Hotel La Casona del Llano

the location of this place was VERY convenient. Located walking distance to the zocalo, the beautiful cathedral and the park located accross the street, it blew away my expectation

it was unfortunate that my room was not already paid for when i arrived since i did confirm without chance of a refund. upon arrival, the clerk at check-in desk was brief but polite. paid cash since i did not want to incur international on my credit card.

Rooms could use better beds and windows that kept out more of the noise from the busy, main street the hotel is on

Great location - an easy walk to the historic centre. It was a little noisy around there, but everywhere in Oaxaca is a little noisy, and things mostly quietened down for sleeping. The staff were very helpful, and the cleaning staff did a great job on the room.

Staff was wonderful! Restaurant was very good. Location gets an A+!

The location was great. Close to things we were interested in and close to good restaurants. Loved Parque Llano across the street.

There was a beautiful courtyard garden which was one of the reasons we were attracted to this hotel. But there were no places to sit in this garden. It would have been wonderful to be able to relax and read or whatever in the garden. A simple thing to do that would make a big difference.

The room is large. The breakfast (paid separately) was excellent.

Parking area is very small. The street with a rather extensive trafic is near the hotel.

excellent location to the arts and food area of Oaxaca. restaurant on premises. staff very friendly. the area was very safe.

Room 20 is the first room, so you h heard more guest noise

Hygiene articles replacement was too often, wasting soap that was practically new and bringing new ones, not necessary :)

No information was given to me about the functions of the room: no WiFi code was available until I asked, the TV didn't work and had to be rewired, there were no instructions for use of the telephone to call reception or room service or an outside line. No hotel employee accompanied me to my room to show me around, the reception person simply handed me a key. i had to ask the gardener how to find my room. It was uncomfortable to be left pretty much helpless in the hotel. And although the hotel promises internet, there is NO internet available.

great location and also very quiet at night. nice restaurant. available parking which is very important to us.

showers and shower mats had some mold and mildew. didn’t have enough plug-ins for electronics. bathrooms super small.

Location - good. My room was fine...loved the garden.

Would have loved to sit in garden, but no seats/lounge chairs. Had a bit of trouble figuring out the hot water....perhaps it would be nice if the front desk explained upon check in.

The return of my reading glasses that disappeared from my room. I asked the front desk, and left notes to the maid, but they never were returned. Sad that I was unable to read the rest of my stay.

Wow! This has been the most amazing place to stay! I will be back next year for sure!! The location is amazing just a few blocks from everything you need to be near!! The staff is more than accommodating (Especially to those who like me know very little Spanish!) I really felt welcome!! The food and drinks at the hotel bar and restaurant were excellent!! All in all it was awesome!!!

The hotel is located in a stately mansion in front of the lively "el llano" plaza and only a short walk away from the main sights in town.

Most of the nice building is taken up by the restaurant where local businesspeople come for breakfast or lunch. The dungeon-like rooms are in the cellar and to the side of the building. More light enters by night from the illumination of the public spaces than by day. The only sight from the window is a concrete wall. Some of the beds are really bad, the only chair in the room could come straight out of a torture museum, if you have to work on your laptop, you'll be in for a hard time.We took the room because the hotel offers free parking, but the space is really cramped and mostly taken up by the clients from the restaurant. Except from the main tourist streets, there is sufficient parking space in the streets of Oaxaca.

The hotel is not what it seems from the announcements. The nice building they show is a restaurant. The dark and somber rooms are to the side and in the cellar and offer little comfort. They took about 40 min for checkout because the lady at the reception did not really seem to know what she was doing.

The location is perfect right in front of a park and close to the main streets. The staff is very friendly and we were able to do the checkin a bit earlier with no problem. We actually stayed here in 2 different times.

The shower could be better (the hot water takes too much time).

Rooms are spacious, staff is great. Good restaurant.
