Pros +
- The location is amazing.
- We loved the quiet comfort of our lovely room overlooking the ocean. The staff were always efficient and our room clean and tidy.
- The property, buildings, and view look amazing, but when you look closer there are many issues. The breakfast was delicious.
Cons -
- We didn't like the ants, bed bugs and other insects that shared our bed. Didn't appreciate the host Tony, lying to us about the airport transport and cost. We had to ask to have our room made up, the linens changed after 3 days of a 9 day stay, the shower was cold most times and the drain remained clogged even after we had mentioned it to staff. There is no service around the facility nor the rooms or pool. Basically, we felt that the place was being run down by a staff that didn't care about us or the place they were working in.
- The shower was a little retro to put it nicely. Everything worked but the water pressure was low.
- This was the final stay after a month of enjoying Mexico. We wanted the end to be classy and memorable. We trusted the reviews, but they didn't align with our experience. This place is run down and not well managed. Check-in was unnecessarily long. A What's App contact was provided for support, but they never responded to messages. Our room was not cleaned well. On arrival, we had a dirty coffee carafe, and ants and black hairs were on the floor. We had to ask for running water and internet to be turned on in the room. On two occasions our water was completely shut off with no warning and seemingly no issue, but we had to leave the room to request this be turned on at 630 am. The safe was not functional - broken door. The light bulb on the bedside table blew and sparked when turned on. The towels were full of fluff. It was everywhere! The hot tub on the balcony was not functional and had construction debris in it.The room has some sketchy stairs to a lofted area - unique, but not really functional or safe.

Villas Fasol provided us an incredible two days. We were super impressed by the hospitality, the service, the views, and the overall hotel. The room and our balcony were so much more beautiful than I expected, the pictures of this place really do not do it justice. I really did not want to say goodbye to this place! It reminded me of Santorini! The sunsets on the little private beach are perfect. Shoutout to Tony who did an amazing job working with my fiance to plan a surprise proposal for me! We are 100% coming back someday. As for the area, we had a car so it was easy to get around. Restaurants are about a 8-12 minute drive.
Everything was perfect!
The location was great. Easy access to a private beach.
Rooms were dirty, hotel manager did not care about customer service or ensuring we got the room we paid for. We were charged for a large villa room and were put in a smaller, junior suite. Pool had not been cleaned in some time.
We came to Villas Fasol because the hotel we stayed in the days before could not offer us a room to extend our stay, so we decided to change and found this jewel. The hotel is very nice with a wonderful garden and access to two small beaches. Please note the swimming at these beaches is not possible! During our stay we had the smaller beach directly by the hotel just for us. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks, the views and the tranquility were what we were looking for. The hotel offers only breakfast but we were offered that they could help us with ordering food from a restaurant of our choice and we could eat at the hotel. We rather went to La Cruzecita for dinner (Taxi costs 80-100 Pesos). Toni as the manager and all his staff were fantastic. We felt more like at home than in a hotel. If we have the chance to visit Huatulco again we would definitely return.
We ended up in a corner room with spectacular views. As we were traveling during the off season, we felt like we were the only guests on property at times. Gloria, the manager, was amazing. She helped us with all our requests.
No food options other than breakfast. Have to choose breakfast option wisely, you will be charged for seconds.Private beach is not great for novice swimmer (could be the season).
We didn’t stay there. The room was different from the one that we booked
The room was different from the room that we booked, and also smells very bad, we complaint and they told us that they only have that one. We asked if they have another one and they told us that they have a different one, but with view to the garden. The one that we booked have ocean view supposedly, but to be honest the view wasn’t good. The manager tried to apologize and sent someone to give a fresh smell to the room, but they just make the smell worst. We didn’t stay there, we have to cancel the booking. If you’re planning to stay there, there are better options in that area. We were glad that we found a very nice place 2 blocks away from this one.
We spent 12 days at Villas Fasol with my husband. The hotel is like a treasure at a beautiful hidden spot. We had enough privacy but if we needed help, there was always someone nearby. The room was spacious and clean with an exceptional view to the ocean. Fridge, ceiling fan, a/c, safe provided. Freshly prepared, ample breakfast served every morning. There are two private beaches available and always kept clean, never crowded. It's perfect for relaxing and being alone. Highly recommend!
Nice delicious breakfast, despite few options. The view from the room was excellent! It is like being in a house rather than a hotel, in a quiet residential area, great for a good rest, but not so much for looking for something more. If you want to go out for dinner, you have to take a cab or drive.
Really clean and all the staff were really kind and they used to pay attention to any necessity we had!
The bed was a little dirty!
Very clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally attentive. The views were spectacular. The swimming was awesome.
Maybe it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room since it was a bit of a journey to restaurants in the evening.
I felt like I was staying at a house and not a corporate hotel and I loved that. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would totally stay there again
The wifi was spotty and the bedrooms can have some improvement
Jordan is an excellent host!! Wonderful to converse with. Very helpful and attentive.
Secluded small quiet beach front hotel that included breakfast. Rooms had a mini fridge and great air conditioning. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Had to take a taxi to nearest restaurant as there was no on-site restaurant/ drink service. Bathrooms were dated and property needed a refresh.
Beautiful ocean view! Excellent staff. Jordan took care of any and all needs with care and professionalism. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with several options. Quiet.
Rooms are quite dated, bare light bulbs, cracked sink, and tattered beach towels. It requires a taxi to go anywhere and only breakfast is served. I felt it was very very overpriced. My junior suite, while having a great view, was up several steep circular staircases (about 50 steps) that became tedious. The window looking out toward that beautiful view was difficult to see out of. No swimming beach.
It was very clean and the staff was absolutely amazing.. very quiet and relaxing .. Jordan attended to our every need from picking us up from the airport to delivering food to our room and making reservations for our excursions
The water pressure in the shower could have been better
Quite location and the air conditioning worked very well. Breakfast was just right for me and the staff were all very pleasant.
The beach was great other than the fact you couldn't get in the water, too rocky. The hut and waves crashing on the rocks still made for a nice peaceful location. Its just nice to take a dip in the ocean now and then.
Beautiful setting and site . Outstanding and wonderful staff. Great breakfast daily. Pools and grounds were exceptional and proximity to beaches great. Loved our villa and the main office and common areas. Amazingly quiet neighborhood. Views of ocean and coast were stunning. We even saw whales from our villa.
Although the upgrade was worthwhile for views and more space, we found the kitchen a nice space but lacking . No stove top, oven or hotplate, few utensils and no kettle. We really could not cook or prepare much food. It was good to have coffee and a small fridge.
location, friendly staff
rooms could use some make up as well as TV, and improve WiFi which was not reliable
