Celal Sultan Hotel Special Class

Overall, hotel stay was superb. Staff could not be more accommodating. Location is close to historic sites but on a quiet side street with no traffic noise. Front rooms are best for the view.

There was no hanger in the room, for your bag or for your coat. The room was small that we felt ourselves as we were pressed.

The hotel was extremely clean, and the breakfast was delicious. It is conveniently located near many major tourist attractions in Sultanahmet, which made exploring the city very easy.The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming, from the housekeeping ladies who cleaned our room every day, to the waiters and the reception staff, always willing to provide useful information and do everything possible to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.I recommend this hotel from the bottom of my heart and would gladly stay here again.

There was nothing I disliked.

Loved our stay in the heart of old town, Fatih district. The place was amazing, the staff were very respectful, courteous and kind. The breakfast was amazing, so much variety of Turkish style breakfast items. We were upgraded to a room with a view of Hagia Sofia, that was so nice! Loved the proximity of all the places to visit from Celal! The terrace had an amazing view as well! Wish we had more time and could have explored more of Istanbul!

The location is prime. It is very easy to get to all of the major sites. The hotel has charm and is clean and the rooms are large. The breakfast is exceptional. We were there for a week and found the staff very helpful and kind. We highly recommend this hotel.

The location is perfection. It’s within a 5 minute walk to Sultanahmet square and all the main historical attractions in the area. Despite being in the middle of the old city, it’s very quiet at night. The staff were very nice and helped us arrange transport to the airport. They even packed us a sandwich when we left since it was early and we missed the breakfast. The breakfast had good selection and the staff were very nice.

Breakfast should start a little earlier.

The staff was friendly, and the breakfast options were good. They arranged airport transfer both ways for 100 euros total.

When paying for the airport transfer, we had to pay in cash. We did not have enough euros, but we did have enough Turkish Lira; however, he struggled to find the right change to give me. It's strange to not accept credit card for a 100 euro payment, then not be prepared to make change. Our bathroom had a very bad smell. I wouldn't say it smelled like a previous guest was to blame, it made me think something was wrong with the sewage. Whatever it was, it was very unpleasant and I don't know how the cleaners didn't at least alert the front desk and prevent guests from staying there until it was addressed. We were given the choice between two rooms, but no guest thinks to inspect the bathroom smell before selecting it.We were informed the elevator was not working upon our arrival. I understand these things happen and the hotel cannot fully be blamed, but I would have liked to have been informed before our stay as early as possible, especially since we had to climb 4 flights of stairs to our room. This is absolutely something the property needs to be communicating to its guests right away, in case people want (or physically need) to rebook elsewhere.

The location was down the street from Haghia Sofia and the Blue Mosque there were lots of restaurants nearby, and there were several ATM machines. Taxis can also drive to front of hotel. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.The staff was always very friendly. We loved walking to see the Haghia Sofia and Blue Mosque every night the way they were illuminated was magical. We are very happy we stayed in the Sultanahmet area as our base and then visited other places like Tasim Square during the day. Whenever we return to Istanbul I would definitely stay at this awesome boutique hotel. I highly recommend it.

Nothing everything was wonderful.

A lovely hotel in an excellent location in heart of the old city. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were helped with booking trips and also the manager arranged taxis both two and from the airports.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property, it was everything we needed for a short break.

The location, the staff very polite and helpfull, breakfast was ok. Very quiet area but still close to the famous attractions.

The room was too small. We paid for two rooms but they were different related to size, one was ok but the other one too small.

The hotel and room were clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options and the coffee was good. The location is so convenient to many of the main sights.

The a/c in the room stopped working one evening, but was working the next day. Toiletries could be a bit better quality. Some appeared to be reused if they were not completely emptied by the previous guest - some bottles were only partially filled. The elevator was broken the 3 nights we were there and was still broken the day we left. One of the workers said it was as supposed to be fixed in a few more days.

What a lovely, friendly helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them (and we were high maintenance). Very traditional decor. Perfect location in the historic centre but situated down a side road away from traffic. All major tourist sites were a walk away.

All the staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Location was very good indeed. The size of the room was nice.

WiFi at the hotel was very bad most of the time. Breakfast was good but nothing special for the price!

Very good location. Staff is friendly and helpful. The terrace on the 4th floor has a wonderful view. Large room, comfortable beds.

Breakfast was for vegans. The TV in our room didn't work. The first night people were working outside the window and drilling something until 2 am, it was impossible to sleep.
