    Pros +

    • Nice location, no noise, good breakfast
    • The location of this hotel is very good. The staff is nice, but language barriers can cause problems. Some rooms are very nice. Others are not nice. I would suggest requesting rooms numbered 5 through 10 for short stays on a budget. It is a good value for those.
    • This is a great place to experience "Old Town" Istanbul from the moment you step out the door. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Museum, and more are a ten-minute walk away. The intimacy of the place is one of its charms; the first night, I was invited to join a group of Russians for a couple of glasses of wine. The conversation was a bit limited, but this is the crossroads of Europe and Asia, and after a few glasses, no one was keeping track of grammar. The staff is very welcoming and quickly makes you feel as if you are visiting their home. This is not the Marriott and doesn't pretend to be. However, you will leave here with a story or a memory you couldn't have gotten on polished marble floors.

    Cons -

    • Old bathroom, but not much of a problem
    • It is not well-suited for longer stays.
    • Not so much a negative as a caution. The stairs may be challenging to those with mobility problems. I am sixty-seven and had no problems, although the staff did carry my baggage up to the room.

In the heart of beautiful Instanbul, walking distance to main tourist attractions. Our hosts were very nice to reserve secure parking for us, as well as to attend to our needs. Definitely recommend. We will visit again.

The hotel was in an excellent position... A short walk through the park to the Santa Sofia and other great sights of Istanbul. There were also restaurants nearby, The young hotel desk staff were pleasant; the young woman who served breakfast was obliging, made a good omelette, and filled my flask; the staff willingly carried my suitcase up (to the second floor). The bed was fine and had a bed light. There was a shower with hot water.

    1. There was no heating of any kind, and it was deep in the winter, so it was freezing. It was also my fault that I did not check this, but heating is normal.2. The experience would be much improved by a kettle, a bottle or two of water and table or shelf for drinks.3. The steep and narrow winding staircase, without any railings, was risky at my age (80) and for anyone.

The location was good, staff was co-operative

Breakfast was below average, hair dryer wasn’t working, it was v cold and the ceiling was v low.

Loved the location of the apartment ? and the staff was very friendly throughout our stay.

Toilets weren't very clean, rooms are very small, the tv was not working, the terrace was so messy, no view from our room, nothing like the pictures on the site!

The property is located right near the blue mosque, and easy to reach. The staff was so polite and kind and they upgraded our room to the premium room, which was fantastic, we could see the mosque from our window. Also, the bed was really comfortable and the breakfast they include is really good.

The only thing is that the room was a bit cold because of the windows, but they have AC so we could make it warmer.

We loved the area in Sultanahmet, close to the big attractions of Istanbul. The hotel is small and friendly, but not in any way luxurious! The breakfast included in the price is very nice. Our room (no 12) on the top floor, of what had been once a roof terrace, had a fabulous view out to the sea of Marmara and to the Blue Mosque, which is stunningly lit at night. (Beware, however, that the top rooms have very low ceilings and many opportunities to bump your head.)

The bathroom could have been cleaner, the hair dryer doesn't work and the bedside lights are broken. There are no toiletries in the bathroom and several power sockets are broken. No tea or cups are provided in the room, although there are glasses.

The location of the hotel is just great. It is a safe area and you are 500 meters away from Sultanahmet mosque and Hagia Sofia. Just wonderful.

The room had a bit mouldy scent. And the bathroom was really small. The shower "spot" is actually a small hole.

    The location

The rooms were small and basic, but the staff was cooperative

Ali our host was most helpful and friendly. Always happy to organize transport as well as cary our bags up the stairs and to the car. Resul can be very happy to have a wonderful worker such as Ali.

The staff! They were great! Shout out for Ibrahim on reception who was very helpful, knowledgeable and kindly loaned me his metro card (I left it at reception when I checked out). Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to Haghia Sophia the Blue Mosque, Gülhane Park and Eminönü ferry station. My room (12) was at the top of the stairs and had amazing seaviews. No lift, but worth the climb - could be difficult with lots of, or heavy baggage and if you're tall, you might hit your head going in and out of the doorway. A fridge and kettle in the room were a bonus. Breakfast was simple and sufficient. Lots of restaurants near by - recommend the Doy Doy restaurant a short walk away for good food and fair prices. I would definitely stay here again.

A light by the bed would have been good.

The staff were great, helpful and friendly and made me feel welcome. The room was lovely, clean, airy and air conditioned with a little balcony overlooking the street and within easy walking distance of all the things you want to see in Sultanahmet. Plenty of tour information there and staff ready to help. I enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony or in the foyer in the morning.

Not much to improve, just wouldn't mind having tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but it was always available in the foyer. Maybe some fresh fruit for breakfast. There may have been some, but I didn't ask.

The view from top floor apartment was spectacular. Staff very polite and friendly.

The only issue we had was quite low ceiling.

we stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath Marmara apartment. it is one block away from hotel on floor 1.

    1BerishaPosted on: 5-24-2024

    The location was good.

When i arrived i saw the building was very old and the room smelled so bad, I couldn’t stay there, i left the room in the middle of the night and the hotel didn’t refund anything.
