutes away. I would recommend you bring a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage and stroll through the gorgeous grounds, soak in the stunning pool and spend a relaxing evening taking in the history of the area. This is not a resort where they wait on you at the pool but there is a reception area if you need any assistance, arrange transportation, recommendations, etc. In the morning, you stroll across the grounds to a beautiful restaurant where they provide authentic breakfast with several options. Great location for visiting near by ruins.
My only wish is the sold wine or beer in the reception office so you did have to go the town. My only other suggestion would be to have coffee/tea available for guests to make. Amazing stay, wish I could have stayed longer.
Quite unique with elements of the property carefully considered
The attention to detail was completely lacking - broken lights, unusable pool, a toilet just lying to one side in view of the ‘restaurant’ broken chairs lying around in the grounds. Broken unusable bikes. It really wouldn’t take an enormous effort to make this place very acceptable
Great property. Such a memorable experience
Beautiful room in hacienda with great views Excellent mexican breakfast, very private and relaxing
The house and grounds are both magnificent and tranquil! You truly get the sense that you are stepping back in time and the unfettered access to the entire house and grounds is amazing -- imagine exploring a 400 year old castle-like hacienda on your own through a music room, fully set dining rooms, spire stone stairways, and armor standing at attention over guns and hides of animal conquests on the walls. The whole house was open at night with the evening air passing through doors and windows with the evening air. (Air conditioning was available in our bedroom.) There is no paid breakfast and no food available on site after hours, however the paid breakfast was of reasonable cost and was both well prepared and attractively presented in a beautiful airy setting in the historic carriage house on the property. While we did not swim, the pool is beautiful with a base and statue at the center of it's garden-like setting. In the evening we drove a short 5-10 minute drive into the heart of Valladolid to eat supper and explore before returning and going to bed for the night. The beds were clean and comfortable. In the light of day we enjoyed walking around the grounds, exploring the chapel that sits apart from the main house and the garden-like setting of the expansive grounds. It's truly unlike any traditional hotel setting you will find. I would also have enjoyed information about the history of the property on site. We learned it was the home of a pirate, sometimes priest, and his wife and that they were killed when enemies came hunting for their gold (?), however we don't know where they died. There is apparently a historical account in Spanish. There is a statue in their likeness in the garden in the rear of the home.
After our late check in we were completely alone aside from security on the property. With no phone in the room, and not another soul staying at the property for the night, we felt completely alone, for better or worse! One must guard their thoughts against notions of such a space being haunted! If you wish to be away from it all this is the place for you. If you wish to be pampered and attended to, chose another locale. :)
Beautiful and well kept surroundings, helpful and kind personnel, old and renovated building, amazing bird sounds in the morning, colonial feel and atmosphere. Really beautiful!
This was unequivocally the best Hacienda that we visited in Yucatan. The rooms were spacious and authentic. I felt like a princess there. The grounds were beautiful. There is a museum on site. The pool area is quaint.
Spacious roomFriendly staffGardens and groundsProximity to Chichin Itza and Valladolid
Poorly equipped room compared to descriptionLimited vegan options despite prior contactNo water in room at inconvenient morning timeTried to charge us for broken shower gelPool not good for swimming and only 3 beds
the girl at the front desk was very friendly, even though she did not speak English. She was the best part the place. The room was very quiet and clean. We slept well.
no internet in the room, only available in the reception office. no restaurant (closes at 3:00PM). no coffee in the morning. we had to leave and the restaurant didn't open till 8. We finally were able to get one girl to get a modem and bring it to our patio so we could get online but it took some convincing.
This is a beautiful site - meticulously maintained, with a lovely breakfast and room.
The distance from Vallodalid is a little inconvenient since there is no dinner option at the hacienda, but it is easy to get to town if needed.
