Service, and location

The staff were friendly and helpful. Access to the beach and town was great. The accommodation was spacious and relatively comfortable. The breakfast was good.

There's a beach club next to the hotel which was blasting thumping music from 11am until 8pm so we didn't spend much time at the resort as it was hard to relax. One night they played music until 3am so the next day we moved to another hotel for the last night of our stay. We talked to the staff but were told there was nothing they could do about the noise. There was no offer of compensation for the extra hotel we paid for which was disappointing.

Our stay at Holbox by Xaloc was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel has a beautiful, peaceful atmosphere that perfectly matches the charm of Holbox Island.What really made the difference during our stay was the outstanding service from the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time, which made our experience even more special.The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the surroundings were relaxing and well maintained. It is the perfect place to disconnect, enjoy nature, and feel genuinely cared for.We highly recommend Holbox by Xaloc and would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable.

Shower a tad cold and wifi could be better

Very good hotel with nice big family room, great location and nice staff.The restaurant is also very good and we liked eating there many meals.

There is no WiFi in the rooms which is not comfortable and there's also not much of cell network so it was hard to communicate if someone is in the room.

location is very nice, the front staff is also very nice. the hotel is average and although I selected this one because I wanted a more relaxed stay, I was expecting more. If you book here, get the bungalow, those are way nicer, the rooms are at the back and I did not like them too much.

there was no water coming out of the shower when we arrived and when it worked it was cold. However, the receptionist was very helpful and got it to work with other employees. There are a ton of mosquitos, but that is throughout the island.

Not their fault, but on the weekend a nearby club was insanely loud and we could not sleep. Breakfast was not good.

No tv, no mini bar.Noise 24/7 due to local taxi.Our room location was the worse , everyone staying at the hotel had to pass by us at all hrs( noise).

Great location, absolutely beautiful facilities. Right in front of the beach with a calm environment. Staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great.

Excellent location just 10 minute walk to ‘town’. Quiet and peaceful, great for a family. Cabana was very comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Loved the ‘Library’!

Great location, a 10 minute walk from the town. Rooms were rustic but pleasant. Beach was great, sun loungers were fairly comfortable. Beach was beautiful.

When I checked in the receptionist was totally unhelpful. It was a Friday night at 9pm, I was travelling solo. I asked where I could get a drink, their own restaurant opposite was suggested. But, when I returned after leaving my case in the room, it was closing up so I asked for another suggestion. The receptionist shrugged and said 'The supermarket'. She let me walk out of the front of the hotel instead of suggesting I walked onto the beach ad turned left where there were many bars and restaurants. There was also a terrible noise at midnight in my room the second night. the room vibrated. I managed to find the night watchman and he gave me another room to sleep in. I returned to met room at 7am and all was quiet, but then it started again. I was told it was a generator from the hotel next door, they had a problem with their electricity supply. The lovely guy Adam on reception gave me a complimentary lunch the next day and was very apologetic, I know it wasn't their fault.

Nice little hotel with bungalows and access to the beach. We liked the relaxed atmosphere, the hammocks, the bungalow, the pools and the direct access to the beach

The shower was only lukewarm, which is not I would expect from a 4 star boutique hotel. Since we only stayed 2 nights, it did not bother us too much, but I can imagine this can be a nuisance if one stays for a longer period.There was no shade on one window, so it was light in our room quite early in the morning, again, this should be basic in any good hotel.

The beach is really nice. Staff very kind and helpful. Great to have the swimming pool for the kids.

Very minor comments: the breakfast was really nice with lots of options. Howeversince it is a service at the table it can be a bit slow. Also, there isn't much light in the room.

Food, staff, and the property in general

The hotel is very asthethically pleasant. The setting is beautiful overlooking the ocean. Location is great, walking distance to town. The staff was very pleasant and went the extra step. Tamara at the front desk is a big win for the hotel! It was my husband's birthday and staff was very helpful in making it a special day!

The electrical system in the rooms needs a serious overhaul. The air conditioner in our room started making a big noise so we could not use it the first night. Staff was very responsive and sent someone in the morning to fix it. By later that day, it was starting to make noises again. Staff told us unit had to be replaced and moved us to another room. The outlets in the first room didn't all work and the only usbc plug they had did not work. Lights were funky as you needed to make sure one side was off/on in order to operate lights from the other side of the room. Wifi is non existent in bedrooms and very poor throughout the hotel. Showers are not in great condition, very little pressure and we could not get warm water in the second bedroom.The golf carts are very noisy and you can hear them in the middle of the night, stepping on the gas loudly or playing loud music.

Location is amazing. Quiet street close to the town centre. Staff was attentive and frendly. Good selection for breakfast. 2 swimming pools (one for aduls one for children). We stayed 5 nights in a bungalow, it was clean and comfy.

The only negative was the smell in the toilet. The problem is not specific to this hotel. In general sewage system on the island is not working properly.

beds couldn't have been bigger. doubles are way too small for two people. would have liked to have a patio table and chairs.
