Hotel Oaxaca Real

The hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions, markets, stores, food carts, restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores. The streets of Centro are beautiful - it?s perfect for strolling and exploring.

I stayed on the first floor near the entrance of the hotel. At times, it could be a little loud in the hallway at night and during cleaning hours.

It was located close to all the attractions near downtown.

The rooms did not have air conditioner and the mattress was not very comfortable.

The staff where incredible. They went above and beyond to help me feel well come in Oaxaca and help me visit the city

We enjoyed the proximity to everything in Oaxaca central, but that is it. The staff was polite, but not overtly friendly.

We were woken up at 5am to loud music, and then same music kept us up that night past midnight. I called the front desk to complain and they said they "didn't hear it" it wasn't until I showed them a video, and other people complained that they did something about it. The other issue I had was that they would only "refill" our toilet paper with half used toilet paper rolls and never left a spare in the morning. I had to go out and buy our own toilet paper, same with towels, I requested one extra towel and they told me no. Throughout the hotel, the plumbing is shotty. Our shower leaked and sprayed all over the bathroom, the sink did as well.. the public bathrooms have really bad craftsmanship. Just not what you expect from a hotel downtown.

Staff were friendly and location was great and close to the city center.

Walls are paper thin and you could hear everything from other guest in their room.

Shower have no pressure and the water take few minutes to get hot, they don’t have breakfast and the restaurant inside the hotel is extremely expensive if compared to what they offer, smallest tv in a hotel I saw in my life

Front desk staff was indifferent and bad customer service. Key did not work and did not do anything to fix the problem.

Staff was lukewarm at best. Hotel lacks any charm that most of the other Oaxaca places have. Rooms are tiny. We had many stains on our sheets. Bathrooms are rundown and pretty gross. In fact the whole place is rundown. Not sure where the Real comes in bc you would have to be pretty low on the royalty scale to stay here. The translation of hand soap as Bondy Wash in their bathroom is a perfect encapsulation of the experience.

They close doors at 10:30 pm and take some time to open the main gate, rooms tend to store a lot of humidity

It was centrally located.

The only sub par area of the hotel was some of the food in the restaurant. However the personnel was excellent.

That it was close to the markets

That no one took the time to let me know that the pool would not be available the first day we arrived, it was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. Also the Front desk GRO Emmanuel was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Not only to me, but to his fellow worker. I have written a long review on this matter. I wanted to speak to the General Hotel Manager last night but I was told she wouldn’t be in until tomorrow morning. I will be enquiring on her email before I leave.

Friendly staff. Had to ask for help everyday because our tv wouldn’t work right.

The rude people walking down the hallway at 2am and the fact that we had to ask for help every single day with our tv. Not worth the price though. And the fact that we got charged 4 months ago.

Excellent location. Good service and friendly staff always ready to respond. Room service excellent.

For the type of hotel , I liked everything.
