Great location, friendly staff

Across the lobby area there is a restaurant. The food is good. Also, the place is very clean. Their elevator was nice to have as well.
The property is near downtown area, so it can be noisy outside. The street noise is heard from the rooms, but that’s expected, considering the location. It didn’t bother us, but keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper.
Room is a decent size
Staff are incredibly rude, you can hear all kinds of noise from the street
location is great as you can walk to Bellas Artes, the hotel has been renovated and is good, but you can tell that is an old hotel, the price is great and what you get for it is actually really good.
the wifi is really bad, is slow probably 8mbps and at least in my room the signal wasn't that good either
The location was close to Bella’s Artes
The bed was uncomfortable, room outdated. The Restaurant closed 20 minutes early, I had to walk at night to find some food.Staff was not helpful. I wasn’t offered an upgrade and was charged for two people instead of one.
Location was good. Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower was ok. I had minimal interaction with the staff, but they seemed friendly. For the price, this hotel met my expectations.
Rooms were noisy - I could hear noise from the street and from the hallway. A couple of nights I was woken up by guests who were yelling in the hallway. Also, my blanket was very thin.
Gym room was enough for me to get a good workout and the staff was very kind
You hear everything going on in the hall and we even heard from the other rooms. It seems that many hotels are like that so it might be the same other places. The bed was very soft. This is personal preference though and others might like that. We later found out that we should not stay in the centre. It is close to many tourist attractions and nice during daytime, but the centre is not the best place to stay during evening/nighttime.
Been staying here before and always been happy and satisfied. Good service whether reception/front desk or room service/cleaning. The location super central less than ten minutes walking from Bella Artes, 15 minutes from Madero and 20 - 25 from Zocalo
A detail which I have drawn the attention to before; in the bathroom it would be super nice if there was a door to the shower cabin so that not the entire bathroom floor is wet after having taken a shower. Beside that; in the room I had (202) a small section of the floor was damaged and should be fixed/repaired. And for the ones who doesn`t speak any Spanish; a little knowledge of English at the front desk would be nice. Nevertheless minor details which would not keep me from coming back
The good thing about this hotel is the location which is within 10 mins walking distance to metro stations and the price is cheaper.
The bad thing is that the hotel is sloping and we felt dizzy when entering the room as it is not flat. We were on level 2 and had to change room to level 1 but only slightly better. I put a water bottle on the floor and it rolls downhill. The shower area is half covered and the other half is not so when showering water splashes out and the whole bathroom floor is wet. Noise is also an issue as the walls are paper thin and you can hear people talking down the hallway or in the next room. Wifi is unstable. All the receptionist do not speak English and had to use a translator to converse.
How clean it was
There was a group who was partying until 3-4 am and the staff didn’t help too much to make it less noisy, so we had some hard time sleeping
I would say the location is good for that neighborhood. The staff were wonderful and really helped us with questions we had. The maid saw that we had three people, and automatically gave us a third towel instead of us having to ask for it. Very appreciative of that.
There is a construction site next to the hotel, and they start construction early. So beware of that because they don't seem near-done. The first night was difficult because we could easily hear a screaming children in the room across the hall, but the following nights were quieter.
To give credit where credit was due, the bed was nice
Everything except the bed. I'll start off by saying there were ants in the room. I was squishing about ten a day. Beyond that, the room just didn't seem ready. I was meant to stay at 409 but as the key card didn't work when I got there they put me in 109. (Side note, that wasn't a queen room like I'd ordered and I didn't appreciate being bumped down.) When I got into room 109 there were sizable patches of unpainted wall where they must have either run out of paint or given up. The sink in the bathroom had tiles missing and you would see the rusted pipes and bracket holding it up. I could honestly forgive that though if it weren't for the noise. The corridor outside echoed so badly that you could hear everything going on outside. Every footstep, every conversation and the lift has a heavy metal door that slams shut. when it does, it sounds like someone's taking a sledgehammer to a wall. I was woken up several times in terror by that slam meaning that on the last night I stayed I only got an hour's sleep.
Dirty and very cold and loud
Hotel exceeded all my expectation. I love the easy access of Parking next to the Hotel and the security. I love the Restaurant from the first floor. It is definitely a five star Hotel. It is my third time and I definitely will return.
It would of been nice if the Hotel had AC., but overall the weather was accommodating to the comfortableness
The property was located closer to everything in central Mexico City.
The property only provides with 4 towels 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels. No towels for the floor.
Not much at all.
No A/C.; Uncooperative Management TeamProblems: a) Could not open the window (with the binds up) to let fresh air in because of a very bright flood light across the way shining in the room (lit up the whole room so you couldn't sleep).b) No ventilation in room (besides two fans going), but the only way to get some air flow to reduce the hot temperature, was to open the door to the hotel room (anyone could come right in). c) Finally, after staying awake until about 4:30am, and getting sick, we took some medicine to fall asleep for a few hours, and left the hoteld) Hotel management agreed to refund the trip, but after 1.5 weeks I still have not yet received my refund. Bookings.com is trying to get the refund, but so far, nothing.
Very clean and confortable with friendly staff. Free parking when bringing my own vehicle. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It's not too far from Alameda and Bellas Artes. It's within a 15-20 min walk to Arena Mexico if you're bored and want to go for a Lucha Libre event; I highly recommend attending a Lucha Libre event if your itinerary allows!
Hotel san Angel is great for confort, value and location, don't give me wrong. But if I have to mention something then perhaps it would be it's business center. Only because the computers are a bit outdated. Most of us that travel for work will have our own Laptops to use, but if it wasn't the case it would be a bit hard to do some work as some of the tools needed are outdated and processor/ram wouldn't handle them. Again, not a big deal if you have your own laptop since the Internet signal is strong for zoom or webex if need, plus it quiet.
Nice hotel with big rooms and comfortable big beds. Good location not far from historical centre of the city. Walking distance from main atractions of the downtown. Clean rooms, cleaned daily. Safe neighbourhood.
Very poor soundproofing of the rooms, both from the corridors and from the street. You can hear every passing car and the hum of bus engines waiting for passengers outside the hotel from early morning. Attentive and helpful staff, but who do not speak English.
