Grand Esen Hotel

The location is superb, right next to Sirkeci station, which was perfect since we had a train to catch at Halkali with big bags. The manager, Uveys, was very helpful and fulfilled all our needs.

The mattress and pillow were terrible. Bed clothes must be replaced. Saw a cockroach in the bathroom and on the breakfast. At least a renovation is required for my room.

One star is way too much for this hotel, if that is what we want to call it. The room was dirty, every peace of furniture on the room was dirty/smelly/ broken or about to break. Thanksfully for some reason we got upgraded so instead of the standard room we got a room on the last floor with an amazing view. But this is the only good thing. No comment about the breakfast which is served in another hotel, no variety, and the few things served are not good. Breakfast is served until 10.30 but if something is finished no metter if it is 8/9 am they will not replace it. The people working there were friendly but unhelpful in so many different levels. We needed an iron and they asked to come in the evening to collect it, when we got back to ask for it the same receptionist said they have never had one and he had to go get one from another hotel, which i thought it was hilarious. On top of it my boyfriend wanted to organise a surprise for my birthday, he planned everything with the guy at the reception and once it was the moment he just ‘forgot’. It says it is a 3 stars hotel, donMt believe it! It is a scam! They should have a star just to be jenerous. Place not to go

Our stay was actually in another building really near to this place, we stayed in a new building which was really comfortable. Locations is good, near to all touristic places. Also at night is really quiet so you can really sleep.

A very good option in a great location in Sultanahmet. From third floor (front rooms) you can see Galata Tower and one of the bridges. The buffet breakfast is good, tasty, with different options. The staff absolutely cooperative and helpful. Special thanks to Ismail! The building is just meters away of one of Marmarail exit, less than 200 mts from the Bosphorus!!, close to a tramway station, with lots of restaurants and souvenir stores around. We had an extremely positive stay in Istanbul. This time, this was thanks not only to the beautiful weather, but also to the hospitality of the staff at the Grand Esen Hotel, particularly the owner's son, Yuvais. They welcomed us with tea and offered to upgrade our room, recommending that we choose one ourselves in one of the two buildings on the upper floors with a view of either the Bosphorus Strait or the Golden Horn. Don't be put off by the small, imperfect rooms or breakfast at the café in the neighbouring hotel. These drawbacks are more than compensated for by the hotel's hospitality and friendliness towards guests, and its perfect location in the heart of historic Istanbul allows you to make the most of your time in this great city at minimal cost.

Nothing really. The room was nice, it was a bit older, but they let us choose out of 3 rooms and we chose the largest room. Staff were excellent and very friendly, welcoming and happy to help.

The room was tiny..not even 9 sqm... From the door right in bed. And there was a balcony on the photos and we got 30 cm of "balcony"

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Grand Esen Hotel. Üveys Sayilgan the night manager welcomed me my first night in Istanbul. He greeted me with a hot tea and took the time to explain in great detail all the best places to eat and shop in the area and how to get around. I'm forever grateful for his hospitality and insight into this amazing city, he really helped to kick start my journey on the right foot. The room was clean, had a sweet view, hot water and good wifi, not to mention the breakfast was superb, price is super reasonable too, can't recommend enough.

The location is great, the staff was incredible, I am a solo traveler and they were super kind and protective with me, they gave me excellent advise and they even show me some great places to eat and buy. Breakfast was great it has different options and it was delicious. They clean the room daily which is very nice and they were very helpful :)

It's a little bit noisy outside so earplugs are a must
