- The location
- I loved this hotel! Leaving the window open and wake up in the morning to the sound of dozens of different birds was magical. The restaurant (located in a inner yard) was phenomenal! This hotel has 500 years of history, and there is no other like it.
- The location is good, near the downtown area of coyocan and in easy access to a myriad of shops and restaurants.
Cons -
- El agua de la regadera bueno en general huele a humedad, creo que deberÃan limpiar sus tinacos. Y tal vez poner un mueble para poner las maletas y no tener que dejarlas en el piso en general el hotel está muy bien. .
- Since this boutique hotel is part of a restaurant there is a little lag in the communication, but once they hear you out they go above and beyond to help you out.
- Do not book your stay here. The customer service was nonexistent. When we arrived during the designated check-in time, we called and texted the Whatsapp number multiple times to no avail. There was no one to open the gate, and we were left standing outside until another guest eventually came by and let us in because they had checked-in the day before and had a key. There was no concierge once inside, and we still could not get in contact with anyone. It was not until another guest came in, trying to also check-in, that after 30 minutes they were finally able to reach the owner who said they would "send someone by." Someone did eventually come by and let us into our room. Unfortunately, the bathroom in our room was filthy. There was a dead moth about 5 inches long on the bathroom sink, so dried out that it had to have been there for weeks. The jacuzzi, a posted amenity of the room, was covered in dirt, with a sign that said that we weren't allowed to use it to conserve energy. The toilet seat was broken. The shower had spider webs and spiders crawling up it. We went down to the kid that let us in and he was unconcerned, telling us we could either get a new room or have it cleaned in the morning. With the state of the rest of the building and a 3 AM wake-up time to go to an excursion, we decided to spend the night and have them clean it the next day since it was already almost midnight. We left early in the morning and came back around 3PM and the room had not been touched. There again was no concierge or the kid from the night before to try and switch rooms or check-out with. We messaged the owner stating we were leaving and needed a refund. They did not reply until days later and said that a refund could only be processed through Booking.com. I called Booking.com, who said the hotel had to confirm the refund before they could process of the refund. The owner/hotel never responded to booking and we have not received a refund. Do not stay here.

The rooms were clean and location was great but, we did not get one of the rooms that was reserved.
-Room reserved was not provided.Initially, they wanted to give us one room instead of the two reserved.-No hot water one of the nights due to a close valved. -Poor communication with host, and never answered my phone calls. -According to the host one of the rooms reserved was not available due to pluming issues but, one of the nights the “room” was occupied and they were using the hottub that was “broken”… ? and. Never saw a refund on the room denied vs the room given. -an awful smell of sewer in our room all three nights, luckily we were only there to shower and sleep. Would not recommend this stay at all.
The staff was great location. Great. The Hotel was very rich in history
It was cold at night and the heaters provided were insufficient It was cold because the walls were made of stone. They’re very thick and it takes a long time to heat up the room. This is natural. But in the summer, it would be great cause it would be cool
Maybe the location, on a corner a bit set apart from the touristy yet relaxed madness of Coyoacán. Absolutely nothing else …
Dark and damp, musky and moldy … just the smell of the place was sufficient to invite upper respiratory distress. Seriously, don’t even consider it. We stayed for about eight minutes in total … grateful to Booking.com for bailing us out. The personnel, really one snarling guy with a cellphone, might be fit for an inner-city junkyard. I was more stunned than the smell of deterioration by the difference between what I saw of the ratings or the photos and how the place really is, a disaster of a health hazard.
No breakfast available. Restaurant shutdown sometime in 2025. Location was good, and only reason we selected this.
3 out of 4 days there was no running water. hot water was even worse. Their webpage claims 24 hr service, but it took a long time to find someone to notify of the lack of water. Previous messages, which I failed to review, indicate this is a long standing problem, so the owners clearly decided they can operate this way. It is really not a hotel, much more of a hostal, although it charges like a 1-2 star hotel. I'd never recommend this place to anyone, unless they want to have disputes with the staff, which are highly unresponsive.
The location
There was no water for two days, there was a lot of noise and they didn't clean the room for 6 days .
The location was great and loved that it was a convent previously.
There were water issues with the toilet not flushing and no water coming from the faucets. The first day it was fixed and the second day it was not, leaving us with a bad felling about our overall experience.
Cool, old convent. Really could be an awesome place with a little TLC. Location was great and it was very quiet. Room was decent sized. We loved the old colonial feel.
Was rather neglected. The restaurant was closed and it felt oddly vacant. A cool old place but rough around the edges. For the adventurous.
Location cleanliness
No water at all for first day and a half. Hot water only once in five days and then only for five minutes.
The building is lovely. Build in stone, with a lemon tree in the patio. 7 minutes from Coyoacan main square.
Isn't an hotel. Just room’s rental. I booked an hotel. No staff or services at all. The kitchen’ utensils and table ware were nasty /incomplete. Hot water in the shower stopped abruptly. Black water smell. Mold on the roof, loose and dangerous outlets. They don't have even a proper entrance. You cross a restaurant to get in and when it is close you have to use a back metal door. Using the TV was hell, 2 remotes, no instructions, I had to guess. Ohh and the toilet was stuck mostly all time. Thanks to Natalia and Angel I was able to deal with the my disappointment.
The room was very cute. Lots of space. Bed was big and comfortable.
Little to no hot water and even no running water a day or two.
Staff was so nice but confusing who to go to since there is not a front desk. I am thankful for the bartender who spoke excellent English and helped relay messages. If there was more of a division between the restaurant and hotel a lot of confusion would not happen. Spacious room with very comfortable bed.
My room had a horrible smell. The staff tried to help it but after 8 hours it was unbearable. No hot water! Froze! I was told when I was due to leave at 6 am a staff member would be at the entrance. From your hotel room you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the front door. It was pitch dark but I found the front door, locked and no one there. Luckily I figured out how to unlock it.
It's a wonderful old beautiful building nearly 500 years part of it and the people are just fabulous accommodating me to let me in early and I had to leave another place that was terrible with no heat and they provided me with a space heater to heat the room.I highly recommend it for anybody
Location, historic building, staff
Spa tub could not be used, issues with water in shower alternating between very hot and very cold
The property is beautiful, it’s a 500 year old convent. That’s why we booked this place. The location is perfect for exploring Coyoacan which I highly recommend.
Couple of points:1. Mexican plumbing does not include p-traps in the showers which is why you will see small plastic drain stoppers covering all the drains. The lack of a p-trap allows sewer gas to rise into your bathroom and smell terrible. This will be a problem at any non-modern/boutique hotel. At los Camilos room 4, the bathroom vents into the rest of the room, so trying to dispel the smells makes the whole situation worse. We opened all windows while we were out during the day and that helped the situation, though gases will collect in the bathroom overnight. 2. For half of the stay we did not have running water and did not receive a reason why or a realistic timeline of when it would be fixed. My home city has its issues with water supply so I consider myself understanding, but I would have appreciated any level of communication from the property or an offer of fresh bottled water to make up for the lack of running water. 3. There is no front desk and almost no communication from the property, we didn’t know where the front door was once the restaurant attached had closed its doors. It was easy to find but stressful to try to figure out at midnight in an unfamiliar city. In addition to the lack of communication about the running water issue, small things like this began to add up to a less than stellar experience. I really wanted to like this property, and I did in a way. The building itself is doing a lot of heavy lifting in the experience but the management is holding it back from being excellent.
Location, location, location.
It is not really a hotel (as advertised in the Booking listing), it is a restaurant with rooms attached. Upon arrival in the early evening, a staffer was finally located who could show us to our rooms. Google translate was very helpful in communication. Water in the room was sometimes functional, never really when you needed it.
It was very interesting!! The history of the whole place, the paintings, furniture make this place very intriguing. The bathroom was beautiful! They have AC/heater and very warm water.
We didn’t have any water in the room, the staff was not responsive at all. We honestly felt like we were there alone. We were able to use the hot tub because there was a sign that basically said not to and it wasted too much water.
Location and beds
Staff wasn't available we were on our own. Toilet didn't work neither did wifi. Only cold water. No cleaning. Haunted. Left early because it was not dirty and no staff around.
