Excellent customer service, beautiful property, very accommodating staff, clean and beautiful hotel rooms, centrally located.
Food wasn’t great.
We stayed in the villa and had the great privilege of two AMAZING chefs —Angie & Miguel Our trip was already fantastic but they made it even more special. Thanks to both of you!
The premises were lovely, as were the staff. Great location; not too close to La Punta, but not too far either. Made for a very laid-back, easy atmosphere. Great food as well!
Very little. Really enjoyed the place! Can’t think of too much to improve upon.
The hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and responsive. The waitstaff was extremely attentive during meals, and we appreciated the room service's thorough cleaning job. There are plenty of areas to lounge on the beach, which was nice.
The resort charges for nearly everything, except for small bottles of water. Considering the price point and the limited dining options available, it would have been nice to have complimentary tea/coffee and even a simple breakfast.
We really loved the aesthetic of the property. We loved how close it was to the beach and the privacy we had when lounging at the beach. We loved the pool area. The hotel was not crowded. The entire staff was AMAZING and very attentive. We loved how they knew our names. The food and drinks at the property were very good!
The bathroom could have been slightly roomier. The space between the toilet and wall could have been a bit wider for leg room.
Location is amazing. We got upgraded from garden view to a room with direct beach view from the balcony which was absolutely gorgeous.Facilities are great and the yoga lessons in the morning are fun.
A fantastic sea view and super friendly and helpful staff made our stay a unique experience. The food in the restaurant and the drinks at the bar were unbeatably delicious.
Everything, we stayed in the Villa. It had a private pool, jacuzzi, chef, and beach. It was easily the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. I wish I could live there. And the bed, OMG the bed was the best I've ever slept in, with the best sheets and the best pillows. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.
Nothing, everything was perfect, no notes.
The property is very nice! Location is excellent.
The service they try to sell is that of a boutique hotel and we had few incidents. There was a constant sewer smell in and outside our room, without resolution with the candle they provided. Also they tried to contact me outside the booking app, to cancel my reservation offering special promos on massage, this was pretty shady, since I have heard couple of experiences from other hotels where third parties would scam. Also, a lady forgot her key and asked the staff to open our room while we were inside without verifying if it was her room.
We truly loved everything about Casa Joseph. Its design, the people, the location, the food and the overall ambient. Our room was not big but our balcony was large and had ocean view, we loved it. Their service and their employees were super nice. We liked the beach a lot, it is very large and it has a restaurant, also gets this amazing sunset. During the day, they surprise you with mini offers at the beach, which were also very nice. (Sometimes frozen fruits, sometimes mezcal cocktail shots) Every night they had a live music, it was cute. The location of the hotel is also good, you are 10min away from La Punta where all the restaurants and bars are. All in all, highly recommend this place, you will leave very happy.
Honestly there is nothing that we did not like about the property.
Amazing staff who really spoil you - they brought frozen fruit lollies and cold water to the sunbeds and generally were super helpful. View and rooms lovely. Amazing food
A slight walk into the strip, we were glad we stayed closer to the restaurants for some of our stay but this was an oasis of calm to fully relax in. The beach isn’t the best to swim at but if you walk further down there’s easier areas to swim
We had a great trip overall! Amaia at the front desk is the absolute best, she was so welcoming and kind and gave us great local recommendations. The location on the beach with the beautiful views was amazing and our room was very comfortable, especially loved the bed and shower. The view from the restaurant upstairs is gorgeous, I highly recommend having breakfast up there at least once. I loved that there were on-site yoga classes and a cold plunge even though I didn't take advantage of it.
There wasn't really any staff at the pool to help with towels, check in on us, etc. Also, it was a bit noisy in our room given the proximity to the entrance and a busy walkway.
Casa Joseph is a luxurious hotel situated in the middle of Zicatela beach, in a quiet part. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, with comfortable beds, and a good bathroom. The facilities like pool area, beach chairs and lounge beds are perfect. Staaf is very friendly upon arrival, and service on the beach is okey, although most of the time you have to walk up to the bar yourself to order. Food is very good.
Halfway during my stay on 15-th January, unfortunately a large group of middle aged men arrived, looked like a stag party or something, who behaved very badly. They absolutely ruined the whole hotel experience for most guests. They were loud, shouted continuously towards each other, from balcony to balcony, or pool area to the rooms, sometimes very offensively like 'Shut the fuck up Joe' stuff like that. They even shouted/harassed dome girls walking on the beach with remarks like 'hey sexy, come and sit with us, you want to meet him' etc.One of the guys even was very annoying while doing a work out class, shouting, walking away 15 min before end.On the Thursday 16-th they were shouting and singing loudly until 2 AM in the morning, even though I complained on the app to the staff, no one of the staff, not security or bar staff did anything. All in all this was very disappointing, the management or staff of hotel should have intervened, that this group of pigs should have behaved, in order not to disturb any guests.Definitely not what you would expect form an expensive hotel like this, you would expect normal behavior from all guests and if not, intervention by the management.
The location was amazing, view on the beach is beautiful. Staff was helpful and friendly. The band that was playing music on Friday was amazing!
The light fixtures in the room were quite bulky and since they were hanging quite low, we kept bumping on them, especially in the bathroom. The was also no hot water in the evening when we arrived, eventually they got it fixed but was a pity, since we’ve given up by that time.
Beachfront location.Stunning sunsets.Amazing staff, will bend over backwards for you.Great food, drinks, and evening live music.Yoga daily.
Very expensive rooms.Couldn’t jump in the waters.Nearest swimming beach was 24 minute drive. Our bath flooded 4 of the 6 days we were there, and while they tried to fix the problem, clearly this had happened before, so this room shouldn’t have been rented out.Construction happened 2 of the 6 days right next to us, we had to call each day to have them stop.Couldn’t get a cup of coffee till 8am.
The staff was incredible and made us feel welcomed and special. The location is perfect, on the quieter side of Zicatela so you can enjoy what it feels like a private beach and when you want to go to the buzz, walk about 1km and be at La Punta where tons of restaurants, bars and a very busy side of the beach is.The food and drinks were INCREDIBLE. We pretty much ate there all the time. And finally, the place is stunning.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, perfectly situated between the center of Puerto Escondido and the lively area of La Punta. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, and offer a sense of comfort and style. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious and well-prepared. The beachfront area is a standout feature, with plenty of sunbeds for relaxing by the ocean and excellent service from the beach bar. The sunsets here were absolutely breathtaking, adding a magical touch to each evening and making the setting truly unforgettable.
Unfortunately, the service during dinner was frustratingly slow, which affected the overall dining experience. Additionally, the reception staff came across as unprofessional. They seemed more focused on their own conversations than on creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Their vibe didn’t match the level of professionalism you’d expect from a place like this.
We stayed in the villa which was beautiful! The food was great and location wonderful. They even gave our friend a bottle for her birthday celebrations which was super kind.
We were keen to use their ice baths but they looked dirty and were the very small plastic blow up ones. We also found the food service to be insanely long, so if you want food I would suggest to pre order as it’s great once it arrives!
