Pros +
- The hotel common areas and room was beautifully designed with plenty of natural light, plants and quiet areas, it truly feels like an Oasis in bustling Oaxaca. The staff were also incredibly generous with their local recommendations, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best time in Oaxaca and an incredible stay at the hotel. The hotel is also secure with a security presence at the front entrance 24/7
- Good design and architecture
- This is my second time staying here. The bed and room is comfortable. I love the patio and balcony rooms. The service is excellent. It’s a very beautiful hotel and the location is excellent. You can walk everywhere easily.
Cons -
- The hotel is the located on Oaxaca main street with huge buses and trucks passing through all day long. It's the noisiest hotel I've ever been in. The location isn't adapted to a luxury hotel. Don't go there, you'll have a nightmare of nights.
- The only thing that is a little annoying is it is on the louder side at night. So If you’re a light sleeper like myself, you will probably want to wear ear plugs when sleeping. They actually have them in the room if you need them.
- The noise was the only downside, as other have noted it’s on a main bus route. We took this into consideration and booked a garden patio room (which is slightly below street level) which I think helped a bit - but just use their ear plugs provided, or play white noise if you’re a light sleeper. It was worth it.

Beautiful design, handy location, amazing welcome cocktail, considerate service, and nice breakfasts. Lovely to quickly cool off in the pool in the afternoon. We very much enjoyed the amazing tasting menu for dinner on our last night.

property is special from a design perspective. stylish place and good location. concierge was very helpful with organising bookings. thumbs up!
we are not sure how it was in the other rooms. it was extremly loud. we stayed in a terrace room. the issue is that there no insulation to the terrace whatsoever. you hear everything and the heat from outside penetrates the room the same way. the air condition can not keep the room at an acceptable temperature. it seems like it would be easy to fix by having better isolation on the terrace doors. it would solve both major problems. food was mediocore. good coffee and good drinks.
The design is great but it’s showing signs of wear.
The service and offering doenst match the price. The offering is just a little sloppy and doesn’t match the experience of other designer hotels at this price point. No mini bar / fridge . No coffee or tea facilities, no extra amenities like that. Pool area wasn’t that clean. Staff were friendly but not that professional. Housekeeping had to be reminded. I’m being fussy but at this price point and with only 12 rooms I think that should be the expectation.
The staff were helpful – friendly breakfast service staff in particular – and the room was very clean and calm. The bathroom was lovely. The breakfast choices were very good.
Part of the reason for booking the hotel was the small rooftop pool. Over the 5 days of my stay at the hotel, I never saw anyone use the pool and did not use it myself, as unfortunately, it was very slimy/had not been cleaned and was therefore unusable. Given the calibre of the hotel, I was disappointed by this.It was also a shame that 'speciality coffees' attracted an extra charge at this hotel.
The entire property is beautiful with an exceptional staff. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices for any type of eater. I am vegetarian. I loved the roof top bar and the drinks. It was a perfect place to end a day in the city. I adored the patio room I was in and the large windows. While I was in Oaxaca I stayed at few properties and this was one of my favorites. I hope to be back soon.
It is louder at night, like a lot of people mentioned already. It’s on a busy street so the weekend is louder. But it wasn’t so much I couldn’t sleep and they have earplugs in the bathroom. My daughter who was with me didn’t notice at all so I guess it depends on how light of a sleeper you are.
Stunningly designed; well located; spacious room with great facilities; great food and drink; attentive, friendly staff
The pool was a bit slimy; could do with more regular cleaning
modern construction using traditional concrete and stucco materials. great architecture. great staff.
beautiful design hotel. we loved the architecture, the lights, the materials.
some basics you would expect for that price were not fulfilled. Wi-Fi was not working (staff was overwhelmed and did not know how to resolve that issue), rooms were extremely noisy (it felt like the speaker of the rooftop bar was inside our room).
Disappointing
No cold water in my bathroom to brush my teeth Blue light from AC far too bright and shined onto my bed Workmen everywhere painting and digging Zero value for money
The location was awesome, the breakfast also. The design of the hotel is amazing
Everything was perfect the only little thing was there was not a place to put the hand towel
design aesthetic excellent, staff was great, food good(including excellent complimentary dinner). our room was quiet.
Very noisy location, pool area very noisy and unusable. The guide booked for a day trip to pyramids and another day trip had extremely poor English skills. No one should have rooms on the side facing the loud road on the ground floor.
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! From the staff to the accommodation to the coffee in the morning, everything was perfect. The whole vibe in the hotel is great, it seemed like every corner and every angle needed to be photographed. Our room was great, the AC worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable and the noise was down to a minimum. Considering this is next to a busy street, the hotel has made great efforts to minimize sound (ie: windows that are sealed shut to the outside). In case you're a light sleeper, they also provided some great earplugs.
I have nothing bad to say about this hotel!! Although we were worried about the noise, overall it wasn't too bad. Some nights were a bit noisier than others, but as I mentioned above, the hotel made sure the noise was down to a minimum.
The hotel is stunning and comfortable. The rooftop bar and courtyard seating area are a little slice of oasis, so quiet. Our private terrace was also bliss - especially when we were stuck inside when it rained! The location is brilliant, right in the heart of everything, and the staff are great - incredibly helpful and thoughtful. We were brought a free dessert on a quiet afternoon as we had told them we were celebrating our honeymoon.
There is very little to fault except that two nights the hotel played really loud dance music around the rooftop pool. We could hear it clearly inside our basement room (three storeys down) with the windows closed etc when we were trying to sleep. We had to get up one night to ask them to turn it down - turns out it's not audible from reception and they claimed they had forgotten it was on. They did turn it off when we asked.
Great service, location, decor & vive!
The style & interior design of the hotel is beautiful & the staff are very friendly.
The overall feel of the hotel is beautifully styled but the rooms are really small & quiet uncomfortable & the upstairs area by the pool which is meant to be the relaxing area is incredibly noisy from the traffic on the street. The amount you pay is not worth it and I think you could probably find a better stay for half the price.
Design
on a noisy street. impossible to relax on the rooftop and the bedroom on the street side very loud traffic.
it’s a beautiful hotel, gorgeous design and nice staff. good location too.
the hotel is located on two busy streets, it’s very noisy with heavy traffic passing throughout the day and evening. one evening I could not sleep due to a party next door- I was lucky the receptionist gave me a different room so I could be away from the noise. in addition although the hotel is of beautiful design, it can be noisy on the inside too. you can hear other guests in the stairway or guests in neighbouring rooms. i would say, if you’re not bothered by lack of sleep or interrupted sleep it’s fine. if you are a light sleeper and come to rest it may not be the place for you.
