Pros +
- staff very good food good
- The property was beautiful. Great of you want solitude.
- The staff were very nice and helpful. Food was really good and drinks. And the view and privacy was nice.Like that it had outdoor privacy pool and access to the beach.
Cons -
- pool dirty run down had to get out of rooms hard to keep cool
- The rooms could easily be broken into. Doors wouldn’t close all the way so bugs could get in.
- Well the rooms was overpriced it needs alot maintenance on the door shades they broken there's alot gaps in the sliding doors they was alot bugs getting in and mosquitoes we had to get a mosquito net over the bed to sleep even to enjoy the pool outside we had to put on bug repellent all the time in the room. The room was warm a/c didn't cool properly. You couldn't get in the beach cause of the strong waves.

Great location, and the design and setup of the hotel is good overall.
The facilities are poorly maintained for a hotel that has so much potential to stand out. The service is mediocre, understaffed and undertrained. The restaurant food quality is low and pales in comparison to the other two properties that we stayed at with the same price point (Kyaia and Casona Sforza). The rooms are open air (poorly screened) so you get acoustic transfer from other rooms and lots of bugs and lizards in the room. If you’re okay with that it can be manageable- if not, run.
The room was perfect, a lot of privacy and a private pool. No issues with noise or sunlight during the morning. AC worked perfectly and breakfast was delicious, had Huevos Escondido don't miss on them!
Amazing stay. The hotel is beautiful, the location is great. Staff super nice. Breakfast and dinner was amazing!
It was a lovely quiet and beautiful setting.
The dinner in the evening was terrible. It was similar to a meal on a flight. Both choice and quality.Service was really bad too. I needed to ask for a drinks menu, and a drink. This was after my starter had arrived. The main course was instant plate swapping as soon as I finished the starter. That makes you feel like you’re rushed. Consequently I didn’t want to dine on my second evening, as the experience was not enjoyable. This is really bad for a hotel that is more than USD 400 per night.Other smaller things…. The cookies that were put out for bedtime…. They were covered in bugs.Surely with an open ‘nature’ place, exposed food is not a good idea. Perhaps if they were wrapped then better?
After 10 years of succes. The hotel has fallen asleep. Fully booked. Why must we put in effort.Altough dinner is included, we skipped after our first night. Breakfast is slow, count minimum 30’ before your first order. The wine selection is limited. The staff is very friendly. There is no captain in board. Location and facilities are splendid.
Ocean front. Amazing pool. Great food. Relaxing.
We had to request maintenance a few times.Road to hotel terrible.Need to recommend better surf instructor.
The staff was super friendly and the common areas of the hotel are great super pretty, well decorated and relaxing. Dinner food was also pretty good.
The room is not completely closed so there is a lot of insects and animals that get in there which made our night super tough, we were waking up all the time with animal noises, saw a few of them in the room. The room is also super dark, it is a pitty because if they were able to actually close the roles in the room were animals can come in it would be an AMAZING hotel. Also breakfast is pretty poor for a hotel this value and with 4 stars.
Great food, clean areas and good quality of beverages
1 person of the staff was rude with us
Location
Short on staff, poor communication
The only nice part is the pool.
There are not enough staff, they are not trained and you have to look for them to order something. The property in general is dark, not enough light, rooms with a lot of bugs and animals also so so dark, the room swimming pool was so filthy and full of bugs as well. The food is not good at all, not enough options and the fridge in the room does not work properly.
It’s far from everything. Very exclusive.
Rooms are getting old. Probably some renovations would be needed.
Lovely property but so hot. They really don’t have AC. I left after one night. The staff was very nice. Food so so. Overpriced for what it is. Wouldn’t recommend
So hot. And open air enough that there were a lot of bugs and mosquitos and barely any AC
The pool. This is the heart of the place and is the overwhelming draw, especially as the ocean has rip currents and is generally unswimmable. The rooms were great and the private pool was great. The food was good although breakfast was just fruit and pastries- for the money we expected a lot more.
The staff were cold and we were told the general manager quit that day. It meant there was one person on service, who was exhausted and generally playing catch up. We got our lunch and they asked if we wanted condiments. That took 30 mins by which time we’d finished eating. There was little pro activity and it did feel like a rip off. Everything was a cost and was an effort for the staff. Without the pool the hotel is nothing. It’s a design hotel and the staff need to match it. They got our bill wrong at the end, trying to charge us significantly more than owed for the room- that’s the only feature which is agreed beforehand and they got it wrong. It took a while to sort. In that respect it was all a little chaotic for a setting which is beautiful and isolated. Wouldn’t stay here again for the rate, especially because of the chaotic staff.
exceptional location and beach. it is important to know that you might not be able to swim. it has the location of a exceptional 5 star property. very cute beach also. breakfeast was good.
rooms are open, therefore there is no closure to outside, especially when it comes to temperature. pool in the room and main pool was not very clean. service at beach is very slow as it seems it was a little understaffed. cleanliness in the room on the surface was good. when trying to chase off a bat we got on top of some furniture, it is evident that the room was not cleaned at the “non visible” places for a long time. many animal feeces etc. its nothing we want to criticise to hard as this hotel and the rooms are a little bit like camping in the nature. but it is important for the guests to know
Room , location and service were all excellent
Breakfasts were good . The inclusive food in the evenings however was pretty variable . A first night meal was never matched Ingredients after this didn’t seem the best or freshest , and the chef’s skills seemed questionable Luckily we had a car rental and found some great lunch spots along the coast For the price, I think the kitchen needs to step up considerably The rooms can get breezy at night too due to design - ensure you find the quilt in the wardrobe
Fantastic location and swimming pool. Curated sound playlists. A real chef to please your tastebuds with tasty European or Oaxacan meals.
Wonderful locationGorgeous poolKindest staffGood restaurant
Not much, the rooms could be a little more sound proofCould also benefit from some light workout equipment (ex yoga mat in the room or bands)
