Good staff good area, good food.

No hooks or any place to hang bath towels or wet beach clothes. No table or extra chairs for visitors or to play games. Had bathrobes the first night, but then we not returned.

This was our fifth trip to Holbox since 2016 and our second stay at HM Paraíso. We love how laid back the property feels, with generous space between the villas and a beautiful expanse of beachfront that never feels crowded. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, which is exactly what we look for on the island. The staff truly stands out. The servers are attentive, kind, and genuinely warm without being overbearing. The location is also hard to beat. It is an easy eight to ten minute walk to the town center, close enough to enjoy everything Holbox offers while still feeling quiet and removed.

While staying at the hotel, guests are required to wear a wristband indicating whether they are all inclusive or not. The bracelets are somewhat uncomfortable and while we understand the purpose they detract slightly from the otherwise relaxed feel of the property. At check in, there is also a separate deposit required for beach and pool towels. We completely understand why this policy exists, but after a fairly long journey to reach Holbox, it feels like an extra and somewhat tedious step. It would be much smoother if this were integrated into the initial check in process, with an option to opt in or out. This was our second stay at the hotel and we were assigned the same villa as last time. Unfortunately, the sink, which we reported as broken during our previous stay, was still not functioning properly and appeared to have worsened. Water spills significantly, making the countertop unusable and preventing use of the shelf below the basin. There was also a persistent sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which was difficult to ignore. From a hospitality perspective, after ordering food or drinks, guests are required to sign a bill each time, even when staying all inclusive. Over the course of a nine day stay, this became surprisingly exhausting and disruptive. It seems there could be a more efficient system that allows all inclusive guests to avoid signing repeated zero balance checks.Bike rentals were another area of friction. On several occasions, we experienced delays or confusion when trying to rent bikes, particularly when renting later in the day. We were often warned that renting close to the 6pm return time would limit use the following day, which made the process feel unclear and unnecessarily complicated.Meal timing could also be improved, especially for families with young children. Dinner service beginning after 7pm was challenging for us, as our children became overtired and restless, impacting not only our experience but also that of other diners.

This place is amazing. Beautiful, quiet, super cozy. Special mention to the people working there - attentive, kind, friendly. We will definitely go back.

    Everything was just perfect.

Comfortable hotel in nice location. Breakfast buffet was great and staff (thank you, Landy especially) were all lovely.

I loved my deck with a hammock, a pool in the resort, and another one close to the beach was very nice. The beach itself was very clean and super beautiful, only 2 min walk from my room. Meals are buffet style with tons to choose from, and staff are always ready to help.

Nothing really, the bathroom didn’t have the greatest odor, but the shower pressure and hot water made up for it, they are something you don’t find at many other places.

I'd already stayed at Palapas which is a sister hotel, just next door, and had expected this hotel not to be quite so nice but my room was a Junior Suite and was amazing. The breakfast wasn't so quite so good and the dinning area and pool not as fab, but I thought the quality of the room was fantastic. I was first floor with a balcony. the bathroom appeared to be brand new, and there was a separate loo which is always nice. It was a huge room just for myself. The staff in the restaurant were equally as nice as the sister hotel, and the reception staff were more pleasant.

Nothing really. I had enjoyed the swim up bar in their hotel next door but apart from that, it's lovely .

    The location

Horrible hospitality, poor service, cockroaches and ants in the villa - so much more!!

    7JeskoPosted on: 4-11-2025

Staff were friendly, the beach was nice, close walk to town but not so close that it would feel too busy.

Our room felt a little dated and not very cozy, and the hotel is not very vegan-friendly. Some dishes like black beans could easily be made vegan, but they are cooked in pig fat so they are not even vegetarian.

Great location, on the best part of the beach. Easy walk to the village where all the restaurants and bars are. The room was big and comfortable with a nice balcony. The transportation that we booked through the hotel to go to the airport was excellent.

The shower was impossible to use. One day the pressure was almost nothing. Another day we didn’t have hot water. Also, one night we had dinner at the hotel and we were very disappointed with the quality of the food (Spanish night).

Location and size of the room

AC doesn’t work properly, but at the end it is comfortableHad a problem with itInternet is slow , but it is not their fault, the whole island has WiFi problems

The entire experience was amazing. The resort has beautiful design, gardens and a very quaint intimate feel. Our love for the close beach and ease of getting to everything necessary was welcomed. We used the bikes every day, and thoroughly enjoyed discovering the town. The only downside, was a bit of issue with water regulation in the shower as the temp was very difficult to control. Our room was very well renovated and lovely. A bit more storage, and hooks for towels and such would be appreciated, but we loved the clean minimalist feel. The hammock on the deck was the final straw of relaxation and wonderful to sway with the ocean breeze.

The location of the hotel is great. The staff is very friendly and skilled. The breakfast was fine. And the beach is amazing.

The two pool areas are placed a weird place and not really that tempting. The front garden area is not really being used for anything, it seems a bit weird. We missed having a bar or a nice area where you would want to hang out when you wen't in your room. A bit overpriced compared to competitiors.

Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly. Beach access was beautiful and the grounds were beautiful.

Pool was in the center of property and very cold. We had to be moved to another room the last night because the upstairs room was leaking into ours. The rooms need some repairs and upgrades but still nice.
