Pros +
- Beautiful hotel located within easy walking distance of all the nice restaurants and coffee shops. Staff was excellent and the kitchen produces very nice meals. Definitely the place to stay in Oaxaca, if you can afford it.
- Everyone at Quinta Real was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was great and the grounds were beautiful.
- Hotel Restaurant Espadin was great.
Cons -
- Rooms on first floor can be a little dark.
- Room was mediocre at best. Right next to the road so pretty loud at times. Cold shower if youre not into that kind of thing  I made do with it. Negligible Wi-Fi.
- Service was lacking, rude and unprofessional.

Perfect location, historical rooms, good room service.
Service was lacking, rude and unprofessional.
The hotel is in an excellent location> The building is an old monastery and has a lot of personality
The hotel is needs better maintenance.
The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Staff was very attentive. Location is great.
Everything was perfect.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Central location.
Nothing negative to say
The room was extremely small and we only had a 1ft window for light
The staff was terrific, the customer service, the breakfast offerings, the grounds of the property were beautiful and well preserved, the refreshing mecalina tamarindo cocktails at the bar, and the seamless check-in and check-out process. I have raved about the hotel since my return to LA, and I plan to stay at this hotel for future stays.
The room was near the street, so it was a little noisy in the morning, but not horrible. Guest of the hotel tend to linger and congregate outside your door and talk even though it's not in front of their room. Maybe a gentle policy to greet guests upon arrival so they don't disturb guests who may be sleeping.
Well maintained, beautiful, and historic.

Location was perfect. Pool area was serene and a nice siesta retreat. We had a second floor elite room with windows out to the courtyard. I don’t know what other rooms are like, but 239 was really nice. The beds are fabulous. Courtyard dining is lovely.
Everything was nice. For the price, it would nice to have complimentary continental breakfast. The buffet is fabulous, but I don’t always want a big expensive breakfast.
Location, pool, rooms
Not super friendly staff
Love the rooms and pool
The pool did not have enough day beds for the number of guests using it.
I liked the location, the gardens and the history behind it
Beautiful hotel, best in town, spotless, comfortable rooms, excellent concierge, great breakfast, place to stay in Oaxaca.
The location is incredible and really can't be beat for exploring the city. The building is beautiful and the staff very attentive. The rooms are large and beds comfortable.
Our first night, we were in a room off in a corner facing a courtyard by the restaurant where we could hear and feel the noise/hum from the building HVAC compressor (which was very unpleasant). We immediately noted the noise to the staff and the next day they moved us to a different very beautiful room in the main part of the hotel. I strongly suggest insisting on a room by the pool or the main courtyard.
The property feels truly magical — with beautiful alleys, lush gardens, a serene pool, and stunning greenery everywhere you look. It’s genuinely one of a kind. And the location and staff couldn’t be better.
Some of the rooms, especially the suite ones, have very small windows, so the interiors can feel quite dark. That was really the only downside. Also, since the property uses a lot of wood, you may come across a few bugs — though in our case they were not alive.
Beautiful, comfortable and safe. Location was the best possible for the activities we had planned. Staff was friendly.
Minor things, but it's an old building, so the outlets weren't in the most convenient places to plug in a phone. Also the air conditioning control light was too bright. Recommend covering it up with black tape if you're a sensitive sleeper.
Great food, (better than newer popular restaurants). Great service, best location, all fantastic.
I could not stay in a Oaxaca longer. Had to go back home to work.
Everything was great!! The people were very friendly. Food was great too. Adorable location is great. And the GUELAGUETZA show is amazing.
That we have to leve .
