Pros +
- Eduardo and Paulina were helpful, friendly and quick to respond to any issues. Location was ideal, and their recommendations for dinner were excellent...the hotel is old. Colonial built in 1930, on 1 hand, its quaint and historic but upkeep has not been a priority. My room had a terrace, furniture was rusty and uncomfortable. But I enjoyed my coffee (instant coffee) out there in the morning. Bed was super comfortable, quality linens and towels...I would certainly stay there again.

- Central Location. Close proximity to restaurants, bars, museums. Staff were very pleasant
Cons -
- Rooms/bathrooms show their age a bit
- Very dirty, insects in room
- 40 years ago this might have been a 4 star hotel but now its 1 star. Hotel is located directly across the street from a music venue that BLASTS until 3:30 am. Without ear plugs sleeping is near impossible. Room itself was disgraceful, paint falling from the ceiling, bathroom full of black mold. Staircase is steep and narrow. The neighborhood has changed from quiet to late night restaurants, loud music. This hotel was sold as 4 star and I paid for the "superior" room. The only good thing about the place is the front staff.

Loud loud nights

Noisy, not clean enough, and with a lot of humidity in the room.
All the above.
I liked the location of the hotel
My room was dirty , the toilet didn’t even work & I had the presidential suite
The staff was very kind and I enjoyed the sauna. The bed was also very comfortable
The rooms were quite dirty. I understand the staff cleans them and do their best although I believe it’s a problem of maintenance and of some level of hygiene (for example the bath tube had some very old stains; the structure of the bed had very dirty upholstery that maybe cannot be cleaned but has to be totally replaced instead). Also the walls had some holes and the bathroom smelled bad. The bed pillows were too big and high. The biggest problem tho was the loudness around.. I was there the week before Dia de Los muertos and during my last night a place next to the Hotel played trumpets and drums til 3am very very loud. I’m just saying that In case somebody has to wake up very early, like happened to me, it’s very hard to sleep.
Good bed, good room size.
The bathtub was a bit dirty.
I'm a happy repeat customer here. Pretty rooms with high ceilings, water kettle in the room is a nice feature. Staff have all been nice. Great location to walk to Avenida Chapultepec and Colonia America restaurants. Check in and check out were easy, I haven't tried their restaurant but other people seemed happy there. The night doorman gave me helpful local recs too. Great place.
Some of the ground floor units have windows facing a courtyard that guests pass through, or are close to the front desk in earshot of the buzzer that peole ring at night when they need to be let in. If you're sensitive to noise, just bring your earplugs or headphone and you'll be great, or ask for a top floor, further back room.

The bed was big and very comfortable. It's very close to many bars and restaurants. The staff was very friendly.
Our bedroom was number one which was next to reception and we could hear everything happening in there. Also, we heard the music till late hours from the bar close by and didn't let us sleep. It was raining and the water came into our bedroom through the wall. There was a puddle on the floor.
The staff is very friendly and does their best to help. The neighbourhood is very convenient, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.
The bathroom was clogged, which caused flooding throughout the entire washroom. As a result, unpleasant smells came from the drain.Additionally, the room was not soundproof, and there is a bar just around the corner. The noise lasted all night, making it impossible to sleep.
Convenient are of Guadalajara and right off of Av. Chapultatec which is lined with bars and restaurants. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Like other reviewers said, the extremely loud music from a nearby restaurant or bar is extremely loud. It is so loud that wearing earplugs and listening to my own music couldn’t cover it up. The music goes on late into the night. I stayed here for 2 nights and got very little sleep. If you want to sleep, this is not a hotel for you.
Staff was excellent. Super friendly and helpful. Hotel is really charming and clean. Bed was great with good linen. Lots of restaurants nearby. Love the multiple outdoor seating areas and secure parking.
The downfall is the really loud bar across the street. Unable to sleep due to the noise. Picked the presidential suite for the tub on the private patio and wasn't able to use it. No hot water or pressure.
Location (although loud in the night), parking.
I booked a room with SPA bathtub, but got one with a single bathtub. Also, first night the air conditioning was not working until they found a proper remote control. Last, the room was dirty, until I requested room cleaning for the second night.
I like how the hotel smelled in the lobby and even in the rooms
The beer I would buy there when I would open the can the beer would puff out its beer head instantly and that happen with each Heineken beer I'd bought there.
The terrace. Art deco furniture
More light. Windows
The room was not very clean. The toilet ran constantly. The door to the room was rotting and broken at the bottoms…..And the bar next door played music so loud until 4am I could feel the bass in the room. Impossible to sleep.
Comfort, staff, location
Bit of mold in closet
The architecture of the original house
The lamp on the bedside table didn´t work, the safety box did not work either . The cleaning staff left me an envelope asking for tip. I could never join the wi-fi in my room. But the most awful thing was the noise util 3 am both nights I stayed in. There are two bars on the block and corner very close to the hotel. I could not sleep until they close. The volume is not a normal party one, the music came from the terrace so no walls to contain the noise. I came home tired as if I was on my worst days of work. No accountability at all.
