    Pros +

    • The location is excellent for exploring the centre of Oaxaca. Despite the proximity to the centre the room was pretty quiet at night as we were at the back of the hotel. The room was well serviced.
    • Location, building
    • Full of character ,quirky layout and decoration. Staff helpful and welcoming, Great location right up near the cathedral within a few minutes walk of the main tourist areas . We had a deluxe double which was great with a little private balcony seating area, huge super king bed and nicely decorated bathroom. Quiet and cool within and even though central it is located on a quiet side street. Plenty of breakfast options from right outside the door.

    Cons -

    • The bathroom is extremely small making it difficult to close the door and there was nowhere to put our stuff or to hang up towels.
    • A bit dated, beds were very uncomfortable
    • We had no problems or dislikes but there are a couple of things that could affect others. It is a very old building in an old part of town which we loved but there are a lot of stairs with twists and turns to get up to second floor. Not a problem for us but could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues. Toilet paper could not be flushed and had to be put in small bin which is emptied daily when the room was serviced. This is not unusual in most of the older hotel buildings around Oaxaca due to the ancient sewer system and we had experienced it it other places.

This is a great property and super friendly staff, I would stay again. Its in a great location walkable to pretty much all over the central. Did not notice any noice especially during Dia de Muertos. Only thing to mention wifi was not string where our room was, it was strong at the front door but not in the bed room but it was not mandatory for us since prefer without network especially in Oaxaca.

    Nothing to mention.

Location. Alejandro, the front desk guy. Terrace is nice.

Room was small, as was bathroom. Some of the finishes need refurbishing.

The property was in an excellent location with easy walking access to restaurants, shopping and churches. The decor of the property was religious which was very comforting. The rooms were all unique and we loved the roof terrace with the coffee and tea bar and comfortable patio tables. Our king suite also had its own terrace with a patio tables and umbrella. The bathroom was also very nice in our room. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and there were front desk staff available all day.

The only drawback for this visit and it wasn’t a bad thing is that they are remodeling some of the guest suites so there was construction noise and dust during the day while we were staying there. The good news is that on our next visit, we will have more nice rooms to choose from.

Great location in the heart of Oaxaca. Unbeatable value!

The bed was a bit narrow for two people, room was quite dark. We couldn’t use the safe since it was blocked.

It was clean, spacious, and very central!

    Passable

Dirt on stairs, unclean WC upon arrival, very low water pressure, limited hot water

    A little dark

Beautiful space in a top location. Big comfortable rooms, super friendly and helpful staff.

The property was quite pricey compared with other, similar places we stayed at.

Location is right in the city center and the staff is really nice and helpful

    Wifi signal is weak

The decor of the hotel was very nice. Religious artifacts helped to create an ambiance worthy of "friales." The manager Alejandro (?) was outstanding. He was very friendly, spoke good English and was very helpful and accommodating. The rooftop patio was delight

The morning coffee was not ready at the posted time

Bring do central it can be noisy. However this was expected in a way,

This hotel is so cute and the location is fantastic. Close to the main attractions, I couldn't recommend a better location. Staff was lovely and helpful. Very clean. Rooms are not huge, but very efficient.

I wish they offered breakfast. They did have a little coffee/tea area guests could help themselves.

Very beautiful historical building in the center of Oaxaca. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, but we didn’t missed it because everywhere around you can find bars and restaurants. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with a view over the city. This was great for New Year’s Eve.Rooms are beautiful decorated and very clean. At night it’s quiet even in the city center. The bed was huge and comfortable.

    Nothing to complain about

Superb location; good price; friendly staff.

    Wifi could be stronger.

The guy at Reception was extremely helpful.Good place to stay.

Natural light into room. No windows.Toilet bowl pressure was low so took a while to fill up,

    9JenniferPosted on: 12-7-2024

The hotel is in an excellent location. It’s close walking distance to everything - Santo Domingo church, markets, cafes and restaurants, zocalo, museums and gardens. We especially loved the staff. They went out of their way to help us book a cooking class last minute, after the one we had booked cancelled on us.

It would have been nice to have a couple of glasses or cups in the room. The bathroom was also a bit of a tight squeeze. But overall the hotel had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Oaxaca.

Exactly as described. In good condition and very central location. Owner was very helpful
