Ares Hotel

The staff was very nice. It's in a very good area too. The tv's are place in a terrible spot were you can't see from your bed. Also the shower water never got hotter then Luke warm. I didn't even take a shower the second day.

The view from the hotel was amazing. The only issue i had was the rooms and the bathrooms were really small.

The restaurant downstairs did not give you 10 percent off as the hotel said they would.

So friendly and kind people. Always smile.

No hot and nice push water , i have to ask every time to fix it .Small flat screen in wired position .No international chanel .

The location was fabulous, and the staff outstanding. Early check in worked better than expected. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Joseph was very attentive, providing us with snack, water and even lending us his bus pass. We were in the center of all we wanted to see on our short stay. Thanks so much!!

Internet was a little slow, but we didn't need much so it didn't impact us. Hard to find something to improve!

That's really old hotel and it needs renovation.

The location of the hotel is excellent—it is just a two-minute walk from the tramway station and situated in the heart of Istanbul. However, please note that you may need to walk through a small alley to reach the hotel.From the hotel, you can easily walk to some of the city’s most important tourist attractions, including the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Sultan Ahmed (Blue Mosque), Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern.The room is of a standard size, comfortable, and equipped with all the usual amenities.Overall, it is a very nice hotel and a pleasant place to stay.

Location was very near to Mosque. Stuff was very friendly.

Elevator too small, Bathtub is too high to climb, Transportation was not going till Hotel. The restaurant stuff was rude when I was smoking terrace at rooftop and the rain was outside.

The best part about this hotel is it’s location. It’s located right in the city center so it’s close to everything. The staff is also very friendly. A/c was a lifesaver since it was very hot.

I would say this hotel can be chosen for location only. All the rest leaves much to be desired. There were 2 of us but we booked a room for 3 to have 2 separate beds. The room was very small — I have no idea how 3 ppl would fit there. The safe in our room was broken which was problematic. They promised to fix it but they didn’t. They offered us to change the room but we didn’t want to pack again and carry all our stuff to another room. There is literally nothing in the room: no complimentary water, no tea / coffee, no snack, no tissues — nothing that you would regularly find in a hotel. There were no meal accommodations at all. Breakfasts were included but I am vegan and I could not eat anything there. I asked staff if they had honey, they said that they didn’t. No honey in a hotel??? I think there are plenty of other hotels with the same great location there, so I am sure you can find another one that will have all the necessities in addition to having a great location. There are hotels there in every building, literally.

GREAT location, friendly staff!In April we had some cold days, the room was warm enough and that was great. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure.The breakfast was nice and very satisfying. Good coffee and bread!

I would have liked the handhled shower had where to place it instead of holding it all the time.

Its location is an easy walk to the Blue Mosque close to MANY restaurants. It was not a Hilton by any means however it is good for the price. The staff was wonderful especially Joseph.

Cannot drive directly to it. A short walk from the taxi hub is required.

Perfect location next to Sophia , blue mosque, and cisterns, transportation, restaurants etc… Ali, Joseph, Sam, made me feel like family and were so helpful, friendly and just amazing!

Sound insulation between the rooms should be improved. We had very nosy neighbors

We stayed for a week, very good service from the reception, very polite.Excellent location in the Sultanamet area, excellent access to most important tourist places, the price is very good considering the infrastructure. The best thing has been the help they have given me especially by Ali: since I forgot my iPad, they have been very efficient and have helped me to recover it. They have sent it to Germany again. My rating: 10.

Bathroom is little bit small and not comfortable for my height 193cm ?

The hotel has a private, roof-top terrace with stunning views of the Hagia Sophia cathedral mosque as well as the Istanbul skyline.

Because the hotel is literally across the street from the Cathedral mosque, taxis cannot bring you directly to the door step. The area is closed off for vehicle traffic. Do not worry they will drop you off a 5 minute walk away. The Hagia Sophia has a "no god but god" sign hanging between two of its main minirets...the hotel is across the street from that in a cozy alley of shops and restaurants.

Location of the hotel is perfect, near many tourist attractions. It's well connected with public transportation, tram station is a few meters from the hotel and with that you can really go in any direction of beautiful Istanbul. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed for pleasant stay. The staff in the hotel were friendly and always ready to help. Many restaurants really close to the hotel, including local restaurants and global fast food chains.

We were greeted by a couple of very friendly men who checked us in. The view from our room was nice as we could see the Bosporus, and the location of the hotel meant we were near all of the tourist attractions. There was a nice top floor with a good view of the surrounding area.

We walked past it a couple of times as it’s easy to miss. The rooms could do with a little repair/refurbishment as they are a little old and out of date. Although it may be that a lot of hotels in the area are old and in a similar state, we had a few issues with our room (plugging something in happened to turn on a light and cause it to flicker, walls were damaged and debris had not been cleared up, and the safe was not attached to wall so it could easily be removed). Unfortunately we also saw a cockroach in our bathroom on the first night so we switched rooms on the second day (the staff were apologetic but for some reason couldn’t switch us until the following day). The second room was a little more presentable than the first but again a few things that could easily be fixed (shelf almost falling off wall, shower head broken). For some reason, the fridges in the rooms were also on the same electric circuit powered by the key card – so if you were to store food in there and then take your key card from the room to leave, the fridge would be turned off. Another observation was that when the rooms were last painted, they had just painted without moving the furniture and painted all over light switches and electric sockets.

The staff and host are really good.

The building needs maintenance or face lift they can really do good business as the location is excellent. Also, they can charge little more and provide improved breakfast options. I had issue with hot water for two days during my stay for both the rooms booked.
