    • The hibachi show was excellent! The buffet was also good.
    • We just booked this hotel because we attended a wedding, and it was the hotel where our close friends were staying at.
    • Hotel evacuated us for Hurricane Roselyn And abandoned without rooms . They also cancelled the event the went for.

    Cons -

    • Layout of the hotel was a confusing. I had a room on the 7th floor. There is no direct elevator to my floor. I had to walk up 2 levels then walk halfway down the entire resort to the elevators. I'd imagine an older or handicapped guest having trouble.
    • Arrived 2:30 pm, room unavailable until 6 pm. We were promised keys to be delivered every 30 minutes. No one even followed up. Dreams guests limited to a buffet and 1 table service restaurant. The table service restaurant service and food was not good.
    • We booked a room with one King bed, ocean view. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that they didn't have any rooms available and we got a room with two queen beds and the view to the back of the hotel. Staff at reception were rude and not helpful

    The friendliness and location

    9KristinPosted on: 1-13-2026

The friendly staff, variety of food, huge rooms, pools, & huge resort were all fantastic! Something for everyone in the family to eat. I loved hitting up the 24-hr Coco Cafe for my coffee everyday and my husband and kids had ice cream a couple times a day.Would definitely stay there again for the same price!

Not deal-breakers because I would definitely stay there again, but the only cons I can think of are:-Beds were just okay. Not the most comfortable and sunk in the middle. Covers too warm for climate.-The rooms seem to be well-soundproofed from neighbours, but the indoor hallways echo horribly through the door. I would get woken up hourly by loud guests talking and yelling passing our door. -Beach is a little rocky. It was still beautiful for walks and spotting sea creatures with my kids. Luckily, we are more pool-goers anyways.

The pools were nice. The staff was great. Especially in the Mita cafe

Food was bland and the buffet didn’t have many different options. I have been to many all inclusive resorts and this by far has the worst selection of food options. I also did not like the swim up. My husband is 6’2 and this is no way a swim up for adults. It’s more like a kiddie pool

The staff very respectful and attentive

The Italian restaurant Portofino. Was was not very good

    5MajidPosted on: 5-28-2025

The beach area was mediocre. We were hoping to spend some time in the beach with our son, playing with sands. But the beach was not suitable for that, given the abundance of rocks. The lunch options for families was also very limited.

Very nice and helpful staff, beutiful facilities, amazing service.

The food in one restaurant was bad, the pool outside our room wasn’t maintained enough and there were always kids in the adults only section

It was beautifully designed. The patio for the wedding and the wedding itself and reception was absolutely breathtaking, the views were gorgeous, we received wonderful beach massages and hydrotherapy that were excellent. We didn’t have a single bad meal or bad service, everyone was kind and helpful when asked of something.

Didn’t receive a list of activities during our stay. It was inconvenient to attempt to navigate the complicated app. Randomly found out about the rockshow from a lovely worker, no one in our huge wedding group even knew about it.If there were daytime activities I missed them all. I didn’t ever meet any type of activities crew coming around telling us about things happening at the massive resort, not by the pool or at the beach like at Secrets at the DR.We were at Secrets in the DR and knew exactly what was happening at the resort during our stay each day and evening and could plan our stay accordingly as activities crew members frequently came around telling us about what was happening and attempting to engage us in the activity. We knew them all by name by the end of our stay in the DR because they were so friendly and extremely engaging. The loud construction during the short 20 min ceremony happened to be drilling, I wish the resort thought ahead knowing there was construction going on and worked out something with the construction company not to do the loudest possible part of their jobs for these particular few minutes so we could hear the vows. Hopefully it’s not as noticeable in the wedding video they paid an arm and a leg for since they were talking directly into microphones. Those were the only issues, with the construction during the exchanging of vows, and lack of a activities crew or physical list. Otherwise, it was lovely

We liked the rooms, the facilities, the surfing and the building itself. We were there for NYE and the party was fantastic. Food was amazing at this event, they went the whole Nina yards, lobster, lamb chops, steaks, you name it. dancing and live music were very memorable in a fantastic setting.

The food was terrible in the restaurants, the buffet was decent. In fact 5 out of 7 people got very sick from the food. I think they cut corners here for sure. We stayed at Secrets in Vallarta in November and I personally got violently ill from the sushi. My niece puked in the plane on the way home, my other niece puked at the resort after eating a shrimp in the Italian restaurant ( which she even spit out on her plate)and both my kids had upset stomachs and laid in bed for an entire day.

The service was excellent and the food was surprisingly good for an all inclusive.

The physical structure is stark, and architecturally hard to navigate. I’ve never been to an all inclusive which has so many levels of exclusivity. Many areas and restaurants off limits for Dreams guests.

The look of the building. Unlimited towels.

Where do I start???? We paid over $3,000 for two nights, 2 rooms, 4 adults and 2 children. 1. The rooms are SO far away. They are far away from everything. We were on the fifth floor and you have to walk super far away to get to the beach. They are building elevators closer, but they were far from being finished. 2. The rooms were dusty. The mattress was old and worn out. The blankets didn’t look clean. 3. At the beach they have these cabanas to sit at, but you have to pay 100$ for it per day. What the hell? The pools are nasty. There is crap floating everywhere. You get out and there’s crap all over you. 4. The food was ok…. It wasn’t fabulous. 5. When you arrive, be aware for a person to harass you to buy more crap for the hotel. And if you don’t give him an answer he will find you by the pool or the beach. Finally my husband said “no leave us alone!” 6. Massages are not free. It might say inclusive hotel, it’s not. 7. When we were leaving to check out, they told us we didn’t pay for the children. Why didn’t they tell us this when we checked in? We told them/ they saw the children. Half way in our stay they called our room and told us they had a “gift” for us at the front desk. It’s all a scam. My husband was SO mad!! We will NOT be back!!

Food was amazing most of the time. World Cafe has an amazing variety.Servers were always super nice. The location is really nice, and the entertainment team were always performing activities which we really enjoyed, from beach events to daily shows at night.

First day immediately after check in an employee approached us to talk about the hotel benefits, which I assumed was maps, spa, restaurants. WRONG!! She wanted to sell us a timeshare and she did not let it go until we almost told her to stay away from us and to not approach again!! People coming from the US be aware!!!! We wanted to go to the Christmas dinner and I still can't believe she told us we were not gonna have a table available unless she made us a reservation, after we participated in a 1 1/2 hour talk where we had to bring our credit card (her exact words!!!). We did not go to the meeting because we rather dine somewhere else than be extorted, and guess what?, there were more than enough tables at Christmas dinner for us to just walk in. After the first 2 days of an employee stalking us, we no longer wanted to walk through the lobby so they would get the message and leave us alone!!At check out, my parents had problems with their invoice. Apparently they paid cash at check in, and at check out they were told the exchange rate they had used was wrong, so they had to pay extra if they wanted to leave. $200 more so they could get a little piece of paper that would allow their cab to exit the resort. Again with the extortion!!!! If they made a mistake with the conversion they should have fixed the first or subsequent days, not when you're trying to catch a flight. All the employees effort and work around the resort down the drain because of those 2 situations at the front desk.

Amazing food, all the restaurants are simply amazing, nice kid´s pool area, good evening shows, beautiful rooms, comfy beds.

The hotel administration is the worst I´ve ever seen. Their valet broke my car and they refuse to take responsibility, they simply returned the broken car to me and blamed me for that. I had to undergo a lot of back and forth discussions with them, trips back and forth to the hotel (all paid by myself!), a month without my car and a lot of stress eventually resolving it all by myself. I found a way to fix my car, but the hotel was not helpful at all, they did not even offer a dime for my expenses, nor an official apology. They only paid the taxi ride back home for me (40 minutes away) and nothing else. Shameful to be treating their paying customers like that. Still waiting for any kind of reimbursement. The way I was treated is truly a scandal and outrageous. Zero human dignity, zero customer service, this hotel is either incompetent or corrupt. Never again. Stay away.

Staff friendly. Food decent, but nothing exceptional. Kids' club was awesome, as were the staff who worked there.

Kept asking for water and never got it. It became an ongoing joke the entire time as to whether or not they'd deliver any water to our room above the standard 2 bottles a day for a family of 4. It was frustrating. Sewage smell periodically in our room. Cockroaches in our room. Just frustrating to say the least. Would have expected better for the amount of money we spent to stay there.

    4TalPosted on: 8-21-2022

Overcharged upon arrival. They said I have to pay extra for the kids. But when I booked on booking.co m the price included the kids. Be aware.
